If i'm not mistaken the MiG-23 is a fighter-interseptor. The MiG-27 was mostly used as a ground assault aircraft :) But this info is second hand so... :)

Ha-ha MiG-23BH is the import name of russian MiG27. we had aprox. 40 MiG23BH and 40 MiG23 MF,MLA,MLD. The number one on the Bolkan, but not now, pitty.
