@meow98 I suggest ordering your raw vegan ingredients online. There are many good sites for that. And about being expensive, just consider getting these products as health insurance :) Pay now or pay later with your health?
@rooibos12 Yeah, it can add up. Keep in mind small amounts of each ingredient were used. I make this cake rarely not just because of cost but cause I like to try making different kinds of cakes.
I used to have that exact blender. Wasn't too keen on the chelating effects of cacao on metals so I sold it and opted for an Osterizer with a glass carafe. Thank goodness you can just buy raw organic cacao powder now... you can get all of this stuff from Ultimate Superfoods.
That was great. I have yet to open my cocoa butter but need to make something with it today. Good tip on how to get it off the hunk, grate it :) I have all but the help seed butter, what do you think about me substituting coconut butter instead?
Lol @ " I thought it was going to taste like mud."!! I love it! I am going to try to get these ingredients so i can try this. Wonder if my kids will like it. We already eat all organic so that is good, but i am new to the raw thing :). By the way, i love your hair (lol)!!

I just ordered some raw cacao powder and raw cacao butter...I can't wait to try this. Your cake looks delicious! Thank you for showing me that I can make my own ground cacao powder. I didn't think it would grind into a powder. Now I see that I can save money ;-)
That was an awesome video :) Good for us finicky eaters who don't like using dates in our recipes (I might also take out the raisins from this one though lol) I like how you displayed all the packages the stuff came in too-I'm still new to raw food and didn't know what the packaging for hemp seed or cacoa nibs looked like. What exactly does it taste like? It looks like a kind of chesecake. I'll have to try it, looks awesome :) Thanks for posting!
Nice to see a truly healthy raw dessert...one that's not just agave, dates, and nuts. And I thought I invented that cacao nib trick with the sifter, lol. Great vid!!
You ought to invest in a tripod for when you are recording. If you are planning on sharing these recipes every now and then, I'd find something to keep the camera still. It will look more profesional, and make everything more appealing to the viewers :)
Just my opinion :)
(That cake looks FANTASTIC by the way, I'd eat it in a heartbeat).
Any ingredients I can help you with in particular? Some of these items are new to the market but are easily found at the website I provide in the description (above and to the right)
That was Nicely presented. Thank you ! Paul Ayoub Naugatuck

I don't see the point in eating raw unless it's a veggie or fruit? It did look almost as nice as you, nonetheless ;oP

Looks awesome! May I ask why the hemp seed butter is used?
PurnaBhat 1 year ago
@PurnaBhat Thanks! You could use almond butter instead or macadmia butter or even cashew butter. Any would work with this cake!

i made this cake... it is the BEST cake i have had... i don't like raw chocoalte relaly but the RAISINS make it sooooooooo good.

Neat VitaMix you have there...
Coconut butter - is that the same as Tropical Traditions coconut cream? It is softer than cacao butter.
For the hemp seed butter, can I use pumpkin seed butter or some other nut/seed butter?

Coconut butter would work well. Just make sure it's the coconut "butter" from coconut meat and not coconut oil. Thanks for commenting!
