She's very humble not to mention in her story about the dangerous microphone at her Hollywood Bowl show that when it started to pour with torrential rain the security braced themselves for the audience stampeding out of the building and not one person moved
18,000 people sat there getting soaked - this was the effect she had over audiences
Some JERK on a clip where JUDY was on Mike Douglas, actually said Judy was dull and not a gifted conversationalist.. Can u believe that? I let him have it fellas...
For all you Judy fans, I left a post on Judy sing OTR at the Palladium during her concert with Liza and one person insisted that they heard judy say in several interviews that she never liked singing OTR. I have seen and heard almost every interview and she never said that she disliked singing it. In 1967 on the TODAY Show interview she said that OTR was the best song written. So if anyone has any interview where Judy said she didnt like the song, let me know.
@NFitalianGuy in an interview where Lorna and Joe where present, she said something about, the only mistake she had ever done in her life was singing Over The Rainbow. I don't think she said it because she dislike the song, maybe she was just joking or something. But she said it! :) In the same interview, Lorna also sings a song, and I think it's from near her end, because Lorna looks around 14 or 15 :)
@ninskimig123 Judy was being funny when she said the only thing she is guilty of is singng "Over The Rainbow" & she shouldn't get anything more than a traffic ticket. Judy was referring to the Motion of going over the rainbow as a "moving violation" hence the traffic ticket joke. Judy had a quick wit. She only said it to make a point about the lies the tabliods were saying about her. Judy loved "OTR" & once wrote to Harold Arlen thanking him for Over The Rainbow & its impact on her life.
She looked throughout the series like a high fashion model. She was thin after a long period of being heavy and this was whole new, ultrachic and glamorous look for her. And she loved it! The parade of stars on this series reflects the great respect for her, the very respect she did not get from her producers and her network.
@waynebrasler The network was the reaso they kept switching Her Production staff and the shows format changed. Norman Jewison who did the 1962 Judy Garland Show with Sinatra & Dean Martin. Jewison's shows for the Series were the shows where she walks out onto the stage and you see that huge spot light and Jerry Van Dyke and other guest stars had Giant Photos that looked like a negative X ray type photo. Bill Colleran did mainly the concert shows & George Shlatter was the other producer.
She looks beautiful in her chat with Terry Thomas. "If you ever find out what it means, cable me." She was naturally so funny. I could listen to her stories all day.
And then there's that beautiful perfrmance and at the end she trips on her dress!! Poor Judy. :P Thank you for posting this.
They really should have just let Judy be Judy unstead of tampering with things that worked. She was herself and the most honest and truest performer ever and You can tell just by her stories. They audience would have gotten a chance to see what we rarely seen and that is Judy telling stories. Her singing goes without saying but i love hearing her talk and explain things
Judy had on about 4 ppl who were in the 1963 comedy It's a Mad mad mad mad world. Stanley Kramer wanted to pair Judy and Mickey instead Mickey and Buddy Hackett but Judy was getting ready for her TV Series. Kramer loved her work in Judgment at Nuremberg. That movie woudl have been even funnier if Judy was in it.
@loulou2lou Judy was the best Entertainer who was a brilliant actress, A woman who God blessed with the greatest Voice anyone ever had. She also wasn't a boor and always entertained even when she talked. She was never "Hey look at me, I am a star!" She was a geunine person and loved all of her fans and had great respect for her legions of fans.

So charming and so real. She sings as though she's thinking of the lyrics as she sings, telling a story.

These outtakes are almost as great as the material that made it to the final cut. Anything Judy, is perfect for me.
