  • I never knew this would work owo wow! Great job. One day I may need this method to fix another of my wigs. Thank you

  • Some synthetic wigs can handle flat irons and hair dryers.

  • But it will melt because it is plastic??? Please help me I'm confused. o.O . ..

  • actually i just poured boiling water on it and it worked!

  • omg your amazing thank you!

  • What if I have a styrofoam wig stand? Will it survive? I need to make my Mikuo wig straight.

  • @PitchBlackPanda no, the styrofoam will melt.

  • Wow, you did a wonderful job on this! Great tip for cosplayers who don't wanna pay extra for a brand new wig!

  • i just tried this today on my kanekalon cosplay wig. it worked flawlessly and even repaired the dead ends on my wig. thank you so much for posting this!

  • to be honest with you your the first fucking video in youtube that has work for me you are incredibly awesome

  • Do you have to use hot water?

  • It also works in the reverse - you can roller set a wig with hard perm rods dip it in the hot water let dry and voila - curls

  • @blenellchaney oh my god thank you for this tip.

  • works...thx so much

  • Where did you get that wig? I love it, It i get that wig, I wanna do the same!

  • easier way: get the wig completly wet, then straighten it. it's so much faster an easier... i've done it to all of my wigs.

  • im gonna try it, thnksss

  • very pretty

  • Does this also work on non-resistant wigs?

  • Lame b

  • I just straightened a frazzled looking wig that had medium body waves, this worked beautifully and saved a 129.00 wig!

  • I love the fact you used crono cross music <3

  • great vid and awesome advice! thanks so much! also, a small tip to anyone who doesn't have time for the boiling water like me: Hot water from the shower works too! Obviously it doesn't work as well, but if you need it done fast, hot shower water will do the trick. Again, thanks so much!! :)

  • how do u turn it back to its original form?

  • wait.. wont it melt????

  • Not that easy then...

  • Is that plastic hair ???

  • Do the ends get frizzy again over a period of time, after you've done this method?

  • @samalyy Like twenty... Same for extensions. Fourteen inches long.

  • would i be able to make it wavy or curly again after doing this? if so how? X

  • @MeganKatiexoxo i wanna no how to as wel DD:

  • @MeganKatiexoxo same as you would for real hair....do this, braid it and let it dry. :)

  • so pretty

  • Gonna try this on my LARP characters wig. It's much too curly! :) Thanks!

  • synthetic wigs are too shiny, thats wat makes em look fake but theyre so affordable...

  • @laceycoke

    really? how much?

  • That is a great idea. As soon as my synthetic wig gets tangled or frizzy I throw it in the trash and buy another one. Imagine how much I can save it I just had the time & patience to do that.

  • What if its in my head already? extensions?? HELP THNX

  • @hottyana123 use a cup of hot water and dip the extentions in it.

  • wow this video was grate

  • about to try this in a min, because i totally ruined my PERFECTLY STRAIGHT wig by deciding to put it in plaits /curlers and then dipping it in hot water, and now im stuck with a nice frizzy afro mess! :( i just wanted it to curl a bit and went a bit overboard. so now i am literally PRAYING that this will work :s and i can get my lovely wig back , wish me luckkk!

  • Thats cool.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH IBEEN TRYING TO STARIGHTEN MY DOLLS HAIR (CHUCKY DOLL) LOL AND YOU SHOWED ME HOW TO DO IT THANK YOU SO MUCH(:

  • i got this idea from u 2 straighten my wig thats genuis!

  • Ur genius!

  • Wow I wish my real hair straightened that easily

  • I have had wigs and hair add ons that get really frizzy over time. It seems that washing them ruins them and no products get them back. How do you keep synthetic hair as frizz free and silky smooth as when you first get them? Any ideas?

  • I'm the 666th commenter o.o

    lol, anyways

where did you buy that wig..? 0:

  • Really digging the Chrono Cross remix. Just sayin'.

  • wow, the color looks so vibrant after that process, maybe because of the spray but it came out really good. thanks for this video! is this technique permanent?

  • Loved this video!!!

  • This helps a lot!

  • I love the way your wig came out and I can't wait to do my...... Thanks a lot.

  • i just got my new wig &i think i might want to straighten ; thanks a bunch ! :)

  • Wow, that was impressive!! How long did she stay that way?

  • this really works!

  • where di yuh get the wig the head and the stand up thingy.?

  • @TheStardollFame the "stand up thingy" is a tri pod for a camera, xD

  • It actualy ended up looking quite real!

  • Well, I am absolutely impressed. Though I didn't have the specific conditioner/detangaler you used, my Tresseme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer spray. And it's wonderfully straight! I did use a finer toothed comb to separate the clumped strands. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial; I'll recommend it to everyone and DEFINITELY use it for future reference!!

  • wow gotta try

  • or you could just blow dry the synthetic hair on low setting.. it works just as well and is a faster process :)

  • my hit girl wig was wavy and I was about to go insane cuz it wasn't straight! thanks a lot!!!!! just in time for Halloween

  • thank you! :D

  • i know it says a few hours but yeah...

  • how long does it take to dry?

  • I wear synthetic hair often. I LOVE the longer length. I hate having to buy a new wig because the old one started looking ratty. They would look kinky, old and tired. I actually purchased a no-lye relaxer today and was gonna give that a try. Then I Googled to make sure it wouldn't burn and saw your vid. THANK YOU!!!! I tried it on an old one first and it was so straight again...almost like new. So, I quickly ripped the one I had on my head off (LOL) and did it to that!!! Thanks! Pretty again!

  • its works !

  • DAts so COOooool!

  • Does anyone know if you could steam a wig instead?

  • whoa thanks now my halloween Costume will be awesome! your the best!

  • Just did this to my rainbow tipped wig from hot topic for my Nicki Minaj costume.... it looks so great, i cant wait for it to dry.... I used a tresseme leave in conditioner instead of the detangler because thats what I had on hand.... also I didnt have a fake head thing so I used a speaker holder from my surround sound and put a vase over the top.... worked fine and now the vase and speaker holder are clean to :) Thanks for the awesome vid!

  • i have that very same wig tryed that and it did not work >:(

  • Yep, this does work. I did this to my daughter's doll. She didn't want it curly anymore because it was hard to comb through. Worked like a charm. Thanks for making this video. It's the best one out there.

  • Awesome! But where to buy the spray and any other brands that work for straightening wigs?

  • THANK YOU! Kitana's hair isn't curly and I just bought a curly wig. Haha. amazing <3

  • Just tired it with my wig and it mostly worked without the spray but it's still a little wavy

  • Oh wow! That's awesome. I am going to this to my messed up wig.

  • Do you have to use the spray? will it work with just the hot water? could I just just a detangaler?

  • @soralover2005 I actually used this stragedy of straining the wig and did not add teh spray on the end it worked just fine :) the spray is probably for it to last longer staying that way

  • @soralover2005 i used the kettle water

  • @rockstar where did u buy ur spray??

  • @ rockstar I AM GOING TO BE NICKI MINAJ TOO! I bought the exact same wig And had the exact same concern! Thank you for posting your results! You rock!

  • perfect video right to the point worked for me also thanks hun :) nice wig btw.

  • thank god i found this! andy sixx's hair is not curly. i can not be a curly haired andy sixx for halloween. that would just be wrong.

  • what if i dont have a wig head or detangler for synthetic hair?any alternative?

  • do i have to use the spray can i just use water instead?

  • @MegaGhosteyes I didn't make this video, and I've never done it, but the water might straighten it but the wig might come out looking pretty bad. The spray makes it nice and smooth and shiny :)

  • is there any alternative to the thermometer ? i don't have that kind :(

  • My sister has the same comb as you weird.

  • is this good for wigs that arent too wavy? like mine is supposed to be straight but it is wavy and tangled from the packaging. would this work to make it look straight and untangled?

  • What if I wanted to only straighten PART of a curly wig? Should I tie up the part I want to keep curly and then use this method on the parts that I want straight?

  • @teeyouvyy more than likely. and it means you have to REALLY fasten the part you want to keep curly and MAKE SURE it can't fall down as you straighten the rest. hope this helps :)

  • what ca i do w/ a curl wig?

  • Is it okay to use a styrofoam wig head? I'm worried about the water messing it up.

  • my model screamed and slapped me when i tried to stick the pins in her head

  • thats amazing....

  • has anyone tryed to do this with a cheap costume wig, and warm water instead of really hot. my wig is just a little to wavy and tangeled. it a good guality because i have had it for two years and it still looks pretty good but i have no idea what its made of.

  • Oh my god this video is perfect. I got a wig that is almost like that but looks like it has to be attached with like bobbypins. I might just try it to make it look more real! How much does that yaki shampoo and conditioner work? If the water is over 185 will it completely melt?

  • Love these videos! Keep em' coming!

I've got a question! So, for this year's haloween I want to be Nicki Minaj. I have a Wig that has purple green and pink on it at the ends of the wig. It's really cheap only because I got it from Hot Topic. The wig was all wavy when i took it out of the packaging to see it first. If I did this method would the colors run?

    Thanks!

  • @rockstar7809 I bought the same wig & was going to this too but i was wondering the same thing! Did it work out for you if ended up doing it??

  • @carlymakeupxo Have not tried yet. Probably wont since my mother hates it when I mess with heat. Srry! :D

  • @rockstar7809 Ok well i went ahead & did it anyways and it strightened it! the dye didnt run either

  • @carlymakeupxo Cool! thanks for telling me! :DD

  • @carlymakeupxo Does the wig make you hot? when i wear mine the minute it goes on my head my neck begins to feel really hot!

  • @rockstar7809 Not really but i havent really worn it yet for a long period of time

  • @carlymakeupxo Hey! So I got the same wig, and I wanted to straighten it as well. Two questions:

    1) How did you make the wig stand straight up? Cuz I dont have a wig stand or anything so was wondering how you did it, if it was different.

    2) Where did you get your spray detangler?

    Thanks!

  • Yea, thanks for having me ruin my only wig.

  • Where did you buy that wig

  • csn i still do this without the spray?

  • @gmzamora77 yea

  • Mmkay. I'm gonna try this today. *Currently heating first pot of water* Got everything I need. ('Cept my head is foam, and not plastic or whatever...)

    Wish me luck. o.o

  • cant get any easier than that!!

  • thank you

  • this look great pattasy *-* do you think it will work to finish the friiz in my wig?

  • thanks! this worked great on my 7$ walmart wig!!!

  • nice!!

  • Thank you so much my mom had a COMPLETELY curly wig that she got tired of and she wasnt going to wear it anymore so i did this and she LOVEs it Thank you pattasy!!! :)

  • try luswigs.com

  • AMAZING!!

  • i wish my hair was this easy to straighten...

  • I've just tried this out in the bath, took me 25 minutes to put a stand together (used some free weights and a bar and a vase to put the wig over) I didn't have a thermometer either, fingers crossed it works

  • So. Mine's just a halloween store wig. Will it work on that kind?

It just has a kink in it from being folded

  • @lilanimegurl113 worked for me!

  • I wanna try this but I was just wondering can I do this with a wig that I bought at a halloween store?

  • thats really impressive! have you tried going the other direction- strait hair to curly? or any other style for that matter?

  • Thank youuuuuu..you're the best **

  • Love it! I also curl my wigs or extensions with hot water just didn't know how straighten, cheers!

  • how to curl it back then?

  • I love it! /tries it at home

  • This is amazing, but I tend to use my flat irons (straighteners) on the lowest heat poss and still use a protector, that works fine x

  • nice soundtrack i liked that game <3

  • Does this work for a wig that's only wavy because it's been in a box for a year? Also, my wig is a bob cut, and not too high quality, just about $10.

  • what king of shampoo can i use on a wig and where can i get it

  • Once its straight, is it possible to curl or wave it again??

  • Why does this work? this is amazing

  • Can you use any conditioning and detangling product?

  • @RickiRAWRS I'm assuming since at 1:23 she pointed out the fact that it said 'synthetic and human hair' that you probably have to get a conditioning and detangling product that IS just so.

  • Awsome video, but isn't the wig made of plastic?

  • @AnnaHkz "how to easily straighten a synthetic wig" ...

  • does it revert back after washing it?

  • @pattasy awesome but did you let it dry then repeat the steps? or did you pour more water on right after you combed the wet & conditioned hair????

  • 3 people found this perfect video but were too lazy to fucking do it

  • @banana849 FOUR people, now... xD

  • This video was really helpful ^_^

  • chrono cross intro song, took me a while to recognize it

  • @pattasy how can i straighten my synthetic weave without burning myself?

  • what if it tangled

  • NO LEAS ESTO SI LO HAS LEIDO COPIALO EN CINCO VIDEOS O TU MADRE MORIRA EN TRES DIAS ES UNA MALDICIÓN YO LO HE COPIADO DE UN CHICO QUE DIJO QUE A UN AMIGO SUYO LE PASO.

  • 1 question were u using a foam head?

  • I'm scared to do that to My wig D:

  • do you need the detangler? :/

  • would this work if i hold the wig and shower it with hot water?

  • @1LivGirl omg i know!! haha same reaction I was like :O

  • I liked that wig curly too! Aww! :''( but that is quite cleaver, good job with this technique!

  • I think the curly one was prettier ;)

  • Can't hot water melt or damage the wig just like straighteners?

  • @DemonNekoTheOtaku I was actually wondering the same thing. lol

  • @sepifi I asked with a friend, it depends on the wig. If it's a cheap one it would probabl damage it. If it's a kanekalon wig it should be fine. I just tried it on mine and it seems okay =]

  • @DemonNekoTheOtaku Hmm...I see... Thanks! :)

  • whatt is this song called

  • @Darayaray Look at the credits at the end of the video.

  • extremely helpful:) Thanks so much! and the tripod as a stand; awesome !

  • Can I just use a foam head to hold the wig up? I don't have any plastic heads, just hundreds of foam ones XD

  • wow tht's great!

  • do i really have to out it on a doll because mines is sew-in?//can i just dip it in hot water???

  • @Badlilshawdy Usually dipping the synthetic hair into hot water will scrunch the hair and make it curly so the hair must hang down so a combination of gravity and hot water will pull the hairs strait.

  • Thank you very much,iv just done it.But i did it with kettle water and the wig is real stright.I didn't use conditiner,i use finishing mist.

    Thanks again :)

  • wouldnt that melt it?

  • So ladies who are watching, I used this video as a way to revive a REALLY ratty knotted wig that I had given up hope on. It had started out quite curly as well but was ragged and ratched! I combed and brushed the hell out of it (I combed the curl almost completely out) then I used 10 or 11 pots of boiling water. I combed it a little more, sprayed lots of Bobo's wig and weave detangling spray on it, and now it's detangled and wavy and I'm getting compliments -

this can revive your wigs as well!
