  • I can't believe a track not only this good but this classic F1 is not on the calendar. Fuck all the shitty 3rd world grand prix's they're shitty tracks with shitty atmosphere and excitement.

  • @Foxx1981 Abu Dhabi, and America is not a 3rd world country. and they stopped hosting it becuase of remodeling, it should return to F1 some day.

  • Man he was good. F1 has gone downhill since he left.

  • James looks like a drunk

  • true 2005 champ

  • @Michaelingolfhansen

Sure it wont return for those reasons, but it still features aspects that are sorely missing from the current F1 calendar. Purpose built tracks should still feature the character of the scenery they are built in. The trees are gorgeous and the houses iconic. Driver's should also be tested in all conditions and the undulating terrain provided a very interesting test. It's sad that Hermann Tylke just butchers the landscape and repeats the same track designs over and over.

  • SHUT UP!!!!!!i wanna ear those cylinders!

  • I want this track back, its lovely!!

  • @Raikkonennl BAADD TRACK ! Iwant back AYRTON SENNA !!!

  • @TheKirooo *sigh* another widow...

  • Martin Brundle's commentary is superb, especially on the pole-position laps.

  • @RoLLWithITOasis1 Martin brundle is the best! When john ledgard starts speaking i just want brundle to smack him one and shut him up!

  • @stellpoons I prefer no one speaking at all.

  • now f1 is shit.

I miss the old days T.T

  • @nakasuma89 shut up, and listen to lambada maybe.

  • in which second is the tamburello?

  • @hartomandilo Its starts at :16 and finishes at :21. Hope that helps

  • dude, i want to hear the v10, so ssst! I know what you are telling me, I have eyes

  • Ohhh!! that mclaren v10! i had an eargasm

  • This was - in this post 94 layout - the most boring track in modern F1!

Nothing but short straights and slow chicanes, and the key to get a good a lap was to setup the car so you could drive OVER and ON the curbs, without upsetting the car...instead of driving on the track!

And oh...overtaking = impossible! Horrible track!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen

I agree. Good thing it was axed from the calendar. Missed by very few.

  • Thank god you're not in charge cause that's an awful idea.

  • @Anime998877 yes it is and i now realise that.

  • Compare this lap to ANY of the ridiculously dull Bahrain circuit.

With the horribly slow 2010 cars, it's like watching a different sport.

    : (

  • @reds005 i agree soon we will watch a gp 2 race, and they will lap f1

  • Pure V10 power!! Amazing

  • Launching across the kerb on the exit of Tamburello.

  • Ahhh, the V10 F1 sound! Just awesome! Shame Kimi won't be racing in 2010, but his head's been out of F1 for some time, I think.

  • great lap kimi shame he didnt win the race

  • Comment removed

  • I agree but Kimi wanted to much money, so Mclaren opted for Button!!!

  • I miss the V10s so much...

  • F1 is a cheap imitation of itself at the moment.

You just don't get the buzz riding onboard like you used to in these cars.

  • last year of what?

  • it was the last year of v10

  • @kd04025 Apart from Toro Rosso in 2006 they ran rev-limited v10s at 16,500

  • perfect lap

  • this was also the race villeneuve miraculously finished 4th, wasn't it (after the bar dqs)?

  • i want imola back to the calendar.

  • the last chicane in imola was eliminated in 2008 i think... now the straight is much longer¡¡

  • yeah. wonder if it'll get back on the calender considering it'll be a very short lap, but could result in last minute passes with the kers and no tc

  • unfourntanely? tihs woas the best race in 5 years

  • v10s were beasts...i really miss the good old days of F1!!!

  • Old Hockenheim, Old Spa with it's classic bus stop chicane, Old Monaco.

F1 is fucked up now. 1998 was the beginning of the end with it's grooved tires narrow cars.

  • stop living in the past, the old cars were crap (except the turbo cars) and they've got back the slick tyres now anyway so stfu

  • Thank god in the Netherlands we have Olaf Mol as commentator who SHUTS THE HELL UP during the onboard cam views.

This English guy thinks his commentary sounds better than the sound of an F1 engine.

  • I bet 'Olaf Mol' doesnt know jack shit compared to Martin Brundle, and it sounds like you dont either since you referred to him as "this english guy."

  • hahaha

  • You do realise this is for a feature he does each week? It's the lap analysis. Google Martin Brundle, and I think you'll realise you're talking out your arse ;)

  • lol your right there

  • well, he describes the lap. im sorry if he didnt get the memo about how the video didnt meet your requirements. so shut the hell up.

  • Man, i was wondering if there is a video of this lap without these two morons ruining it?

  • the sound of the engine at 0.45!

  • bring back V10

  • They should broadcast whole races from onboard camera

  • nah that wouldn´t be that good because you dont have the overview.

  • yeah. that would be really cool. especially if they brought back the v-10s.

  • when u watch it on BBC press red and you can watch it onboard, but it gets boring after a while.

  • i miss this track :( bring back imola!

  • ah, that sound of engine it's fantastic... If V10 returnded, i will be luckly :D

  • I'm trying to find an onboard of clip of raikkonen from a few years ago, where someone's engine had blown up creating a thick cloud of smoke on the track, and kimi just blasted through it at about 180 mph. can anyone remember which track it was?

  • It was at Spa, and I think it was in 2002.

Look at my favorites, "Kimi a füstben" is the name of the video.

    He doesn't lift at all!

  • And take a look at the "Kimi Mclaren Mercedes 2002 Eau Rouge (Spa)" video.

    So much smoke..

  • @orjan2k yes Olivier Panis engine blew up, it was impressive

  • It was monaco 2004 when Takumo Sato`s engine blew up

  • @wurble monaco i think and it was Takuma Sato's engine the blew up creating alot of smoke although im not sure what year it was

  • @wurble its not barein 2004??? that race he blows the engine. but not that fast i think.

  • Raikkonen Deserved that championship, he was just unfortunate with his mechanical faliures and grid penalties, but thats F1

  • mp4-20?

  • I like the quality of this video. It's sharper than I was expecting.

  • The dude at the start, on the left is a complete cunt. (James Allen)

  • Imola....despite its sad history i think its a great circuit

  • Brilliant car control through the chicane...no correction on the stearing weel or anything, beautiful.

  • the 2005 mclaren was one of the best f1 cars of all time i think, it was so superior and if it had been more reliable they would have creamed everyone that year

  • If it had been.Well..thats true for sure.

  • Yeah it seemed like something would go wrong with that damn engine every race. I haven't been quite as fond of Mercedes since that season. They really let Kimi down.

  • Yeah, Kimi would simply blister the track for a few laps.....and then engine blows. But it was awesome to watch Kimi rape that Mclaren and now, for some reason, he is no longer motivated in Ferrari. The red does even look good on him as compared to silver.

  • of course raikkonen is motivated, he is a ferrari driver after all.

  • the 3 best f1 cars are 1989 McLaren, 2002 Ferrari, and 2004 Ferrari, and 2005 McLaren would have been good if better reliability

  • the mp4/20 is great,it has wide bigger tunnels and short wheel base, now thats we call a super car

  • Now that is Kimi at his best, awesome car control & incredible reflexes.... and what a lap!

I'd almost forgotten how much better the V10 engines sounded, and the wider power band allowing drivers to get on the power much earlier thru corners was great!

  • I can't believe we have circuits like Valencia and Singapore; shite circuits where one car follows the other, and we don't have circuits like this anymore :-(

It will be nice to see them racing at Suzuka again next year :-D

  • Absolutely agree with you m8,tracks like Imola & Suzuka shows them up for the mickey mouse 'procession' circuits they are, where its almost impossibe to actually race. But then again the FIA doesnt want proper races anymore!

  • Singapore was actually pretty good. But Valencia was LAME

  • I think there's a decent chance for proper racing at both circuits with the new relegations... if they do what they are supposed to. I agree that Valencia was a really lame circuit though. Was about to go there last year but I'm glad I chose Germany instead.

  • Singapore was just as shit as Valencia. Thank Piquet that we got at least some action.

  • Amazing lap from Kimi there. God those V10's sound so much better than the current V8's. Hopefully Imola will make a return to the championship in the near future.

  • This video never ceases to amaze me.

  • Those V10's sound epic.

  • legendary circuits like these needs to come back onto the racing calender. What a damn shame

  • absolutely

  • This was that goddamn McLaren time when he had a chance twice. But always... ALWAYS goddamn that fucking engine turned to James Bond smoke car... He would had won pretty many races...

  • yeah, the mclaren that year was very, very fast but unfortunately very, very unreliable as well.

  • Kimi + McLaren = Good

    Kimi + Ferrari = Exelent ;)

  • That right there is the definition of "Haulin' ass"

  • Any suggestions for setup at Imola? how much wing should i put?

  • what game?

  • if you're playing championship edition, i like 38% rear and front wings 9 front and rear suspensions, 0.4 front camber, 0,2 rear camber.. that works for me

  • ty, I'll try that =)

  • I was on that GP!!

  • Great video. I love the onboard stuff from Kimi in 2005. Some of his driving in 2007 wasn't so polished at first when he wasn't quite as comfortable in the car.

  • i wish i was that fast!

  • Fuckin class!!!

  • NICE !!!!!!!!
