this issue raised because of sabah indigenous tribes were using this word Allah subtitued for word God. Why the name Allah is used in bible translation in indonesia and arab countries but not in malaysia. Do u know the catholics religion actually have a name for their god, it is the four consonants word YHWH (it not pronounciable but normally pronouns as Yahweh). It is very sacred to the catholic church and the catholic followers are not allowed to used it. however when catholism spread to other country the translation bible will take the name of god used by the locals. But the name Allah is very sacred in Islam, just like the name YHWH to the catholic church.
