I'd love to hear a demo with some heavy riffing so we can hear the clarity while playing fast and what not. Rather than simple riffing like in the speaker comparison videos.
Hi! And Thanx a lot for the video, but I have one question: Just to be curious, what are the settings for the presence and focus knobs? eszpecially in the chanel 2 w/ boost and the clean parts.
Hi! And Thanx a lot for the video, but I have one question: Just to be curious, what are the settings for the presence and focus knobs? eszpecially in the chanel 2 w/ boost and the clean parts.
Honestly why do they have someone who plays like he has no metal background, playing a guitar amp thats MAIN PURPOSE (dont shit on me for saying it) is to be a metal amp. This should be demo'd with a much lower detuned guitar, mostly Dropped B and A tunings like slipknot use. Agree?
does anybody know if this amp also saves the push-pull commands via midi. for example if i want to kick in the notch or scoop switch on and off during a song?
@Riveraprod can you indulge those of us who wish to hear the heavier side? and do a video that has serious raunch/metal to it? or is there already one that we can go to?
@Riveraprod exactly this amp is mick signature amp meaning its great for his high gain de-tuned style of playing but not only that this amp is indeed very versatile as he intended it to be.
@55k666 if you don't think those solos are metal...you are totally desensitized by the shitty music you listen to....this guy blows jeff loomis away and all other fags you probably listen to that you think are metal
@55k666 well you fucking retard.. good to see you didnt watch the video where Mick talks about what you can do with this amp.. its the most Versitile amp in its class. "you could be a session player in Nashville" quote mick thompson on the KR7 head.. Nashville's the home of country music pretty much. thats like saying the JCM series from marshall cant be used to play metal. tell that to matt heafy of Trivium. dumb fuck.
@jemibanez maybe you should shut your fucken face up and respect my opinion because everyone has the right to say what ever they want. hahaha and reply with something constructive please!!! if i think it sounds digital, its my opinion. im not dissing the amp, its just that its my opinion. get my ears checked!!! this fucken guy
meh. no matter what you do with this amp it sounds like a metal amp. yeah it can do clean stuff better than say a 5150 but it still has a distinct dark sound to it. wouldn't buy this amp unless i specifically wanted to use it on high gain only.
umm no he dosent, wow your being so sterotypical, u sound like the guys at guitar center. ex: "hay u should being using this guitar when using this amp."........jeez no offence
actually their a lot smaller, the only difference is that his speakers are shaped completely different than the celestion T75's. His are a lot deeper rather than wide. i'll post a video response so you can see what i mean.
he still uses the head, but for his own personal cab, he got a custom made Celestion Speaker that is shaped a lot different from the average speaker. His are more like a really deep bowl, where as the T75's are like a paper plate. It allows you to get a lot louder without all of the stuffiness.
no way! ive played both and rivera kills any peavey ever made! i own the knucklehead tre and it has the best clean channel ive ever heard on a high gain amp. this video really doesnt do much justice plus you have to be able to tinker with all the little options you have tone wise. this is quite possibly the most versitile amp ever made. i get anything from HUGE metal tones to beautiful well defined lead tones to the CLEANEST cleans from my knucklehead tre.
This amp is extremely impressive if I had the nearly 3k to spend on it I would buy it hands down, seems very pricey but when you consider he's using no pedals in this video just straight ol' plug and play, it's definatly worth the price.
I know many question why I'm a bassist checking out guitar amps, however if ur an old school bassist and you know how crappy those Bassmans are, you understand where I'm coming from. It's pretty bad when a guitar amp packs more bottom than a bass amp. That explains why jazz guitarists like Bassmans.
lol, there's not an amp on the planet that has 3 channels like this...it's simply the best. And Luis is just a genius guitarist, the guy can play anything...love his guitar playing.
Can you imagine a little delay on these lead tones, keep in mind this is just amp, no pedals, no effects...truly amazing.
Also he's using an industry standard with the Les Paul Custom. I personally believe a guitar like a PRS, ESP, or Ibanez would do this amp more justice.
I´m from Brazil and I have two Rivera´s one R 100 and one R 55, I loved this amplis, Rivera is the best ampli of the world, I sold my Boogie´s ( Mark IV, Dual Rectifier and Road King ).
no way....micks guitars are made for metal and thats it....the fixed bridge and pickups are made for heavy distortion and to pickup low end sound, it wouldnt sound good playing a different type of music
Seems like some of this is in the mic'ing / cab. Kinda reminds me of a 6505 w/ a little better cleans. I'd recommend rolling a Bogner Uberkab or an Orange cab w/ this.

I wish all demos on gear made for metal would stop having dudes that play old man riffs. You can do this with a Marshall. Big whoop.

I own the KR100 and those videos just doesnt sound even like the amp, it just sounds alot less fuzzier and less trebley in real life.
Also, you should really demo this amp with detuned stuff.
trippled88 2 years ago
We will have the right player for that type of playing soon.

Who knows the differences of tones between KR100 and KR7 ?
jp6l6 2 years ago
Kr7 has a sweeter top-end, tad more scooped, tad more gain and bottom-end. Midrange was shifted.
Overall changes made it tighter and more focused.

Sounds a little tinish / plasticish / flat to me. Don't get me wrong it still sounds good. But for that scratch I expect something exquisit.
