I was there for this event and although I knew Scott and a little bit about DrumStrong, I truly "got" what he was all about this time. Truly amazing and right at the "heart" beat of the matter.
Scott Swimmer Thanks you very much for this good druSTRONG event post to us Kilele Foundation Kenya. I am looking forward for another event of drumSTRONG Kenya. Thanks you for biting cancer out of the world, please lets drumSTRONG the whole of Africa together.
DRUMSTRONG's Presentation to the TEDxCharlotte Conference 10-15-11 was extremely well received and a whole lot of rhythmic fun. Folks 'got it'.
We were honored to share our passion with the wide-open and embracing audience of 700+ at Queens University Charlotte, NC.
Scott Swimmer ended his talk on the Why, What, Where and How of DRUMSTRONG by encouraging folks to listen to their heart beat, play along with it on their bodies, and embrace/appreciate/support their neighbor's and community's pulse.
Gentle, steady, unified heartbeat rhythm ensued with Mason Swimmer playing on one big drum from stage.
While Master Facilitator Dave Holland took the Body Percussion from there to other-worldly levels, we distributed 700 Boomwhackers, fortified the rhythm with 12 DRUMSTRONG drummers from stage, and at the finalé, invited people to "place" a wish/hope/prayer into their Boomwhackers and LAUNCH them

I have been a drummer since the mid-sixties and I understand this completely and think this is a more than wonderful cause and effort. John Martin
