  • So beautiful, so touching! Thank you!

  • love it :)

  • the guy has a boobie

  • that was fantastic

  • Amazing. The music was perfect.

  • aaaww :') this is sooo cute.. ♥

  • very beautiful

  • where's the continuation???

  • aw, i wanted to see him give her the flower. wonderful vid, though.

  • very romantic, i like the end

  • Yeah i do actually. The actual piece is nameless it was written and performed by Dominic Popovich specifically for Sonata. But he never got around to naming the peice so when i edited the music into Sonata, the song was just called Sonata_Track_Take_2.

  • does anyone know the name of this piano piece??

    it's so beautiful~

  • This is a nice video good job Ryan McDougal.

  • wonderful:D -I saw it elsewhere on YT a while back, but it had Yann Tiersen music and no credits, neither the VFS logo.

  • i felt it was lacking. lacking in stuff like, did he know her? cuz he just waltzed right into her house w/out knocking...

  • That's not her house.

  • oh...duh...i should have seen that.

    okay, makes more sense now.

  • This wasn't about did he know her. It was about him getting up the courage to just go give her the flower and try. Too many people lose out on chances because they just don't have the confidence or they're afraid of rejection. That is what I saw in this. He finally got up his nerve and decided to go for it, rejection or not.

  • I completely agree with you.

  • this comment gave me tears in my eyes..! wonderful words

  • dude, you are a poetic genius. :-)

  • man i really wish i could do animation like that

  • yay

i have to say this: man boobs!

    okey, im good

  • that was so pretty. :)

  • You have a wonderful ability to convey emotion. I could feel what the character was going through. I had to remind myself it was animation. Which is what real artists do.

  • totally agree

  • Yes.

  • Wow... amazing animation. Truely stunning. And I loved how you used the music. There's no dialog, but you know exactly how he's feeling. ^.^ Truely wonderful!

  • i agree

  • excelent use of color man

  • stunning!!! wish i would be like that more, in the end just do it rather then live wondering what if.

  • amazing lighting

  • 5 stars!

  • yay! great job. :)

  • Great work, it's surprising how much nothing happens but emotions during 2:29 ! A real Po-8.

  • aww..that's so sweet<3

  • great job

  • i tired to use the word

    S

    O

    N

  • if it was made on maya then i see you as a god if this is single job.. still .. nice one

  • what u mean "single job"

  • nvm it.. i didnt watch the credits ;P(single = solo(or smthin))

  • Nice.

  • Love the music!! XD

  • I like the original better

  • I agree. Did captured the emotion behind the story. lol. it was a lil creepy at first.

stalker type, but then i got the point of the video...well at least i think i do.

  • Which 3D Animation and Visual Effects department is better; Academy of Art University or Vancouver Film School?

Vancouver Film School is always uploading so much great work, but Academy of Art University isn't showing much...

  • VFS, is the bar that other school aspire to reach. Talent attracts talent, and that has been their strength the whole time. All the teachers work in their respected field, and teach on the side. This way you're learning what is practical and applicable today from people who are paid to do what your are trying get into. Quiet often as new developments in your field pop up the teachers will know before anyone else because they witness or are part of the innovations. The talent only gets better.

  • Well, I hope I'll get just as much or even more when I go to Academy of Art University. I live in San Francisco, you know, so cheaper this way, but I guess the number one reason for a person's success lies within themselves and not just about where they go, you know?

  • Perfect mood, blend well with the environment. Good job.

  • He really captured the emotions.

  • Very well done. =D

  • the man looks so much like peter lorre!

  • Very well done.

    Lots of great expression.

And you nailed the Night time effect.

Too often people use Blue Lights to "simulate" the effect of the moon illuminating a scene.

But the desaturated Midtones and blue tint to the shadow sells the atmosphere perfectly. Which definitely brings the center focus of the entire piece to the character's emotions.

  • Nice =) Very nice

  • it kinda looked like he had boobs XD

  • May I ask what software was used to model and animate this film? :)

    Very nice :D

  • Great animation; truly beautiful. You can really feel his tension.

I have seen this animation before, but the music was different, how come?

brother u rule the galaxy!! dude!!
