Would have liked to see more footage from the track, on the track. More racing, or learning to race :) It was bit short. Maybe a skip special where you guys visit the factory :)
Hey Matt I'm a member of SCCA, you should check that out also, if they haven't mentioned it to you already, maybe if you do good enough, you can move up to Star Mazda!
my kid want` to b an f1 drivr its xpensive i know but every body says that racing in america is not considered a step into f1 they say i need to move to Europe why and is this true
unless you have about 20 million to spend to get in this sport, forget about it.. race go-karts, that is about as close to F1 you will be able to get. Trust me
But the whole Europe idea would be the thing to do. All the real tracks are over there. But as I said 20 mil+ just to get a car/pit-crew that would have any chance of qualifying. Only other way is to start at the bottom. Race go-karts and see if your kid can get picked up by a sponsor, that is the only way to get in this sport, unless you are born into it, like most of the drivers. And you can get a enclosed trailer and build a kick ass go-kart for around 10,000.
You can go to skip barber's website. the 3 day racing school starts at $3,700. But there are one day events that are much more affordable. the cheapest I could find is $600, for 3 hrs, that includes 1 hour of driving.
Phil was one of my instructors when I did Skip Barber @ Lime Rock. Great instructor, and Skip Barber was definitely up there on my list of fun auto activities.
Cool video, but I would have liked to see a bit more of what was going on in the school. I'm guessing that's all you were allowed to shoot. Matt, are you just looking to open track your Vette or enter into the American Iron series?
Yeah About That Ferrari T-shirt... Matt I Thought You Hated ppl That wear Ferrari Merchandise ? Who Don't Really Own A Ferrari... So... Like Whats Up With YOU Wearing Ferrari Stuff ?
actually, if you remember correctly, i hated on people who DO own Ferrari's wearing Ferrari merchandise at Ferrari shows. The exact quotation was, "It says it on the car, it doesn't need to say it on your shirt." As I do not own a Ferrari, I have free reign to shamelessly wear my Ferrari T-shirt.
that would be super funn i mean.. i remember seeing my dad's old ford..lol i am like dad that is a small engine..then on the track he goes super fast..and i am like ohh
hurryupcash(dot)com
its how i receive money to spend and extra
you too can receive up to $100-$3500 potential daily
Looking forward to more episodes, Matt. I know it's a bit of a side step from what the show is usually about, but I was wondering if you were planning on doing any episodes involving dirt track racing: CORR series, WRC, or even just local dirt oval stuff. Keep up the good work and remember to stay down with the clown.
haven't really thought about dirt oval, but my friend does run his sprint midget car, so we could go see what he's up to :) I'll give him a buzz and see what's what.
Thanks! I brought it up because there's cheap and pretty easy ways to get into racing there too. My local track has a 4 cylinder class full of Hondas and Cavaliers and such. Not real fast and furious, but its fun to watch, lol.
i just want to drive sportcars what is that called and where can i do it

How much would it cost me to get everything I need to know about racing and become a racecar driver there?
I'm deadly curious that I'm so set on racing legitimately and professionally. It's my life-long dream.

no you do not they have racers in their series that are younger than 16. the best start young.

if you have the money and want to be a racer this is the best place to start. they have the best instructors and handle everything you need to race.

Hey Matt, did your experience driving at GPNY help you at all on track?

the basic principles are the same, so learning things like proper race line on the kart track helps when you move up to the full size track

how do you maintain flat paint cars....wouldn't these paint attract lots of dirt??
citi0rhythm 3 years ago
the flat black mini is vinyl, not paint. but if it were paint, all you have to do to maintain it is keep it washed and clean.

There was a couple chumps at GPNY in full Ferrari outfits. Racing suit, helmets, and shoes, all branded!! Looked like the odd couple.
