  • Actually, dariustate2008 Yang Yilin is 16 years old. She weighs 77 lbs. All gymnasts need to be small in order to do complicated stunts. she's only 4'11" too.

  • Why the hell do people think this girl is of age? She can't be any older than 12.

  • I love YYL...her lines and style actually remind me of Amelia Racea...or to be more precise, Amelia Racea reminds me of YYL, slender, willowy, etc.

  • Watching this routine reminds me of why cranes (the birds) are considered to be so beautiful. I know she cleaned up her routine a lot for the Olympics, but she moves so well here!

  • maybe she needs to eat a cheeseburger shes tooo skinny to be a good gymnast

  • Who's doing the FX while Yang does the Balance Beam...is it Regine Reynoso's Floor Music?!?!??!

  • Shawn Johnson won ;)

  • who won this competition?

  • I really admire Yang Yilin but I reckon she looks kinda weak, this is not what I could see at Beijing where she shone and amazed the world.

  • us tall gymnasts can not exactly control the lengths of our bodies..

  • like nasti and shawn!!!

  • Who's floor music is that? It used to be Monette Russo's.

  • its eketerina kramerenko of russias

  • wow!i really love Yang Yilin!her form, gracefulness and her long legs!she wowed me!this girl is great!

  • she is very light and thin!!!

  • i heard that she was only 14 when she did this. don't you have to be 16 tho?

  • no you can compete at worlds with the age of 14..but you have to be 16 at the Olympic Games.

  • At the worlds the year before the olympics you can as young as 14 so long as you are turning 16 in the Olympic year, and at the olympics you can be 15 but have to be turning 16 in that year.

  • Well you can be 14 turning 15 in the calendar year cause World is the only way to qualify for the Olympics. So in the Olympics she was 15 turning 16. You can see the same thing with Marine Petit for Fance. She was 14 here and 15 turning 16 in the Olympics. She was the youngest in the World an in the Olympics.

    I hope you'll understand better now^^

  • Hen hao! so very long legs.

  • This girl is actually the best gymnast I have seen in a long long time.

Her technique and grace are just amazing.

I did gymnastics when I was young...So, I know how to judge. This girl is fabulous!!!

  • I agree!

  • The Chinese were without doubt the best gymnasts in this Olympics.

The world should accept that the world of Gymnastics has a new Champion that will write history from now on. And that is China.

To all other people who write bad comments about Chinese gymnastics. Please just accept and congratulate the new winner.

The Gold medal was well deserved.

These girls have so much power and such extraordinary elegance. It is just amazing...

  • I have to agree with you on that one!!

  • I agree with you. And are you korean?

  • she's very elegant

  • i like chnse gymnast BETTER than american gymnast..but i dunno y..hahah!!:)

  • I could listen to a Chinese person speak all day! Their language is so lovely and melodic, and they are a culturally rich people.

  • She looks more mature than some others

  • i couldn't believe that the US media was blaming the judges(they're not from countries that are good at gymnastics) when Nastia lost. I mean, do all food taster cooks. it make America and Americans looked so bad, and what's sadder is that the public buy that.

  • I agree, and I love that analogy...do all food tasters cook... Again its a media with an agenda. And people who challenge their actions or remarks are frequently labeled as unpatriotic, commies etc. And yes the public bought it hook line and sinker. Personally I think Yang Yilin deserved better than a bronze in uneven bars, but hey...what cha gonna do

  • yes!!!!!! i liked what you said, that's exactly how i feel!!!!!!!! being a chinese, i cannot say that i hate the americans, but i can certainly say i feel they are really rude and fucking shit!!!!!!!!

  • Typical comments by Americans who believe that they deserve everything called first place. Accept the fact that other countries have, and are working hard to do well. When they win, quit whining and screaming foul. Being a bit more humble as well couldn't hurt, I am tired of seeing the over the top celebration by Americans when they win especially in athletic, but when someone does the same for an equally or more outstanding feat, they get slammed by the American media. Go Jamaica and China!!!!

  • Havent you figured it out yet? It is the fear of the Chinese gymnast. There are thousands of over-sized teenaged American gymnast that have learned that they will never be gold-medalist, as long as a Chinese gymnast is in the house. Fact is, the Chinese gymnast is the best in the world. And we have to learn that we are not entitled to the gold medal. Good for the Chinese girls, they were better that night. And we need to stop whining, it is embarrassing.

  • Oh for the record, Ive figured it out a long time ago. I completely understand what is going on. And secondly I agree with you for the most part. American gymnasts have stand out qualities just like other countries e.g China's artistry and Russia consistency. But behaving as if they have the right to win is not only nauseating but it fuels the hatred many countries feel for the US. The media deserves a great share of the blame; Bob Costas and his ilk. It is embarrassing for intelligent Americans

  • you know, not all americans feel that way. most athletes were very classy, for example shawn johnson. the americans who scream and get angry about losing are the ones who are heard because the ones with sportsmanship stay quiet. believe me, i am american and i don't feel that america was entitled to first place. china was amazing and a lot of my friends at school also agree. it's the rude americans that embarrass us all, but they are not the majority of us and its unfair to stereotype us all.

  • Im sorry if you felt as if I made a blanket statement which includes all Americans...but if you look carefully at my last posting you'll see that I said "...It is embarrassing for intelligent Americans" I completely understand your plight however and your explanation. The more divisive ones are those who are heard the most because frankly they are louder. And again, a media with an agenda can lineup people around the block to support their commentary, but what I haven't seen is enough outrage...

  • now i see what you are saying, and i agree with you. sorry, i just misread your comment :)

  • outrage by those said intelligent individuals. Outrage that they are being misrepresented internationally. Shawn Johnson is an absolute class act. Haven't seem such classiness since Venus Williams...another American! For every country with the resources to enter every sport (like US, China, Germany, Russia) there are 20 other countries that get only a few shots at a medal. Those countries deserve respect as well. But there should also be respect among the aforementioned powerful nations.

  • that is true. I agree that people should be more outraged and stand up against those that have earned Americans the reputation of being ignorant and pompous. some of the best moments of the Olympics were when those smaller countries and underdogs won medals. so many American athletes are given so much, and so many of them squander it. so it's great to see those athletes from underdog countries who are so grateful to be on the podium. and you are right, they deserve respect as well.

  • Thank you. And as a Jamaican I can completely agree when you say that smaller countries having a huge moment is extremely fulfilling. To see my country perform so well is indescribable. On another note however, I think that the stereotypical American demeanor at the Olympics is a direct function of culture, where too many have a hyperbolized understanding of what patriotism is. The continuous chanting of USA! USA! USA!, constantly telling people that they are number one etc, doesn't help.

  • I think I understand what you mean by your second point. That Americans think the only way to show patriotism is to make sure everyone knows that they are number one, and better than everyone else. It's great for Americans, and everyone for that matter, to show pride in their country, but I see where you're coming from. And wow, you must have been really proud during the track meet at the Olympics! The Jamaican team rocked!

  • Yeah!! We won the 100 M and 200 M men in world record time. All the medals in the women's 100 M and the 200 M women's gold. Ive never seen a country do that before let alone one as small as mine. Sadly I was not in Jamaica when it happened...I was in the US...so my celebration was muted to say the least. But I was proud. I became a bit infuriated when Bob Costas and Jaques Rogge tried to jump all over Usain bolt when he celebrated his victory...when Ive seen the US do the same.

  • Yeah I was really impressed. I personally enjoyed Usain Bolt's celebration. He just smashed a world record, let the man be happy! He is quite a character though :). Definitely one of my favorite Olympians. I also really like Veronica Campbell-Brown.

  • Thanks! We are proud of them as well.

  • Why you have so jealous !!!!!!!!!!

Shut up all of you!!! - The chinese team are the best - Have the best bodies; they are elegant( see Yang Yilin - no comment - i never see i gimnastic so elegant like her); they are mentally very strong and finally they deserve to win because see how they practice, they have intensive trainning!!!

So shut up and be with your silver medal ahahahaahahahahaah!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE CHINA AND CHINESE PEOPLE !!!

  • you guys just need to stop insulting her. you're just americans who like to insult asian girls because of how skinny they are or how weird they look. well they are not so shut up and get out of youtube.

  • I tried to gain weight for so many years, still 90lbs without any weight control, the doctors in US warned me but it just couldnt help.

  • yeah, just look at her muscles and think of all the protein she must have ate before all the workouts than gave rise to those muscles.. sheesh, not all gymnasts are anorexic u noe -.-

  • she disappear when shes goes sides way lmao so skinny.

  • nah, american's are just fat. try not to get used to it.

  • she has great legs :O so straight.

  • why do they insist on not feeding the chinese gymnasts..? i mean she looks VERY elegant and graceful, but when she turns to the side she disappears.

besides that, she has a mean front tuck. great dance as well

  • if you go to Chinese middle & high schools, you see tons of girls as skinny as her. It tends to be a generic thing. In fact, American teens are either over-weight or very skinny, as I noticed. I quited gymnastics when I was 12. but I was still under 100 lb when I turned 18. No weight control at all...

  • For the most part, yes, American teens are either real skinny or overweight, but some are average.

Besides that, Asians are really skinny in general.

  • @66QQ66 i agree with you, the thing about american girls are that they eat unhealthy shit to make them selves obese and old.

  • @66QQ66 me too im 11 and 67 pounds trust me, im not anorexic. my parents are skinny and light

  • believe me if she wasnt eating she wouldnt be able to do anything acrobatic. to be a gymnist ud have to have a lot of strength and u wudnt be able to obtain that w/o a healthy diet.

  • She missed two connections of 0.2 value each one, needs to improve her dismount

  • To be perfectly honest, I don't like her on this event.

  • She should work on that Turn

I never saw her do it well
