yesterday i was playing a game we were owning the enemy team, guess what happened, THE ENTIRE ENEMY TEAM RAGE QUIT, it was funny as hell

also, these to guys both rage quit when i noobtubed both of them for a double kill

unfortunitly there was a host migration so i lost the footage before the enemy team rage quit and the other game had a host migration after i noobtubed the 2 guys who rage quit so i lost that footage aswell

shotguns are effective up to a hundred yards in real life with military rounds. It should be that way in the game, no? I just fail to see the realism on how a shotgun gun can kill you instantly at 20 feet, while a submachine gun takes 3/4 shots, but when at 50 yards away, you CANT kill someone with the shotgun, but it takes 5 shots with a submachine gun. wtf is up with that?

@BoggleDongMongerFlog - lol, a shotgun can't kill in one from 20 feet in mw3 - it took the guy in the video 4 shots to kill that guy and he was running towards him as he was firing - and thats with range and a grip. They should have left shotguns as they were in mw2, overpowered as a secondary, functional as a primary.

Did you just say "reduce the range?" it's a primary weapon, why would anyone use a single shot weapon that is only effective at 5 foot range? The longshot bonus is a specific distance for the shotgun. A rifle longshot would be a much greater distance. DAMN IT!

I think you should be able to get a longshot with a shotgun. If you looked at that range where you were getting longshots with the SPAS, it was tiny, it was a shotgun longshot since in game they have bad range, but any other gun that would not be a longshot. Its all relative.

@17xDillz1997 Longshot medals are based on the guns range, so snipers only get longshot medals at really long range while shotguns get longshot medals as soon as they're out of their effective range and that's quite close. Hope that clears things up.

@frogsta360 Well sure it's hard to hit and you have to have good aim, the bullet wouldn't slow down too much though because air isn't too hard to pass through and with the average assault rifle having a range of 300 meters (off the top of my head) 100 meters isn't difficult for the bullet to pass. I imagine the cone is quite tight in real life bcause if it were wide then 50 meters wouldn't be an effective range. The "shotgun is useless beyond 3 meters" bullshit is completely made up though.

@17xDillz1997 Well, from the source i read it's that shotgun slugs (the single big bullet) can go upto 100m and the buckshot (12 gauge, the munition used in CoD games) can go until 50 meters. The spread isn't too large in real life, and of course it's not very easy to kill someone at 50 meters but it's definitely possible. And yes, i've got a PS3 and i've pre-ordered MW3 for it.

@OnlyToukleth It's also a primary. No one ran shotguns realistically in BO because they were primary and low range. Most people will probably run shotguns Damage + Grip, Range + Grip, or Damage + Range.

1st you don't have longshot range, 2nd lacks killing power shown by the video, and 3rd is a little luck dependent. Of course, we'll see when the game is out.

@Elecbound Realistically, in BO, there's high amounts of corner campers with AK74uMadBros and Famassholes. I run shotguns most of my time on Black Ops because it's very high risk and very high rewards; especially bragging rights when you can rape an enemy team with the Olympia. Honestly, most people aren't willing to put their worthless "K/D"s on the line to try anything else than assault rifles and 74u. Spells for cowardice in the world.

They shouldn't decrease the range if you have range proficiency as an upgrade, and besides, it took you four shots which usually by then your fucked. Also, Pump action shotguns have longer ranges then semis or autos, so it is accurately made, but like I said damage will be pretty bad from long range.

The range on the spas looks fine. If shotguns are going to be primaries, they need to be powerful enough to compete with the versatility of the assault rifles and SMGs. Otherwise, MW3 will end up like Black Ops and CoD4 where they were not viable options. As a loyal shotgun-only player in every CoD, I am excited to see what new improvements MW3 brings to this class :)
