Would you kindly tell me where in Scriptures God is said to have the gender of both male or female? The Church (a person) is the body of Christ. They two are joined together as one flesh (Hos 2: 23; Eph 5: 31) thus she is hidden in him. When the Lord says "My womb" It doesn't mean he is male & female, the bride is a Person, in him, & one of us, this is clearly shown in Revelation 3: 12 & Song of Solomon etc..

The Holy Spirit is referred to in the masculine throughout the New Testament although the word for "spirit" by itself (pneuma) is actually gender neutral. The Hebrew word for "spirit" (ruach) is feminine in Genesis 1:2. But the gender of a word in Greek or Hebrew has nothing to do with gender identity.

Thanks for pointing this out. Monica is one of the people I am subscribed to, but I am deleting her since she made up the theory that the Holy Spirit is a woman. I said on one of her videos that if the Holy Spirit is a female, that would make God a hermaphrodite since He is manifested through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I don't expect my comment to be approved on her page since she apparently disagrees.
When I saw Monicas video on the female Holy Spirit, I was perturb greatly. What's worse is that she's taken this heresy farther by saying if we don't believe in that the Holy Spirit is female and the women of revelation than we have the mark of the beast already. She does not understand or know Hebrew, yet she tried to argue from what she does not know. I just finished my first semester of Hebrew 1, with an "A" average. So I am not a novice in this area. I believe the point the verse is making is that angels are not mortal. They don't have engineered lifespans. But being that God created all things, He can certainly destroy anything He wills.

I don't know where I heard this, but I remember being taught that since God held Adam ultimately responsible for what happened in the garden, that sin passed to all men (and women) thru male seed. All human beings contained half of their fathers, so everyone was born with sin in their flesh. But the Holy Spirit provided the "seed" and that's why Jesus was able to be born without inheriting the sin nature. Have you heard of this?

Actually, the spirit of wisdom is described as female in Proverbs. Some think this refers to Christ. However, whether this is Christ or just a figurative spirit, either way, it is clear that gender does not literally apply to God, but figuratively.

It's not actually her teaching, but rather it has its roots in Mormonism and Branch Davidians (SDA offshoot). Monica follows the thinking that the word for "Spirit" in Hebrew is feminine (Ruach). The disregard that the Greek word in neutral, the word for "Comforter" to come told by Jesus is in the masculine. The Hebrew Bible mentions a heretic cult involving worshiping a goddess, Asherah. We read in Jeremiah how the wrath of God was outpoured upon Judah for this false worship.

Excellent video, once again. I've known of her being on youtube, but never heard her until now. 1 John chapter 4 really nails it down. Jesus absolutely had to be born a Man (to be the last viable candidate for the empty throne of Israel), but at the same time keep His Divinity intact (to defeat sin and destroy Satan's work once and for all). Dr. John MacArthur made a great series about the birth of the King, and explains in detail both genealogies.
Monica rejected the doctrine of trinity. For over 2000 years, the doctrine of trinity or the triunity has been the watershed between christian orthodoxy and the cults. Virtually all of the cults reject the doctrine of the trinity, and they all reject it for basically the same reason because the doctrine of God's triunity makes Jesus Christ God, and the cults cannot deal with Christ being God. It destroys their theological system so they have to make Him something less than god.
I just watched her video. It was 33 minutes long. 25 minutes into it, I thought she was finally going to get to the point and how she interprets the doctrine or understanding. But she never did. She just said that the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, we should reject it. Well, she has been teaching that the Holy Spirit is our "Heavenly Mother" and "Wife of God". And these terms are not found in Scripture. For sure she has established a double standard for herself.

I don't know. We all are human, and that's why we really must pray for Monica. Maybe because she is a woman, and so many men called on her to quit in light of Scripture, perhaps she is going out on limbs to prove she's a good theologian. Maybe this strife has caused her judgment to be clouded and a bruised ego is guiding her. This could be a big possibility considering the subject matter and the level of anger she exhibits.
@RaptureOrTribulation it should be noted that Paul is giving his personal opinion not necessarily the Holy Spirit as to the woman whether she should teach or not. Paul in several other places in the bible distinguishes between himself speaking and the Holy Spirit.
Alsothe reason why Paul wrote this is because the Church of Corinth hadmany problems among them were the women of the congregation were usurping the authority of the male. That is why Paul is addressing this.
It should be noted that many of the problems and disagreements that the early Church faced are being felt today. Although the lessons had a local application, I believe God preserved these words of Paul because they are inspired text. We have to remember that history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.

Thanks for pointing this out. Monica is one of the people I am subscribed to, but I am deleting her since she made up the theory that the Holy Spirit is a woman. I said on one of her videos that if the Holy Spirit is a female, that would make God a hermaphrodite since He is manifested through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Great video. I tried to explain to Monica how she cannot rely on Hebrew grammatical gender to give us actual grammar. She does not understand or know Hebrew, yet she tried to argue from what she does not know. I just finished my first semester of Hebrew 1, with an "A" average. So I am not a novice in this area. I don't know where I heard this, but I remember being taught that since God held Adam ultimately responsible for what happened in the garden, that sin passed to all men (and women) thru male seed. All human beings contained half of their fathers, so everyone was born with sin in their flesh. But the Holy Spirit provided the "seed" and that's why Jesus was able to be born without inheriting the sin nature. Have you heard of this?

Actually, the spirit of wisdom is described as female in Proverbs. Some think this refers to Christ. However, whether this is Christ or just a figurative spirit, either way, it is clear that gender does not literally apply to God, but figuratively.
One of the prophets says God longs to gather Jerusalem as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Does this mean God is a chicken? No, it is figurative, to help us understand the way God cares for and wants to protect us.

It's not actually her teaching, but rather it has its roots in Mormonism and Branch Davidians (SDA offshoot). Monica follows the thinking that the word for "Spirit" in Hebrew is feminine (Ruach). The disregard that the Greek word in neutral, the word for "Comforter" to come told by Jesus is in the masculine. The Hebrew Bible mentions a heretic cult involving worshiping a goddess, Asherah. We read in Jeremiah how the wrath of God was outpoured upon Judah for this false worship.

Now I have heard of fem characteristics being referred to about the Holy Spirit, But to say The Spirit is a wife, and Lays with the Father to produce Christ is on earth..is just awful! And your so right. Man (flesh) is the one who sinned against God, So Christ had to be a man. I've told my children that if it were animals who sinned against God, then he would have to be some kind of animal. To deny Christ hasn't come in the flesh -is to deny all the works that were made on the cross for man.

Excellent video, once again. I've known of her being on youtube, but never heard her until now. 1 John chapter 4 really nails it down. Jesus absolutely had to be born a Man (to be the last viable candidate for the empty throne of Israel), but at the same time keep His Divinity intact (to defeat sin and destroy Satan's work once and for all). Dr. John MacArthur made a great series about the birth of the King, and explains in detail both genealogies.

Monica rejected the doctrine of trinity. For over 2000 years, the doctrine of trinity or the triunity has been the watershed between christian orthodoxy and the cults. Virtually all of the cults reject the doctrine of the trinity, and they all reject it for basically the same reason because the doctrine of God's triunity makes Jesus Christ God, and the cults cannot deal with Christ being God. It destroys their theological system so they have to make Him something less than god.

I just watched her video. It was 33 minutes long. 25 minutes into it, I thought she was finally going to get to the point and how she interprets the doctrine or understanding. But she never did. She just said that the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, we should reject it. Well, she has been teaching that the Holy Spirit is our "Heavenly Mother" and "Wife of God". And these terms are not found in Scripture. For sure she has established a double standard for herself.

I don't know. We all are human, and that's why we really must pray for Monica. Maybe because she is a woman, and so many men called on her to quit in light of Scripture, perhaps she is going out on limbs to prove she's a good theologian. Maybe this strife has caused her judgment to be clouded and a bruised ego is guiding her. This could be a big possibility considering the subject matter and the level of anger she exhibits.

@RaptureOrTribulation it should be noted that Paul is giving his personal opinion not necessarily the Holy Spirit as to the woman whether she should teach or not. Paul in several other places in the bible distinguishes between himself speaking and the Holy Spirit.

Alsothe reason why Paul wrote this is because the Church of Corinth hadmany problems among them were the women of the congregation were usurping the authority of the male. That is why Paul is addressing this.

It should be noted that many of the problems and disagreements that the early Church faced are being felt today. Although the lessons had a local application, I believe God preserved these words of Paul because they are inspired text. We have to remember that history has a nasty habit of repeating itself.

Neither do we Worship a Heterosexual god. Jesus nor his heavenly state Yahweh/god the father would ever need to have biological and physical joining to make this baby Jesus. for if god the father/Yahweh ever did need to bed a female copy of himself or Mary it would as you said be a Humanistic birth and take away from the Miracle that is his birth in a Virgin. Jesus is the name of our savior and many will call him Jehovah(meaning Jeshua and savior but not his name).

I don't think anyone suggested that God is heterosexual or engaged in any physical joining with Mary, because that is not true either. God's power is beyond understanding. He created the universe with a spoken word. The conception of Christ was a miracle indeed.

the woman you are debating in this video IS suggesting that Yahweh did have some connection with conception with a female (yet we have no need to give the non Jesus parts of the trinity any sex) she points out that it is done with the Holy ghost as you rebutt here. and whether or not you agree there was a biological contact (which is NOT what I'm proposing or Pomoting) this is what she is hinting. she is getting at the fact that we call him the Heavenly Father and he did this not with marry.

I agree. I wish I didn't have to make this video as a rebuttal. However, Monica has a large following of 4,000+ subscribers. Some of these people may not be well-grounded in Scripture, thus they may be susceptible to false teachings.

The Holy Spirit, the spirit of God, is the spirit OF God, God's spirit, the spirit that belongs to God.
This teaching that Ms. Dennington is spreading is an old teaching rooted in pagan cultures of the past. It was in Eygpt as Geb(Father God) and Nut (Mother Goddess) and in their offspring as well; even further back in history and is till being taught even now amoung some that claim to follow Christ.
Luke 11: 27-28, Jesus deal with a women who had this sort belief.

This is the reason I yell people read your bibles, but most will keep letting others do it for them. They don't even know they're taking on their pastors idea of what God wants. I pray that Monica and others realize how wrong this is, being a woman I understand that left out feeling with God, but I'm here for God's pleasure not not mine. God's will be done!
