@ThankyouMrGeneric I was your age when this and Das Modell came out....I remember being stunned at how clean and new it was compared to UK/US rock. All techno kids are children of Kraftwerk
Another masterpiece by Kraftwerk, as an Englishman I found it better to hear in our German cousins' tounge which is similair but with a better tone to it.
This tracks sounds incredibly futuristic for me. Listening it with my eyes closed makes me feel travelling inside an immense spaceship toward some galaxy.. :P There are no geniuses like Kraftwerk anymore. This track, "Taschenrechner", "Ruckzuck" and "Spacelab" are my favorite songs, not only among Kraftwerk, by among all. I am sure this song will continue to impress many and many other generations of people as it did to me.
@SuperMetallaro97 shut up you cunt if you like coldplays version you could at least have the decency for crediting them for actually making the fucking song dickhead!
@SuperMetallaro97 Bullshit, just because someone is a DJ doesn't give them a complete of music, possibly of rap and techno but that's it, you probablt don't even know what Bach's Symphonies are let alone who Wagner was. I know more about music than you and what's with " i know THE music very more than you", learn to speak English properly please before you start spreading absolute utter crap on here!
Usually I'd say that I like Kraftwerk in German rather than English, but this song is an exception. The German version is still absolutely brilliant, though.
@RedTuttle next time you come home from the Gap after that bisexual free for all gangbang with other ambiguously gay hipsters, hang up your fedora by the door and google this song. It is from the Early 80's, probably before those trendy douchebag hipsters from Generation ME were ever born.
And The Epidemic Made "You Put My Love In A Bottle" Which Was Inspired By Kwaftwerk Type In The Epiidemic On Reverbnation And Check Out The Guy With Mohawk And His Beat Page With The Diamond Skull With Crown
Seriously people... it's a classic troll tactic. I know people are stupid enough that the comment might actually be genuine, but something tells me said individual wouldn't be looking at a Kraftwerk video.
Personally I like the original better but there's no need to hate on Coldplay. Why not just think of it as a them paying tribute to a legend. A lot of new fans came to know Kraftwerk thanks to Coldplay.
BTW: you do not reply to, you flag dumb spam0rs as ... guess what (hint: try the second option from the "Reply" pulldown list). sry for OFF TOPIC comment. and for caps spam ofc :p
Listening to Kraftwerk's original songs is like a whimsical trip in a time machine; the quaint, melodic tunes have the curious effect of making you yearn for the past and hope for the future.
Actually, Chris Martin (from Coldplay) asked an old college friend to write a note in German, in which he asked Florian Schneider if he could use a few riffs from this song. This original version dates back from 1981, while Talk was released in 2005... After some notes back from lawyers and managers, they got a simple answer from Florian: "yes"....
So if you don't know what you're talking about, stop writing useless comments please....
Kraftwerk sued rap producer Moses Pelham for sampling two seconds of their 1977 song 'Metal On Metal' in the track 'Nur Mir' by Sabrina Setlur... and others have stolen and tried to claim as their own, early rap stars etc... : WITH NO SUCCSESS!!!
@LittleGiant12 i support this man! kraftwerk built themselves a time machine using "computer love" and went ahead 25 years to steal a rift from a song that coldplay burrowed from them.
its so bulletproof me and lilgiant scare ourselves with our deduction prowess ;D
@LittleGiant12 HEY DUMBASS! If you're going to be a total moron, do some research. How the hell can Kraftwerk steal from something that wasn't even conceived yet? Kraftwerk was formed in 1970, while Coldplay formed TWENTY SEVEN years later, in 1997. Logical thinking, my arrogant friend. Like nostalg83 said, Coldplay GOT PERMISSION to use their material. Try and be smart next time you comment on something you know nothing about.
Think about our world now with its online dating online porn and virtual life. This track presaged it all.
