ATA back in the 80's,90' was Charter before 9/11. That event hurt them real real bad. If they stayed in the Charter business they would still be around. The competition that thye had in the Charter business is stillhere and they are gone real real sad. I had a great time working and growing up in my early twenties flying on these AC everyone is talking about here except the 73's they did not have them when I worked there just 72, 75 and L1011 and I missed working for them when they had DC10s

Weird that they showed a 757 in the beginning of the video. When I worlked for them the L1011 did not have video we had to do the demo manually.

I think they would take them out of service and send them to a facility where airlines retire their aircraft or maybe give them to another airline and repaint it, I mean, they've had like, 100 something aircraft and now the company is defunct and they would have to retire those aircraft, Most of it were 737s.

Ah the old L-1011. Flew many ATA birds to Las Vegas from Chicago. Flew the L-1011 named "Big Ed" many times. I miss them very much!
