6 Douchebags are pissed, not only because they couldn't / we're too lazy to join the airforce, but couldn't have flown a commercial jet if they wanted to, because their too fucking dumb and inept.
@jaidafat11 About 2 g's. A trained and fit pilot can only take about seven g's before blackout but the suit lets them go to about nine g's. (Many of the most modern fly-by-wire jets actually limit themselves to 9 g's in a turn so that the pilots can stay conscious.) The flight suits accomplish this by inflating bladders around the legs and squeezing them, thus pushing a bit more blood back into the upper body. Training and fitness is still key to make it through that many g's, though.
can someone tell me where the tube connected to the pilots mask goes? i know it helps with air but i dont know if its connected to his suit or a oxygen tank or the jet itself, anyone wanna tell me?
@123thatoneguy The F/A-18 has an onboard oxygen generating system that pulls from the outside air, concentrates the oxygen and delivers it to the pilot.
The hose itself is actually connected to a port in the cockpit.
@123thatoneguy The oxygen line goes through a regulator on the pilots chest. From their it goes into the left console in the cockpit. The oxygen comes from bleed air off the engines through the On Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS).
Hey Producer, Nice work!!... Can you give us one w/a split screen and one side showing the control inputs for these manuevers??... Is this possible for you?.. Who produced this. ??...
Far out outstanding sir, one of the best in-cam aerial video I've ever seen. The sound of rushing air, the humming compressor etc. Couldnt ask for more.....
@stiffdogg06 Yeah, he'll be wearing what's called a G-suit. They help increase your G tolerance by about 1.5G. But you'll be surpised to know the Blue Angel F18 pilots don't wear them.....under G they inflate and bump your forearm resting on your leg when you're trying to fly smoooooothly in a real tight formation!
what's on the attack side of the wings that keeps dropping during high g's? never noticed before? almost like a flap. used for more lift in turns maybe?
@kosnow11 They are Leading Edge Flaps. They work in relation to the Alpha or angle of attack of the wing. When the AoA is high, the LEFs extend down increasing the camber of the front part of the wing.....they keep the air flowing nicely over the wing to prevent stalling. When you see all that white fluff ripping off the front sides of the plane, that means the aircraft is at high AoA. They don't really work in relation to g-force. If you pulled 8G @ 600kts, they won't move as the AoA is low.
@kosnow11 This display is mainly flown at low speed, so whenever the pilot does pull G, the AoA builds very rapidly and the LEFs deploy quickly. They start to work generally when the speed is below about 300 knots.
@Adrian351 Awesome, thanks for the info. Father's an x14 pilot. Got my wings too for civilian. Never noticed the LEFs on the 18's before. Makes sense though. I would assume they're used on other aircraft as well?
@kosnow11 Yep, they are used on a lot of other aircraft, passenger planes and fighters, but not all. The F-15 for example has what's called a "stiff wing" where it has no LEFs, just a small fixed amount of camber or down curve along the front of the wing. For this reason, it can't pull as much AOA as the Hornet, so if an F15 gets real slow, the F18 could have the advantage. Big passenger jets have LE SLATS - they have an air gap between the flap and wing which helps recharge air over the wng.
poor guy is pulling serious Gs! I'd be puking me brains out if i wasn't too busy blacking out...
i've pulled out of a spin and seriously... 5 seconds at 1.5 Gs is enough to make me start to think "ok this needs to stop cuz if i keep it up ill puke"
Psssh thats Canadian pilots of course yould guys run from a dogfight ur just like the French. American pilots are like the honey badger they dont give a fuck
@akngac5 Many pardons, I guess I stand corrected. But please don't take it so personally next time lol. Just fyi, I'm part of the NROTC program, and I've chosen pilot as my pipeline, and to this day I had never heard of Marine F/A-18's, only F-16's. With that said, I admit that I was wrong.
Hey, sorry if I came off sounding that way, didn't mean too. Good luck in your new aviation career pursuit. I am in Naval aviation twenty years and have worked in joint training ops with Marine Corps. aviators who fly the legacy Hornets. The Marines do fly the F-16 Falcon aggresors. Marine pilots are the elite and really do some damage with Falcons in thier inventory of war machines!
@akngac5 That's pretty awesome, I had the option of becoming a Marine Pilot, but my family has a lot of Navy history so I decided to stick to my roots. I still have another year before I really start flight training though, but I'm definitely excited for it!
@updisho My high school GPA was actually pretty average to be honest. Anywhere between 2.0 and 2.5 at times. I think I left high school with a 2.4 lol. But I didn't join the NROTC until after I was in college to become a commercial pilot. I found out later that I could join the NROTC, as long as you are under 24 years old you can join, having good SAT and ACT scores are handy.
@TheJapozi Yeah I was wrong. I don't really associate much with Marines so I was unaware. But this isn't even an American pilot anyway, so the USMC is irrelevant anyway.
This is how a YouTube video should be done!!! No lame ass music just the sound of the turbines and the airframe battling against the air. Fucking awesome!!!
Great vid but all i could look at was the shoulder strap slowly falling off his right shoulder lol i just couldnt stop watching it. If he ejected he would be fucked.

@TrackStar828 im sorry are u a pilot ? looks like NOT, im not talking about mig 29 lol that one will even give the hornet a hard time :) but its all about the pilot when it comes to those two :) M TALKING ABOUT MIG 35 BABY LOL look in to it, hornet sgot nothing on mig 35 :)
@Mr405m You just said it depends on the pilot, then you go on to say the f18 has no chance against the mig35. Hypocrisy? Dude, it does depend on the pilot. There hasn't been a dogfight between the two jets, and you are obviously some armchair expert who hasn't flown both. On paper the mig35 is stronger in most areas but that is not sufficient enough to judge which would win in a dogfight.
@TrackStar828 i said for the mig (29) it depends on the pilot lol im a licenced pilot for 5 years now, and my flight instructor was in the canadian airforce for 9 years he flew the f18 we talked about it on many ocasions, he said one thing that they were told is if u ever get in a close dog fight with the mig 29 and ur on ur own (meaning u got no wingman) get the fuck out of there as soon as u can, the mig 29 carries a helmet mounted sight and in a close dog fight ur fucked
@TrackStar828 the old hornet has no headmounted sight, the fa18superhornet does i was told, but only the newer models, and thats regarding mig29 not mig35 i was saying mig35 there is no chance in hell the fa18 has a chance against that one lmao mig 35 has long and short radar capabiities and better thrust to weight ratio then the mig 29 and the mig 29 already has better weight to thrust ratio then the hornet, what i was told by an expert is run if u get close to a mig
@TrackStar828 also there was a flight traning conducted in germany a few years ago against the best mig 29 pilots in germany, the new american students wanted to face the real mig29 in traning, so they flew to germany, the german pilots had to cut down on their tactics to let the students get a chance on the mig29, wich in my opinion is a clear sign the mig out preforms the hornet in a dogfight, also the usa pilots said they were dazeled by the migs abilities on take off, the thing is a rocket
@Mr405m You're an idiot. They were STUDENTS. Of course they aren't going to be able to take on the conditioned german pilots. Give me three USMC ace pilots and the story would be different, trust me. Again, this was a training exercise and there are many variables which aren't evident in the real scenarios. You can't say a MIG35 can take on a F/A 18 based off of a training exercise with a few students in Germany. Also, link me to where you found this info. I think you might be making that up.
@TrackStar828 did u get my other messages ? about me being a pilot for 5 years and having talked personaly with pilots who fly the f18 and are now retired, who were told in the army if u get in a close fight with the mig29 and ur on ur own (meaning no wingmen with u) get the fuck out of there right away, the hornet is good for far long range attack but long rage attacks can be easely avoided lol im talking about a dogfight lol close fight mig29 prevails go talk to a few pilots and ul be suprised
@Mr405m I have talked to a few pilots and they have told me the MiG platform will not outperform an F-18. They said the F-18 can outrun and out maneuver any MiG or Sukhoi jet. The Army does not fly jets, the Air Force, Navy, and Marines do. Look at the MiG track record against American Jets. It is totally not good. Also, the MiG was made before modern day Hornets or Super Hornets, and the Hornet was designed specifically to counter Russian Aircraft. I am a pilot myself. Hornet wins. Trust me.
Anyone notice his right shoulder strap becomes totally removed during the flight? Watch the strap come loose as the mission progresses. Good thing he didn't have to eject, or he would have had a problem hahaha
It isn't smoke. It is vapor caused by a vortex (whirling mass of air). Wingtip and stabilizer vortexes also produce a stream of vapor seen toward the left and right of the plane.
when he does a sharp turn right what is that smoke stuff that shows on the winds in a big cloud and when he takes off that little tiny line of smoke shown mostly on his right wing

Guy's heart / beathing rate is insane on the first airfield fly-by, cant but wonder if he hadn't pondered an early landing.
