  • 1:19 lol FAIL

  • I've never run a sup 5 minute mile and they run 4:45s for a whole 26.2 miles. Unreal. Unfuckingreal.

  • Superhumans indeed.

  • I bet Mutai will break the world record soon.....and for Mosop he is a great talent...he is technically the 2nd fastest marathon runner in history.... bravo bikab kotitnyo

  • @mavikings it's the boston only the berlin counts

  • @bigboieatems; true, but if there is money and fame to be made then it matters. berlin will be a piece of cake for thats where most recent records were set...lets hope the weather will be condusive.. GO MUTAHI G

  • 4 minutes and 45 seconds a mile... shit

  • i ran a sub-five mile...once

  • is he tired

  • it is unfortunate that hall and mutai can not get the records

  • Even with a 16 mph tailwind and a downhill course, that's unbelievable. Mutai ran an average of 4:41 MILE PACE FOR 26 MILES! That makes you think then, if he could run that pace for 26 miles, with enough training I could run that pace for at least a 5k and therefore run a 14:33 5k!

  • at 1:38 Mutai reaches for a cup and the guy pulls it away... what a tool

  • For the haters.." Hakuna matata!!".. Go Mutai!!! And incase ya'll wonder how we Kenyans do this, it's the healthy diet and "sugar-free" lifestyle.... WOOT ! WOOOOT !!

  • Why do people freak out so much and call anyone who mentions a difference between races racist?!!!

  • NOT THE RECORD!!!

  • @mcmilijr "genetic disadvantage"? I've found that racism always works best when you're subtle about it

  • @surveysaysNO Its not racist to say that Kenyans and Ethiopians have an advantage when it is true. Much respect for all of these guys though.

  • @viperdude281 "Genetic advantage" is racism. There is no innate advantage to being born in Kenya.

  • @surveysaysNO I disagree, I mean it's pretty obvious that distance running is dominated by people of African descent, but then again maybe we are arguing about two different things.

  • @surveysaysNO from a single generation to the next, genetics has absolutely nothing to do with where you are born. you get genetics from your parents, regardless of where you were conceived or born. you are confusing genetics with nationality. the innate advantage is in the long-african ancestry, i.e. african genes, i.e. people who have lived there for as long as anyone knows.

  • Najivunia kuwa mkenya.I'm proud to be Kenyan!!!

  • Absolutely incredible. Mutai is the man. And, hey, Ryan Hall just might be doing the most special thing, considering his genetic disadvantage. As an American, and a fellow slice of white bread, I'm extremely proud of him.

  • Holy......Cow

  • I think the last white guy that won a foot race was in the movie Chariots of Fire

  • @hcronos My husband says you're right.

  • how could the announcer be so monotone when Mutai crosses the line over 45 seconds FASTER than anyone has ever run over 26.2 miles

  • Mr. Mutai..you are the MAN! Hey Ryan Hall! you make us proud dude so don't give up.

  • Comment removed

  • Ryan isn't as smooth as the kenyans

  • Wow! Those are some incredible times regardless of the elevation of this course.

  • Go Kenya...!

  • @thuraku Go, go, go, Kenya! Long live Kenya!

  • Moses Mosop aka engine kubwa is amazing! 2:03:06 on his marathon debut. that guy is up for great things. he is going to lower the record down further

  • insane time... ...last year was 2:05 something...this year 2:03...next year another kanyen at 2:02 or perhaps...2:01+....

  • Amazing time for the Boston course! Certifiable or not, that time on a flat/fast course like Rotterdam would have probably been 1 minute faster. Those guys were just flying today!

  • So disappointing that a major network like ESPN didn't cover this live. Unfortunately Universal Sports is not available in my area and I had to follow coverage today through twitter... Still hoping ESPN will air this in tape delay soon, though not holding my breathe... Congrats to all runners for finishing this hallowed course...

  • awesome!

  • One of the commentators obviously has never seen a running race before. Hall running a...2:32? hahahahahaha

  • @thISxTHplacE They just watched the 2011 Boston Marathon though.

  • @thISxTHplacE he said it confused if you didn't notice he was all like "hall is at 2..32?"

  • And Hall runs a ... 2:32, what?!

  • @Xcelerate2 nah that was the womens time clock, i thought the same thing though

  • @Nickchopper77 Haha no I was making fun of the announcer

  • Man so much respect for these guys. They keep a pace for 26 miles that 99% of people wouldn't even dream of keeping for even 1 mile

  • @JoeyMorgan619

    Truth!

  • @JoeyMorgan619 I'd take it one step further and say a pace that most people could EVER run, even if they trained for it there entire life.

4:40/mile pace might not be too fast on the HS level, let alone college or elite levels, but its still takes a decent amount of talent to run that fast.

  • These guys are FLYING!!! Props to Mr. Mutai

  • Downhill or not, this is an amazing performance! 4:45 average per mile! The best time I ever ran the mile in high school was 4:42. lol

  • I picked a nice day to miss the coverage for this race.

  • @Raimakusa failure

  • MUTAI!

  • ... insane nigggggg g
