I don't use buttermilk often and this looks like a convenient, low cost recipe alternative since I always have plain milk, lemon juice, and/or vinegar on hand. Thanks for posting this.

chaconmcfly, if you can't get lemons, you can use white vinegar. the acid content and flavor in the vinegar is comparable to the lemons. i have not tried using limes, but would use vinegar instead!
