My goodness. I'm a big fan of ska/punk. I even like Rancid, but I hate Tim Armstrong's half ass'd guitar playing and singing. What the heck happened to him? He was a lot better when he was in Operation Ivy.

When he was in OpIvy he was still a kid with all that energy, by the time he was in Rancid he was an adult with even easier drug access. Luckily, he didn't overdose, but he was never the same Tim Armstrong. :\

SKA was created in the 50s in JAMAICA. Its easy to learn about it, just google it. Sublime is not even a REAL ska band. Ska got the name ska bc of the skat skat skat sound the guitar makes, and sublime only has a few songs like that. Bosstones & op ivy are often credited for starting the ska core subgenre. Rancid is def more punk than anything, but rancid does have some ska influence, still rancid is a punk band. Please do your research. I grew up on ska!
