I can't believe a track not only this good but this classic F1 is not on the calendar. Fuck all the shitty 3rd world grand prix's they're shitty tracks with shitty atmosphere and excitement.
Sure it wont return for those reasons, but it still features aspects that are sorely missing from the current F1 calendar. Purpose built tracks should still feature the character of the scenery they are built in. The trees are gorgeous and the houses iconic. Driver's should also be tested in all conditions and the undulating terrain provided a very interesting test. It's sad that Hermann Tylke just butchers the landscape and repeats the same track designs over and over.
This was - in this post 94 layout - the most boring track in modern F1!
Nothing but short straights and slow chicanes, and the key to get a good a lap was to setup the car so you could drive OVER and ON the curbs, without upsetting the car...instead of driving on the track!

I bet 'Olaf Mol' doesnt know jack shit compared to Martin Brundle, and it sounds like you dont either since you referred to him as "this english guy."
You do realise this is for a feature he does each week? It's the lap analysis. Google Martin Brundle, and I think you'll realise you're talking out your arse ;)
I'm trying to find an onboard of clip of raikkonen from a few years ago, where someone's engine had blown up creating a thick cloud of smoke on the track, and kimi just blasted through it at about 180 mph. can anyone remember which track it was?
the 2005 mclaren was one of the best f1 cars of all time i think, it was so superior and if it had been more reliable they would have creamed everyone that year
Yeah it seemed like something would go wrong with that damn engine every race. I haven't been quite as fond of Mercedes since that season. They really let Kimi down.
Yeah, Kimi would simply blister the track for a few laps.....and then engine blows. But it was awesome to watch Kimi rape that Mclaren and now, for some reason, he is no longer motivated in Ferrari. The red does even look good on him as compared to silver.
Now that is Kimi at his best, awesome car control & incredible reflexes.... and what a lap!
I'd almost forgotten how much better the V10 engines sounded, and the wider power band allowing drivers to get on the power much earlier thru corners was great!
I can't believe we have circuits like Valencia and Singapore; shite circuits where one car follows the other, and we don't have circuits like this anymore :-(
It will be nice to see them racing at Suzuka again next year :-D
Absolutely agree with you m8,tracks like Imola & Suzuka shows them up for the mickey mouse 'procession' circuits they are, where its almost impossibe to actually race. But then again the FIA doesnt want proper races anymore!
I think there's a decent chance for proper racing at both circuits with the new relegations... if they do what they are supposed to. I agree that Valencia was a really lame circuit though. Was about to go there last year but I'm glad I chose Germany instead.
Amazing lap from Kimi there. God those V10's sound so much better than the current V8's. Hopefully Imola will make a return to the championship in the near future.
This was that goddamn McLaren time when he had a chance twice. But always... ALWAYS goddamn that fucking engine turned to James Bond smoke car... He would had won pretty many races...
if you're playing championship edition, i like 38% rear and front wings 9 front and rear suspensions, 0.4 front camber, 0,2 rear camber.. that works for me
Great video. I love the onboard stuff from Kimi in 2005. Some of his driving in 2007 wasn't so polished at first when he wasn't quite as comfortable in the car.
