  • play metal riff Bitch>>.mick

  • mick should demo the amp

  • dude sent ur guitar to this adress 667 main s. north 83420 ill take care of it :)

  • @mkdilucca send*

  • I don't care if it wasn't metal the guy shreds and it's good to know it's a versatile amp and can even play jazz, country, and mild rock

  • I wish all demos on gear made for metal would stop having dudes that play old man riffs. You can do this with a Marshall. Big whoop.

  • Sounds absolutely killer!

  • I'd love to hear a demo with some heavy riffing so we can hear the clarity while playing fast and what not. Rather than simple riffing like in the speaker comparison videos.

  • Hi! And Thanx a lot for the video, but I have one question: Just to be curious, what are the settings for the presence and focus knobs? eszpecially in the chanel 2 w/ boost and the clean parts.

    Thanx in advance.

  • 3:35 - 4:00 sounds like phil X

  • Awesome sound, I'm gonna get Gibson Les paul also soon

  • nice tone, nice playing!!

  • what comes 1st, the purchase of an expensive amp or the premium axe ?

  • WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?

THIS IS A SLIPKNOT AMP! PLAY SLIPKNOT!

  • @SlapphePikkur slipknot sux

  • @ELIASsandberg

Yeah, Slipknot sux, and bieber owns.

    Hahahaha!

  • @SlapphePikkur bieber rulez

  • @ELIASsandberg

    Nope, it was sarcasm.

    Bieber sux, and Slipknot ownz.

  • Honestly why do they have someone who plays like he has no metal background, playing a guitar amp thats MAIN PURPOSE (dont shit on me for saying it) is to be a metal amp. This should be demo'd with a much lower detuned guitar, mostly Dropped B and A tunings like slipknot use. Agree?

  • does anybody know if this amp also saves the push-pull commands via midi. for example if i want to kick in the notch or scoop switch on and off during a song?

  • not a fan of the tone really

  • wow! i0ve seen videos of this amp and it's just awesome and you can play everything with it just awesome

  • u know wats stupid all thesew revewersnever plae wat the amps r madew to do in this cas METALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

  • This amp is not just for metal. Mick wanted us to show it's other side

  • @Riveraprod can you indulge those of us who wish to hear the heavier side? and do a video that has serious raunch/metal to it? or is there already one that we can go to?

  • @1TheJackal1 see the 4 guitar and speaker demo with the KR7. Also have the the one with the esp occultist doing simple heavy riffs

  • @Riveraprod exactly this amp is mick signature amp meaning its great for his high gain de-tuned style of playing but not only that this amp is indeed very versatile as he intended it to be.

  • @Riveraprod why didnt mick play on this? he could show HIS other side then too.

  • @55k666 if you don't think those solos are metal...you are totally desensitized by the shitty music you listen to....this guy blows jeff loomis away and all other fags you probably listen to that you think are metal

  • @55k666 well you fucking retard.. good to see you didnt watch the video where Mick talks about what you can do with this amp.. its the most Versitile amp in its class. "you could be a session player in Nashville" quote mick thompson on the KR7 head.. Nashville's the home of country music pretty much. thats like saying the JCM series from marshall cant be used to play metal. tell that to matt heafy of Trivium. dumb fuck.

  • he is to close to the amp..so it's a very low volume..I want to hear it on 2-3

  • Maybe you should get your ears checked...

  • @jemibanez maybe you should shut your fucken face up and respect my opinion because everyone has the right to say what ever they want. hahaha and reply with something constructive please!!! if i think it sounds digital, its my opinion. im not dissing the amp, its just that its my opinion. get my ears checked!!! this fucken guy

  • Not as good as Carvin? You are kidding, right? Rivera is the best rock amp you can get. I would rather play a Bugera than a Carvin.

  • @tholt000

    lol. i own a bugera.

    they sound damn good.

  • 7:06 to 7:23 was nice. rest of his playing is fairly meh as well.

  • i never said they are bad quality i said tgere feel wierd so shut the fuck up

  • meh. no matter what you do with this amp it sounds like a metal amp. yeah it can do clean stuff better than say a 5150 but it still has a distinct dark sound to it. wouldn't buy this amp unless i specifically wanted to use it on high gain only.

  • i play a les paul you douche bag. bout the highest quality guitar you can buy.

  • not for the money

  • not as good as a carvin. forget about the "brand name"

  • yeah if your playing mick's sig amp then you should have your guitar drop tuned to B.

  • umm no he dosent, wow your being so sterotypical, u sound like the guys at guitar center. ex: "hay u should being using this guitar when using this amp."........jeez no offence

  • I wasn't being stereotypical because the crowd that would purchase this amp will most likely be a heavy metal crowd that like drop tunings.

  • you can get this amp ...but if you dont play like him ..or nearly ...better get some line 6 or some #$% kind xD

  • ehh not bad at all.

  • does it really come with the headmaster?

  • Shouldn't a demo of an amp you know actually sound good?

  • This amp will me mine!

  • no it will be mine!!

hhh, seriously its a kick ass tone, pure, clear,punchy,tight...

  • no non ono nonononono IT WILL BE MINE !!!!

  • this amp is unreachable 4 me....2500 bucks...man...that's too much for my small pocket :D

BUT I HAVE A DREAM....that I'll own this amp one day!

  • Buy bigger pants so you have a bigger pocket!

  • Sounds very good.

  • That's really good to hear!!!

Is there a reason also that you decided not doing a video review to the original KR100?

  • I own the KR100 and those videos just doesnt sound even like the amp, it just sounds alot less fuzzier and less trebley in real life.

Also, you should really demo this amp with detuned stuff.

  • We will have the right player for that type of playing soon.

  • Thank you, we feel effects hide the true sound.

  • I wish all amp-demos were like this : no talking, long examples, absolutely no effects. You actually get an idea what the amp sounds like...

  • I ordered that guitar, I like it without the pickguard. arghh can't wait for it!

  • this or an engl 100 invader????

  • does mick thompson use that?

  • yes

  • he only uses the head..he uses way biger speakers. still rivera but bigger.

  • actually their a lot smaller, the only difference is that his speakers are shaped completely different than the celestion T75's. His are a lot deeper rather than wide. i'll post a video response so you can see what i mean.

  • he still uses the head, but for his own personal cab, he got a custom made Celestion Speaker that is shaped a lot different from the average speaker. His are more like a really deep bowl, where as the T75's are like a paper plate. It allows you to get a lot louder without all of the stuffiness.

  • he did uses those speakers when it was first made, but changed to the 100watt Clestions

  • I want that Gibson!

  • Want.

  • no way! ive played both and rivera kills any peavey ever made! i own the knucklehead tre and it has the best clean channel ive ever heard on a high gain amp. this video really doesnt do much justice plus you have to be able to tinker with all the little options you have tone wise. this is quite possibly the most versitile amp ever made. i get anything from HUGE metal tones to beautiful well defined lead tones to the CLEANEST cleans from my knucklehead tre.

  • This amp is extremely impressive if I had the nearly 3k to spend on it I would buy it hands down, seems very pricey but when you consider he's using no pedals in this video just straight ol' plug and play, it's definatly worth the price.

  • God... it sounds just like a bass amp at 7:05 to the end... incredible.

  • I know many question why I'm a bassist checking out guitar amps, however if ur an old school bassist and you know how crappy those Bassmans are, you understand where I'm coming from. It's pretty bad when a guitar amp packs more bottom than a bass amp. That explains why jazz guitarists like Bassmans.

  • DUDE!!! Even with this bad boy clean-the bottom-end is still impressive. Bass should sound be pretty good with this sucker.

  • Who knows the differences of tones between KR100 and KR7 ?

  • Kr7 has a sweeter top-end, tad more scooped, tad more gain and bottom-end. Midrange was shifted.

Overall changes made it tighter and more focused.

  • lol, there's not an amp on the planet that has 3 channels like this...it's simply the best. And Luis is just a genius guitarist, the guy can play anything...love his guitar playing.

Can you imagine a little delay on these lead tones, keep in mind this is just amp, no pedals, no effects...truly amazing.

  • You know, It's so true that you would say this.

This amp is being recorded completely dry.

Also he's using an industry standard with the Les Paul Custom. I personally believe a guitar like a PRS, ESP, or Ibanez would do this amp more justice.

  • a mic would have better sound quality

  • why the microphone he should hav pluged a lead into the back of amp and then into pc

  • A mic sounds better because you get the natural reverb of the room and the nuances of the cabinet. All proffesional bands record cd's this way.

  • he's good

  • How much is it just for the head?

  • I´m from Brazil and I have two Rivera´s one R 100 and one R 55, I loved this amplis, Rivera is the best ampli of the world, I sold my Boogie´s ( Mark IV, Dual Rectifier and Road King ).

  • It all needs to be played with Mick's signature guitar. It would sound better.

  • no way....micks guitars are made for metal and thats it....the fixed bridge and pickups are made for heavy distortion and to pickup low end sound, it wouldnt sound good playing a different type of music

  • That's what these amps were made for heavy end sounding guitars.

  • Sounds a little tinish / plasticish / flat to me. Don't get me wrong it still sounds good. But for that scratch I expect something exquisit.

I'm currently favoring the Engl Savage 120 / Mesa Roadking II. Can't wait to hear some demos of the new Mark V.

  • Seems like some of this is in the mic'ing / cab. Kinda reminds me of a 6505 w/ a little better cleans. I'd recommend rolling a Bogner Uberkab or an Orange cab w/ this.

  • Nice stuff Luis!

  • seeems like a very underrated amp, but sounds awesome

  • no way is this underrated! this is expected to cost over $2500 just for the head!

  • damn that much

  • sorry, i just found out its $2800 for the half stack, still its a lot of money

  • amazing fkn amp !!

  • Finally, someone who can actually play guitar showing us a demo of something.

  • more pins in the midi input not the standard

  • ok , but my head have more pins is that matter??

  • Hey I Live In mexico I have a Rivera S150 with midi inputs for the footswitchy, I cant

buy the original here but i want to know if if its possible to change that inputs for plug ones ,

or how can I make a footswitch for this amp!! please HEEELP!!

  • buy a midi foot controller from behringer

  • I'm can't decide between a Rivera and a Hiwatt.

  • Rivera. Period.

  • Neither!!! Buy a MESA you won't regret it!!!

  • Did you know rivera has made amps for mesa? You can't go wrong with rivera.

  • but price wise, mesa is good. but for rich bitches, rivera is better.

  • hey folks, the tone is actually far better then what you hear on this vid! just visit rivera's official web site and searh for the kr7 video!

  • SWEET

  • SUCH CLEAN SOUND!!! Great amp, Gorgeous guitar!!!

  • great amp, playing, and demo
