Rob, I had this saved for when I decide to level up my pally from 70. I have a friend who just got his mage to 70, going to tank some Northrend stuff. This makes a lot more sence now that I have gone back and reaquainted myself after over a year. I don't have wings or Inq yet though. Also, thanks for the power auras, saved me a bunch of time! I agree now after looking at it Pally is not as faceroll as people make it sound. It's about as much thought as Warr if you are trying to do it right.

I personally think your one of the most in depth prot pally out there.... it feels good to hear someone say that a tankadin is more then slamming your face on the keyboard and rolling from side to side, you really know your shit so fuck everyone else who likes to talk shit

It would be better to:
AS > CS1 > J > CS2 > HW > CS3 (GC PROC) > ShotR > AS > CS4 - If you think about it, it is better do AS at this point as Crusader Strike(4) may proc another GC (thus wasting the initial one).

If done properly on all fights that allow, you should be in melee range right when you get there. An Inquisition-buffed Exorcism + Shield + Judgement + CS + Rotation for remainder of Inq's buff, instead of using that 3 holy power on a non-crit Shield of the Righteous, is FAR more damage.

@Goatsguffle Do you play a prot paladin? Or do you listen to what is said on forums from prepubescent little 12 year olds who run 333/346 runs all day? 4 Abilities? You have it backwards. Druids Warriors DK's have 4 abilities. But none of them have to use it in conjunction with any special mechanics like Holy Power. Any Paladin can spam 4 buttons. But will he be at max tps? Probably not.
@consolecrusader If u think warriors have 4 abilitys they use, try one at 85. If you only use 4 you will be a very shitty tank. I used 9 key binds during wotlk + i klicked some of the rarely used ones. (like CDs and stuff). If they have dumbed it down to 4 skills. then the game should die becuse its suddenly made for 6 year olds.
Really nice video although its really sad that you actually don't need to know any of this to be a decent tank as a pally. Why people say pally tanking is faceroll? cause you can set a rotation in a macro, and with vengeance you actually don't need anything else.

@karieltheone Sorry but this isn't WOTLK. Paladin tanking with HP generation is situation. Does your macro know to hit Grand Crusader AS procs? Don't see that there. Does your macro know how to fish for a SD proc if needed? Don't see it either. It's comments like YOURS that build BAD PALADIN TANKS. Cause you give them these useless macros that worked fine in previous expacs and making them think it works fine in Catacylsm. What a fucking joke.
@consolecrusader Of course that tanking with macros (you are require to use 2 more besides the one i posted) does not take into consideration procs or anything like that, the point it is precisely that it is not require to use your procs in correct manner to hold aggro. The entire HP introduction hasn't chance anything at all, prot pallys are still in essence a cool down based class that plus the introduction of vengeance has turn the class into a faceroll even more than before
@karieltheone Wow I hope you're not a tank. Did you just say it is OK to ignore procs just because vengeance is OP? Look there is a difference between being a tank who knows how to tank. And a tank who presses buttons and relys on a mechanic like vengeance to call themselves good. I think you might be the later. Basically what you are saying if fuck being a good tank press anything and accept it. But I guarantee you my method grants me more threat and more dps and that is a face.
@consolecrusader I can assure you that if you use the correct "priority system" for the initial 20 secs of a boss fight then you can just press any spell at all, completely random, and you still wont lose aggro to a DPS unless of course the out gear you by much. Again, by no means tanking with macros is anywhere close to optimal...but using macros you can still maintain aggro and maybe pay more attention to other things. Pallys are an easy class, that's a fact and there is nothing wrong with it.
@consolecrusader I have a prot pally, a bear and a blood DK, ive killed all bosses in 10 man normal mode but only 3 on heroic...so yeah, no high end progression. And the point off all of this was that to practical ends pallys are still a face-roll class even with all the changes. Granted if you play the class as you are suppose to play it you will generate more threat and do more dps, but if you play it bad you will still maintain aggro. Which at the end of the day its what matters

To all the LUI users who cannot get it to work, simple to do. log in to main character selection. hit addons, then hit load out of date. TADAAA your mind is blown.
The reason your power auras classic aren't showing is because you've clicked "only show when in combat". It's enabled by default, why you can miss it easely.
Towl I've watched you're videos for awhile and ur my fav! I actually had a 85 pally and got bored and quit playing him,and played my shaman. I tried to pvp with my shaman and I got butt raped to fast. So after watching ur vies I now pvp and raid on my port pally. @mattdagger1480 get 3 holy power hit inquisition. get 3 more holy power (should have a sacred duty proc pop) then hit shield of the righteous. Good for PvP not optimal for tanking - in dungeons etc...as you want to keep inquisition up 100% of the time. You can force feed it during burn down phases by supplementing a divine plea in there. Rotation - Pop DP-INQ-Pop Wings-farm three holy power SoTR

what a huge boost in dps and threat. i was able to hit 4-5 inquibooms in a single wings cycle. amazing coming from only 2-3 inquiboom with wings in 4.6
That change where if your SOTR misses and sacred duty stays until your SOTR hits is great i found myself missing alot on heroic bosses that i just kept SOTR out of my rotation
u need to do another class i love ya towelliee but the pally rotation is rlly boreing no offence i rock a prot warrior and i find that a little more fun but keep up the work and maybe roll another class

For people saying DK tanking is easy tank some hard modes and get back to me. It is by far the most complicated tanking class. If i just "spammed" DS i would be dead faster than a mage tanking the boss. You have to "time" deathstrike WHILE following fight mechanics. loladins and warriors saying that they have the hardest tank class is just an insult.

you said for AE tanking to start with avenger shield or hammer, u should always start with avenger shield because it silences, so caster targets will act like melee and run to u for the initial stacking for AE tanking.
@pl2ecision Depends. If there are casters or not. You can always go in hammer everything then hit AS. Wether you hit one of the other makes no difference it is just preference. During aoe tanking if there are ranged targets you can go ahead and start with AS.

@MrBigbuza You would need to elaborate how easier it is than Druid tanking. Druid tanking. Keep Lacerate up, thrash when it falls off, mangle off CD? I have all 4 tanks as well. Paladin tanks have to worry about maxing their rotation via HP and priority system that involves thinking. You can faceroll any of the 4 tanks. People need to get out of the WOTLK mentality and pay attention.

Go play your warrior again! You'll see it's just as fun/engaging with things to manually put up and keep track of if you want to do the shit right.
Hmm....when u have GC proc and CS ready isnt it better to use AS and then CS? Cause GC might get refreshed if u use CS and therefore lose one holy power. Minor but still wondering;)

For someone who speaks so highly of absolutely maximizing threat, damage, etc, your pull isn't optimal.
Divine Plea -> Inquisition -> Avenging Wrath + Exorcism -> Avenger's Shield while running -> Judgement

The reason your power auras classic aren't showing is because you've clicked "only show when in combat". It's enabled by default, why you can miss it easely.

Towl I've watched you're videos for awhile and ur my fav! I actually had a 85 pally and got bored and quit playing him,and played my shaman. I tried to pvp with my shaman and I got butt raped to fast. So after watching ur vies I now pvp and raid on my port pally. @mattdagger1480 get 3 holy power hit inquisition. get 3 more holy power (should have a sacred duty proc pop) then hit shield of the righteous. Good for PvP not optimal for tanking - in dungeons etc...as you want to keep inquisition up 100% of the time. You can force feed it during burn down phases by supplementing a divine plea in there. Rotation - Pop DP-INQ-Pop Wings-farm three holy power SoTR

That change where if your SOTR misses and sacred duty stays until your SOTR hits is great i found myself missing alot on heroic bosses that i just kept SOTR out of my rotation

For people saying DK tanking is easy tank some hard modes and get back to me. It is by far the most complicated tanking class. If i just "spammed" DS i would be dead faster than a mage tanking the boss. You have to "time" deathstrike WHILE following fight mechanics. loladins and warriors saying that they have the hardest tank class is just an insult.

you said for AE tanking to start with avenger shield or hammer, u should always start with avenger shield because it silences, so caster targets will act like melee and run to u for the initial stacking for AE tanking.

@pl2ecision Depends. If there are casters or not. You can always go in hammer everything then hit AS. Wether you hit one of the other makes no difference it is just preference. During aoe tanking if there are ranged targets you can go ahead and start with AS.

@MrBigbuza You would need to elaborate how easier it is than Druid tanking. Druid tanking. Keep Lacerate up, thrash when it falls off, mangle off CD? I have all 4 tanks as well. Paladin tanks have to worry about maxing their rotation via HP and priority system that involves thinking. You can faceroll any of the 4 tanks. People need to get out of the WOTLK mentality and pay attention.

The Inquisition aura wasn't coming up because you probably have "in combat" checked, and you wern't in combat yet (Derp) :p! Thumbs up and favoriting for when I get back to leveling my pally. By the way I think I like your button facade skin better than mine, I'll have to go look at your UI vid again and see what its called.
Go play your warrior again! You'll see it's just as fun/engaging with things to manually put up and keep track of if you want to do the shit right.

Hmm....when u have GC proc and CS ready isnt it better to use AS and then CS? Cause GC might get refreshed if u use CS and therefore lose one holy power. Minor but still wondering;)
