I know what you mean about graduating at 22. I had to fight for over 1 year to get my son on a diploma track even though he is clearly intelligent enough. He has no academic goals at all. he exceeds every standard academically. I was told being in special education(he has meltdowns related to sensory issues) is an automatic attendance only diploma. I hate special education, its a parking lot for kids who dont fit the cookie cutter mold.
