In Metroid 2 after you kill the Metroid Queen you run into the next room to leave the planet and a Metroid egg....the last Metroid egg left hatches right in front of Samus. The baby circles you all the way to your ship thinking Samus is its mother. At the start of this Super Metroid...Samus gives it to a space station -- but Ripley steals it from there and Samus chases him. It attacks you in Tourian (sp) because it didn't recognize it was Samus until she was about to die.

Instead of jumping to hit the glass tank, just stand on the platform and aim diagonally. Then spam normal missiles, and you'll go to the second phase in no time. :)

Metroids apparently can get that big. Metroids can absorb life, so they can also dispense it. And that Metroid was one that saw Samus as it´s mom, so it would die for Samus.

This huge metroid is the metroid Samus finds. You even see it at the beginin of Super Metroid. When Samus discovers the metroid, it just hatches from an egg and the metroid follows her, thinking that Samus is a sort of mother.

That huge metroid is the one from that egg, the one that broke trough the capsule glass you see in the room after beating Ridley. Yeh, I know it grew up really fast but still, that's why the metroid stops from killing Samus and that's why it saves her.

The Suits have pretty good defense, and when the mother brain attacks you you sheild it pretty good, but you cant kill her, so in order to go to the next scene, he made it go faster by switching suits so samus and get her energy drained faster. Man this is perhaps the best platformer game for metroid ever created. I love this game

In my opinion this has to be the best of the old metroid games because it's part of the trilogy from the first one on nes to the second one on gameboy and then to this one on the snes. The best of the series (in my opinion)but the ones after it are great (even the prime series) but can't compare to the story of the first three.

Just to add one more thing. One of the reasons I like Super Metroid is because in the begining you actually desend down the area you used to escape on the first one; and bypass Mother Brains old broken encasing. It's ironic that Mother Brains new reinforced hideout is an updated one from the first and you actually have to once again leave the way you left on the first one through a different path. Which is why I favor this game. thanks for the upload!
