BeatBox Tutorial- Throat Pulse/Techno Bass

This is a good way to teach people. However, it is MUCH easier to get the sound vocalized if you try to mix "unce" with it. This not only projects it, but adds a nice high hat sound to the end. On the other hand, it is harder to combine with other sounds while doing this..

@chistiluvsu nope girls can't i think. You gotta be able to do a low voice, which thats probably hard for girls o.o idk though. But your lucky, you can do techno kick, which requires a high voice. And I can't do it without my voice cracking and my throat hurting like hell D:

lol I saw my camp counselor doing that when I was 9 and I had no idea what he was doing and I didn't care, it didn't look anything special and I just started doing it for a couple secs and stopped caring. I just recently learned its used for beatboxing lol

i have a real problem with this. i think because im a girl my voice may be to high to really hit the base, which is a shame as it's the only noise i have problems with.

am i doing it wrong or can you recomend an alternative?

Just keep practicing it. I cant really think of an alternative throat base unless you could somehow use your tongue and mouth to do a muffled bass/kick like a dry kick inside your mouth. That would be cool. I would imagine that if you continue to practice you will find your own sound that may be usable for something like this.

the techno bass beat is my 1st beat i learn fr beatboxing,but i cant reli do the beat and the tongue sound together ,i only can do beats only got any tips how to make the tongue combine easily wit the beat when doing the techno bass?

I would try to slow your beat down even slower than you might think and really work on the pronunciation and volume of your bass while adding in hi-hats then eventually throw in some snares and other unique noises. Its all about repetition and practice. Always start out slow and work your speed up once your sounds are crisp and robust.

Really try to put as much pressure and pronunciation behind your noises. Especially all the basses and snares. Just go all out when you're practicing : )

You know, smokers, when doing that, feel a litle ithcy...hm...right in the spot where the tongue begins...can't explain very well by writing.

you can prolongue the bass sound ...in the end of the throat pulse, you can open the throat, and open up your maxilars, with the two lips sticked together...and you can get an extra bass sound from your nose in the end of this one.

Hey radman. Most people can imitate the technique pretty well at first. I took me a while to get it as loud as I have it now. Maybe if you met me in person...

I have experimented with mixing in other noises with the Throat Pulse like humming and snares but that requires more advanced techique so keep it up man. Sounds like your doing awesome.

i finally got it working by accident,

what i did was just put my lips together (like kissing) and say the word "do" and start saying it harder & with more emphasis, then you should be able to feel the pulse in your throat

that should be a good base and you can figure out the rest, from there what i did was use my toungue to block off the air completely from my mouth and this will reveal another method for you to get the pulse even deeper and stronger, hope it helps
