If you think about it and assume babies go to heaven Why is abortion bad? You just need to make sure non-christians do the aborting.

Isn't it also wrong to needlessly expose someone to suffering? especially if that suffering is eternal (hell). For me, to save a person from this suffering would be to take Jesus' command seriously; to do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you (even if it meant getting into God's bad books in the process).

Good video. I'm an atheist but I hate abortion.
I don't believe in an afterlife, so an abortion is clearly a tragic loss of life, from my point of view. On the other hand **IF** all aborted fetuses were certain to go straight to heaven then it would be very hard to see abortion as a bad thing. I think that was Danmill23's point.
Of course if there's any chance at all that aborted fetuses will be annihilated - or worse, go to hell - it's an entirely different matter.

See, I've realized that everytime I've read someone say that, they've NO explanation.
Whereas pro-lifers could(and have) write a 5-page article on why they're babies, human, and alive.
So, any ways, does ANY pro-choicer out there have an explanation as to why fetuses are just globs of tissue?

not all prolifers say its just a glob of tissue... we are all globs of tissue, but you have to weigh the differences between the two and ask whether it can be morally justified to keep it from reaching its potential... but it most certainly is not yet a human and incapable of suffering for most of the time abortions are allowed... ask yourself this... if a mother is 1 month pregnant by a rapist, but it is absolutely positive she will die from the pregnancy if she goes through with it, who dies?

*If* you believe in the doctrine of hell, and *if* you believe all unborn babies go to heaven, the most humane and compassionate thing you could do for another human being would be to kill them in the womb, *guaranteeing* that they would avoid hell (eternal suffering), while risking your own soul.
On these beliefs, performing an abortion is an act of selfless compassion towards another person, even though you will draw God's wrath.

Not at the subject, but after all the crowing, when you said that sentence, the chickens all cackled as if they were in church and saying "Amen" in the background. But anyway, God made us to love Him without being forced to. Killing babies before birth would be the same as telling God we will no longer ALLOW Him to create anymore of us. We would be cancelling His intent for us. That would not be pleasing to God.

Great vid sable. Life really is simple. Its actually not so hard when we lean on our creator.
I suppose its our sinfull nature to try and kill babies.
And it always hurts us EVEN NOW.
Sometimes we so hate holiness and righteousness we lash out. We know its wrong.

Of course it was life. But so are tumors, barnacles and weeds. The fact that something is alive does not make it valuable. Something earns value when its absence would have a negative effect. I don't dispute that a lot of people don't have anything to add to this world, I merely think there's no one who can definitively decide who and who isn't valuable. Except when it comes to infants and fetuses who are not valuable because they do not have language and their only impact on us is emotional.

How exactly would the absence of that heart, set of emotions or brain waves negatively impact the world? It wouldn't. Nature and every living being would be the same as it was before those things existed. You're going to start having to back up your statements with some actual arguments.

Maybe it's because you've never seen one, or spent time with one.

Well, at least you're honest. And best not to let me near babies, I find them to be very delicious. Just joking. I've spent time with babies and they can be cute at times. But what you've said about spending time with them really reinforces my position. It's easy to become emotionally connected to a baby, but intellectually, it's hard to attach value to their existence, isn't it? I'm not saying those emotions are bad, they simply aren't things we should use to guide us in making decisions.

True, without babies the human race wouldn't exist. But is the human race valuable? Sure humans are valuable to other humans but are humans valuable to any conscience higher forces? Since we don't know of any equal or higher conscience force than humans, we don't affect any conscience thing higher or equal to us in a negative or positive fashion. This means that the fact that humans exist is neither good nor bad and similarly the lack of our existence would be neither good nor bad.
