  • Could somebody, anybody, tell me the name of this piece being played?

  • Comment removed

  • Marvelous!

Could someone tell the name of the music?

  • Wonderful that that man is trying to bring back the legacy of his grandfather. I've always thought Segovia's old Hauser was the best sounding guitar i've ever heard...and that was on scratchy old recordings that I formed my opinion off of. It just dawned on me though, that he was much younger and at the top of his game around that time as well.

  • Magari in mano a Segovia era n'antra cosa!

  • @twangbarfly Was Christ a deluded fool for referring to the dufuses of his day as white washed tombs and dens of vipers? When someone acts like a childish dufus I'll not hesitate to say so. Yes, you are in dire need of lecturing on spirituality and religion. Had you been taking to heart your Sunday School classes you would not have made such an ignorant comment to begin with just for the sake of making yourself the center of attention, because anyone can see this guy plays extremely well.

  • @twangbarfly You brought up religion—not me. No one asked you to go to my channel and then come back and talk about what you found there. If you didn't want a discussion to veer off into the numinous then you shouldn’t have began it. Going out of your way to engage someone in a topic of which you know absolutely nothing and then complaining about it ex post facto is the epitome of puerile etiquette. It would appear that allowing your silence to be your wisdom is your best course of action.

  • @twangbarfly The playing was beautiful and it displayed the full range of what this guitar can do and can sound like. Look kid, you wrote something incredibly childish to try and get attention. You've been called out on it by more than one person here. Get a clue, get over yourself, and man up about it. Nobody likes a spoiled brat.

  • @twangbarfly Wrong on all counts as usual. What I expect in a demo of a classical guitar is to hear some slow notes to show its sustain, some quick notes to hear its clarity during a quick attack of notes, some playing all up and down the neck to hear its tone in every register, and some hammer/pulls and possibly harmonics to get an idea of its responsiveness to touch. This demo had all of that and great playing to boot. It was also sonically pleasing as a recording. Not one thing was lacking.

  • @twangbarfly Talk about calling the kettle black. I'll be more than happy to allow people to read through the posts on this video and decide for themselves just who is being immature and a liar. It's obvious you're very, very young. "Pseudo-flamenco noodling?" Please... grow a pair of lobes.

  • @gmdinformation Got any children?

  • @twangbarfly Got any sense?

  • Comment removed

  • @twangbarfly You have abouty as many Hausers as you do kids. And words like "belch", "fart", and "fucking" are exactly what I expect from a young child at the bottom of the IQ scale. I believe your loser-name describes you perfectly barfly, or at least it will when you're older, although I'll stick with my orginal assessment of a white washed tomb.

  • @twangbarfly Hey twanger buddy. Why not head over to the local sissy bar where the cowboys in their high heeled pointy toed booties and red bandanas will welcome your dumbass fag comments? You're so far out in left field that you've nearly circumvented the globe! Don't worry; soon you'll be in right field again. LOL

  • @SonyV1U You should stick to servicing your chum, gmd - you have even less humour than he has. Your pathetic projection of your homosexual fantasies in PC terms is laughable. How old are you? 51. Time to grow up Sony, time to grow up.

How many more christian zombies like you has old macdonald tried to rally to his cause I wonder? Why is he making a public issue of this petty affair? Oh yes, he's a right-wing christian bigot and he is not programmed to think for himself, and neither are you.

  • @twangbarfly Good grief. Reading you is like a bad dream. Old chums aside (cousins actually), Bill (GMD) is as fine a guitar player as I've ever heard. I'm just a strummer, but I agree with him that the playing on this video was excellent in every way. And unlike a lot of videos on YT it actually sounded clear. I doubt that you play at all. You're obviously delusional or drunk. Or maybe he's right and you're just a kid. What you are not is a gentleman.

  • @twangbarfly Hmm...actually it's called having a life. I realize you have no friends, no life, no place to be, and no one to be there with, but we have families and better things to do than sit behind a box day and night playing on the idiotnet. But, oh, do indeed show us your fake Hauser pics of the most copied classical guitar in the world....

  • @twangbarfly How am I "the expert"? I told you I'm just a strummer. And what's this about broadcasting religious stuff? I have exactly three videos up, none of which have anything to do with religion. Get a grip wierdo. And sober up while you're at it.

  • @SonyV1U

What other details would you be examining closely? The sound can vary from one instrument to another, and is sadly not necessarily why many people are prepared to pay hefty sums for certain instruments.

You wouldn't know a fake Hauser if it had MADE IN CHINA stamped all over it, so how would you know mine is real? You wouldn't - your arrogance would compel you to claim it is a copy regardless. You need to do your homework to be credible. Clues - machine heads, label, marquetry, woods.

  • @gmdinformation Well Mystic Meg, you've got your know-nothing cousin sony to take over from you and hurl idiotic abuse in your place. You have skipped off and left him to it - ah, the spirit of christian brotherly love, it's a sight to behold. Couldn't help him out with the Hauser quiz? Of course not - you've never been near one in your life, and at this rate you never will.

  • @twangbarfly In all seriousness, you sound incredibly psychotic and more so with each idiotic message you leave. I would never in a million years waste that kind of money on any guitar when there are people in the world without enough to eat. Only a self serving piece of dirt would. And while I'm sure you're self serving enough, I doubt you'll ever have the money for one. Psychotics tend to be broke and live in their mommy's basements till death by old age.

  • @gmdinformation It doesn't surprise me that you have now wriggled away from your initial charges that I must be a deluded/drunken/psychotic fool to claim to have a Hauser. You now say you wouldn't buy one in a million years because this would be immoral. This is a playground tactic - "Never wanted one anyway!" - and totally irrelevant. We weren't discussing ethics, we were discussing objectively quantiable facts: I either have one or I haven't. You're being very slippery, yet again.

  • @twangbarfly Are you blind or is this just the typical logic of a ten year old. Please point to where I said I didn't want a Hauser. Also, please point to where I ever said I wanted one. I never once either. I said I wouldn't own one--not that I didn't want one, nor that I did. Think a little if you're capable. You'll no doubt grow up to be yet another drunken dumbocrat.

  • @twangbarfly Tell you what I'll do though. I'll post a video of me playing something classical, or at least semi-classical, along with the tabs for it. If you can't play it, then you have no business commenting about classical guitars. And you can bet there will be plenty of double-picked 64th notes in it. Feel free to use your so-called Hauser.

  • @gmdinformation Well this should prove interesting. ;)

  • @SonyV1U There you go, Sony, "Bill" rides again - and you're jumping about like an eager puppy :-) I'm relying on you to make sure Bill remembers to post that video - I wouldn't want to turn up at the Hauser equivalent of the OK Corral and find there's nobody about :-)

Tell him not to waste time on tabs or close-ups - I can't read tablature - I will blunder through it as best I can from the video...

  • @twangbarfly EVEREYONE can read tabs. What a stupid thing to say. BTW, how many goofy music forums did you have to go to before you found someone dumb enough to agree to play for you?

  • @gmdinformation Don't be so sure - not everyone can spell "EVERYONE" for instance.

  • @gmdinformation Bill, I may be wrong I'm starting to get the impression that you are having doubts being able to whoop the ass of a "10-year-old psychotic, delusional, lying, drunken dumbocrat guitarist living in his mommy's basement".

Even if I could get someone to play for me (play what?), where do you suppose I'm going to be able to borrow a $40 000 Hauser from?

  • @twangbarfly My only doubts stem from someone who can't string two coherent sentences together, who claims to own an expensive guitar and yet is obviously of very low intelligence, and who has never posted a single video of himself. It's more than obvious that you plan to get someone to do this for you. That's fine. They probably can't do it either. And make sure to show your fake Hauser lable you printed for us. Amazing, a guy claims to be a good player and owns a Hauser, yet has no videos....

  • @gmdinformation Good to see you have doubts about something, Bill. I don't trumpet it around YT that I have a Hauser. I told you to let you know that my opinion of Hausers is based on personal acquaintance with these guitars. I do not confuse the worth of my guitars with my own worth - as a person or a guitarist. I am not what I own. Nor does my playing does reflect my personal worth. I am not a YT poser & feel no urge to post pics or vids on YT, but admire those who post instructive material.

  • @gmdinformation I don't claim to be a good player - that is a matter of opinion. I claim to own a Hauser II - that is a matter of fact.

While music is not a competitive sport, I have decided to accept your musical challenge to back up my assertions about my guitar - not my playing - with my first video post on YT, which I will take down once you (and your cousin) have seen it.

So Bill, post the video and see and hear your work played on a Hauser. You might be pleasantly surprised... or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @gmdinformation A footnote - I have pressing family, professional and musical commitments this weekend - so the sooner you post your video, the sooner you will have an answer to the Hauser riddle.

  • @twangbarfly watch?v=HU_doSR5ak0

  • @gmdinformation Well Bill, the gloves are off, eh? I can't get started straight away, and it's not exactly a "baby" piece - I'll be sure to let you know when I'm done.

  • @gmdinformation Without wanting to add further fuel to the fire, I would simply add that if I cannot enlist the help of others to thumb my initial comment up and thumb yours down - as you appear to have done - how am I going to be able to get anyone to make a video in my place? Not one of my friends knows about this thread. As far as I'm concerned, all of this is a private matter between you and me Bill. So bring it on.

  • @gmdinformation

Yes, do that. Don't bother with the tab though.

You have now shifted the terrain completely to a musical duel. It may not be 100% relevant to our "discussion", but it will almost certainly be more "productive".

NB one does not need to be have great guitar-playing abilitiy to be entitled to comment on classical guitars any more than one needs to own a Hauser to be able to discuss these instruments.

Fire away - just don't expect an immediate response as I'm very busy this week.

  • @twangbarfly Gee barboy, you usually send five responses immediately for every one of mine--usually the mark of someone without a job. This one took you eleven full hours. Did it take you that long to find somebody to play guitar in a video for you?

  • @gmdinformation "time zones", Bill.

I wouldn't dream of asking anyone to play for me - besides, I don't even know what they're supposed to be playing. Stop beating about the bush and bring it on, Bill.

  • @gmdinformation

Come on Bill, stop beating abou the bush - bring it on! A video of you playing a classical-like piece WITHOUT music or tabs, which I have to play passably on my Hauser. Just post the vid Bill. You must have it in the can or you wouldn't be offering me tabs. So why not just post it and then we can both shut up for a while? And you don't want to let your cousin down. Come on Bill, you can do it!

  • @gmdinformation If you want to hear something "meaningful" on the Hauser, you might want to limit the number of passages in 64ths and play something melodic with sections of counterpoint. Charlie Byrd may have played a Hauser, but Shawn Lane didn't, not to my knowledge anyway. Your call though.

I'm all ears and I welcome the "challenge" - I just hope my guitar and my playing prove worthy of your approval to be able to talk about Hausers, classical guitar and music in general....

  • @twangbarfly Got anything else incredobly obvious to say? You've just gotta be ten.

  • @gmdinformation Also you will have to forgive the poor sound in my "mommy's basement" and ignore the clinking of empty Jack Daniels bottles - also forgive the poor recording quality as I haven't been able to steal any decent mikes from parked cars for years..... I have, however, managed to insulate the walls with pizza boxes lovingly conserved and filled with cotton wool from the tops of bottles containing my antipsychotic medication down the years....

  • @twangbarfly Someone who owns a Hauser yet doesn't have a decent place to play it?

  • @gmdinformation You're the one who said I lived in a basement, remember? I'm just humouring you. Go and look up "irony" in a dictionary, "Bill".

  • Mr. Al really needs to retire that " piece " . Why not get some Classical guitar lessons ? Try it , you might like it !

  • The player has such bad techniques (and choice of a piece) that he totally destroys the guitar!

  • What is this song plz?

  • @aidemakedonia i want to know the song too :( 0:45

  • Yeah, the playing here doesn't really do justice to the guitar.

  • Beautiful sound and instrument!

Is it used or new ? And the price?

  • I hate to say it, but you need to play some classical music on there to let that guitar express itself. As nice as Mr Petteway's steel-string demos are, I think there is much more to this guitar than we can hear from this clip. I'm not criicising anyone personally - I'd have loved to hear this guitar in all its glory, but I don't really think I did! Thanks for posting anyway, and it is certainly a beauty!

  • @twangbarfly

    How absurd;

like you are going to get the full flavor of any great guitar via a compressed digital signal across YouTube.

    Get real;

the only way to hear it is live and not at the back of the concert hall.

And sound is sound...it doesn't matter the style of music. I can hear the guitar quite well here...it' doesn't have to be Leyenda. And terms like 'in all it's glory"....is a tired cliche.

  • @twangbarfly

I could give a shit what guitar you have...but I do know you are a clown.

I'm also sure that if you took even a few seconds you'd see I know plenty of Classical guitar pieces and I'm sure I can play them better than you ever will.

FYI I didn't complain about the digital signal...just stating a fact which you ignore. And if you have a Hauser then you know what they sound like and if you don't just get a Segovia record.

I made my mind up; You're a jerk.

  • Comment removed

  • @twangbarfly Don't look now, but rattling noise you hear when you walk is your brain. What a dufus. He made this guitar sound better than I've ever heard a Hauser sound. Perhaps once you've graduated from grammar school you'll learn more advanced thinking skills.

  • Please tell me what is this wonderful melody?

  • Wow, amazing power, balance and beauty...I want one!! : P
