Caste has nothing to do with race,the whole misconception on caste is a western idea where first the Portuguese came up with that term and equated it to race and the fuedal class system prevelent in Europe at the time-"caste" system in India was nothing but division of labour.

In india there are different races, castes, religions, and what not. However, if you think those phony ass indians mocking symonds are doing for his race, you are most possibly wrong. Racism is every where, not only in Australia and every nation has gotten her black history; so enough of judging today australians because of what was done by some people in the past. Go to some medical schools, run by Indians in Caribbeans, and witness how Indian lecturers treat non-Indian students. I visited Canberra few months ago, and the people I met were nice. Here's some relevant info on the caste system coz I see a lot of english-speaking white people talking about it & this is generally the first thing they learn about indians and the first question they ask me about india when they come to know I'm indian.
