  • nice! When you buy a new CDI box, do you have to adjust anything, or do you just unplug the stock one an put anew 1 on?

  • is this the exhaust for the ruckus/zoomer are they the exact same? because i diddnt see one for the metro just the ruckus and i really want one but i dont want to buy the ruckus one and then it not fit PLEASE RESPOND ANYONE WHO KNOWS! thanks ;}

  • how much is this pipe and where can i find it??

  • The sputter on the top end is your rev limiter kicking in. My 2005 does the same thing.

  • yep...figured that out a little later. with my KN variator, the rev limiter tops out at around 43. Guess its time for a cdi...

  • how many miles on your scooter? I'm thinking of picking up an 09, how has it been for you?

  • I just rolled over 3800 miles. Its been great...I did a bunch of initial upgrades (exhaust, K&N filter, plugs/filter change) and did not get a lot more performance - HOWEVER, my fuel economy went from 96mpg to around 120mpg...no lie. 20% fuel increase is pretty substantial. Then, I put a KN Variator with 5.5 gram roller weights (recommended), and can get up to 43mph on a gentle grade with no headwind.

  • Were I to do these upgrades again, I would hands down start with the variator, then exhaust, and probably the K&N filter after that. Keep in mind - the K&N required breathers for all the hoses coming into and out of the airbox. I replaced some hoses also...K&N was around $55 at battlescooter, and picked up the breathers at a local auto shop - total, that kit ran me around $80-100. That might be the most contributing factor in the mpg increase though.

  • the exhaust is a great upgrade because, not only do you get less air restriction, but it increases your road visibility - its freakin' loud. I used to love the quiet motor/exhaust on it stock, until I nearly got run over. Loud pipes save lives.

  • @5taleCoffee Interesting. So you're saying that if I have a louder pipe on my scooter/motorcycle... then the woman in the SUV will notice she ran me over and reverse over me again to actually take a look? Possibly think about calling an ambulance? LOL

  • doing the tune up tomorrow...we'll see what that does to performance...keep in mind - 49cc
