  • It's a Chieftain NR Low F

  • @usfenderfsdlx it could be the bottom part of an old crutch flatend at one end by a tractor?????

mike would still make it sound sweet...lol

    all the best.

  • Hey guys, what kind of flute is that? Thanks

  • Its not a flute, its called a Low whistle and this i think (do not hold me to it is a low G or F. If your looking to start up I would seriously suggest starting with a Low D as its one of the most flexible whistles

  • That Is Not A Flute Mate. It is A low whistle in the key of F'.

  • It's a Low F Whistle (or Alto F one should say).

  • I am pretty sure that it's an overton Bb whistle

  • he doesnt need to he's a genius !!!!

  • love him..do ye know he cant read or write a note of music??not sure the name of this tune but its on his album fused and he plays it a lot!!

  • its called the trip to herves:)

  • sheer class!

  • what is this song? I have to learn it!

  • the song is trip to herbs

  • lol :D

  • Lol, i posted that ages ago when I thought that was it's name haha.

It's actually called trip to herves, and is a quality tune!

  • Trip to Herbs would be a pretty funny song name, especially for an irish trad song. "Boy, those Irish sure love their green, so to speak." Trip to Herbs is a song I would expect to find on a Greatful Dead album. :D

  • i carnt play much of the tune at all!!! but i can play the very last long note at the end and it matches my low f whistle bang on

  • I think its a G whistle.I ve got a G overton alu,it sounds direct the same.I tried to play the part watching him .Sure its a F whistle?

  • If you actually play the not F on your whistle then you'll quickly realise this is an F whistle

  • its a great tune ide love to be skilled enough to play it.Mybe in a good few year?anyway usual question where will i find the music to it.

  • This guy is honestly one of the most extrordinary muscicians I have ever seen or heard!

  • it's Trip to Herve's

  • Don't know the tune, but it sure has some quirky timing from 4/4 to 6/8 several times, or am I getting tired?

  • it's 4/4 but he does some syncopation at the end of the B part where he's playing in 3's

  • Definitely a low F whistle, aluminum. Can't tell if it's an Overtone. Good job.

  • cool!! lloooove it!

  • do you happen to know if the diameter of the whistle gets smaller from say d to a f it looks about the same

  • so do we know what type and pitch the whistle is then

  • it's a low f whistle , bernhard overtone somwhere in england is a manufacturer of these kind of aluminium whistles.

  • Mick Mcgoldrick Is My Cousin

  • Perfect!

  • Its actually a Chieftain Low F whistle

  • No, is a kerry pro F, handmade for Phil Hardy . Chieftain isn´t handmade and is more cheap although also is make for Kerry whistles

  • hiya micke im monaghanwomen im a bit rusty havent played in a while should pick it up a bit more check me out i have very tiny fingers and cant reach the flute like you can what do you reckon ishould do x

  • Im saying this only in the spirit of being helpful but: Like here, lot of youtube music videos aren't put up by the musicians. Unless it's someone in their room looking into a webcam or the poster says they're the musician, its probably just someone who wants to put the video on youtube. Also, all kinds of bad English gets used here and I'm not complaining, but I think way more people will give you time if you take the time to use punctuation and make what you write more readable.
