@coolmonfrere Believe it or not, I was just using that window. I usually do use some flash, but for the video guys we kept it super-simple. It made the edit a bit easier I think. It's just that sometimes your shutter speed might get a little long with the low light and you'll need a solid camera support.
On that project, our food stylist was Jennifer Danter, for Chatelaine Magazine.
@joshayes1 Sure, you can. This guy's work is not even that good.
Although lighting is critical when working in a studio, so you're might need some appropriate lighting equipment. A couple of speedlights, a sofboxes and some bouncing materials will do the job if you're just starting off. Skills with lighting, colors, style and food preparatory is, of course, essential. Start practicing and maybe one day you will be as experienced as this guy...
Absolutely. Maybe use a lens a little longer than normal and find a big light source that gives you some nice shadow and highlights. Maybe one of your friends has a great dish they can make for you.
i've been wondering about this specific field of photography latly. i find food very enjoyable to shoot. & it is a gr8 feeling to know that ur working in the arts & doing something u luv!
Great, Really interesting !

2 questions:
- Were is the lighting set up? I can't believe you are only shooting with natural light.
- Who is your food stylist?

I dont like the way he frames some of the shots of the food in frying pans . Some of his shots are ok and some are awesome.
