In my opinion this is the game that led the yankees to win the world series. After joe's toss Fransisco Cervelli came up and his hit first homerun of the season, after that was history.
@ThugginBeemer750 are you fucking joking? do you have any idea how hardit is to manage? especially the most celebrated franchisee in the game. u definitley do not know the managerial aspects of baseball. he does not sit on his ass. he leads a championship team. think before you speak douche tickle.
I was at this game and I've got to tell you, when he got kicked out the place erupted as loud as it did for any home run. Yankee fans were screaming for the ump to throw him out, just to see a manager actually stick up for his players for once after 12 years of Torre. Great moment. I think he endeared himself in a big way that night.
umpire should haved tossed him as soon as he came out of the dugout. No reason to let him come out and argue balls and strikes and he knew that is what he was coming out to do.
Girardi knew he was getting tossed from this game. There's really nothing the ump can do. Even if he tossed him when he stepped out of the dugout, Girardi was going to get his argument in. So I think both Girardi and the ump handled it as well as can be expected.
That was a great moment and I remember what a horseshit call that was. The ump had the balls to claim that Giambi foul tipped the ball into the catcher's glove off the knob of the bat. Replay after replay showed otherwise and if it did tip of the knob, you would think you would've been able to hear it.

LOL. What day did this happen, 'cause I don't think I watched this game. Good thing you posted it! I went to a game on July 19th and Joe argued a pitch for a few seconds, but didn't get ejected or have a big fit like he did here!
not nemore!!! hahaha...what happened July 6,2008????? Did Brett Gardner kill Papelbon??? Nd if ud like da Yankees den y waste time to put yankees in ur username.
Oh man, I got goosebumps when this happened! I loved Joe Torre don't get me wrong, but it was just so great to see this kind of fire from our skipper. Best part of it is that since this happened, we've gone on a five game winning streak. LET'S GO YANKS!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Man thanks for posting this ! I was hoping someone at that game would have got it on video and put it up here. Its great to hear what it sounded like from the stands. Thanks so much !!!!!!
i agree, thats why i love college sports..because in college, there not getting payed to play, they're playing for the love of the game. and that makes the game so much better
lulz at collage players only playing for just the love of the game alot of them play collage sports to get into the pros or they play for the scolarship
Here's a fun fact for all you Yankee fans: Joe Torre has a better record managing LA so far this year than does Girardi with the most expensive team in baseball!
In my opinion this is the game that led the yankees to win the world series. After joe's toss Fransisco Cervelli came up and his hit first homerun of the season, after that was history.
