It's true that Smith received the revelation for plural marriage back in at 1833, however, he didn't reveal, much less marry other wives, until after 1842. And even then, it wasn't public knowledge until 1850 when, at it's height, only 25% of the TOTAL church membership was asked to practice it. Although the church offers garments with that big swooping neck line, that is only one of the choices. The church also offers a crew neck version as well. That is the kind I wear as well as most of the younger generation I know. It is purely a style preference. The LDS church also offers green garments to military personal. It's not anything sinister, people. The purpose of garments is to be a reminder of the promises we make to God.
