My problem with Ron Paul is this, he is in favor of eliminating the government in ways that would be very very difficult because of the way our country works now. he would eliminate dept. of education, dept. of commerce, dept. of health and human services, and most all departments. While this is good in theory, that is radical change, and our country is not ready for that in any way. Dennis Kucinich is much more mainstream than that, and much more electable.

It may be a slow change, but even if it was 4 years or 8 years, it would be to fast for this country to handle. Ron Paul wants "asset backed money" not necessarily Gold Standard. I agree that this is important, but it won't happen, because he can't do these things by himself, he HAS to have the support of Congress. Most of what they both believe in will not happen, only things they can get support for in Congress will happen, and Kucinich stands a better shot at that.

We need to trim the fat off of them, but the fact is that Ron Paul's ideas are scary, because they are so foreign to the minds of most people.
