  • why dont they allow scouts this kind of knife anymore?

  • what should i oil my knives with? thanks

  • @ishotthesherifswife

It vary's and some argue specific kinds but any light-grade machine oil works fine.

Gun oil is also fine as well.

Just recheck it every six months or so if it's in storage or less than that if it's everyday use.

  • @SWAT487

    G Shock.

  • My dad has a really similar knife to this as well.

He got his 30 years ago (ish) and has used it since then.

It's stood the test of time really well. the brand is Mundial, they do chef knives now.

    Good video,

  • I have a similar knife given to me ages ago, I believe mines a stick tang as I can see the point at the bottom of the handle.

These knife are often overlooked or snubbed but tbh they work :o) 5/5 for review

  • Is there anyhting stamped on teh blade coz it resembles a blade I have! It was said to be a scout knife! Is the blade stamped because I am trying to date mine!

  • Wow 50 years old! Thats impressive!

  • ok, your knife is known has a stacked leather handle and they were made just after the war, i'm a pensioner and i have had my knife since 1952, its bigger than yours with a smaller one added on the outside, took it to jamboree with the scouts on many a camping trip, great times.

  • if you want to sell it i will buy it. negabar

  • @negabar

Thanks, but no thanks mate. :)

  • your fathers scout knife is about 60 years old, i have one, the knife is all one and the handle is made of leather washers stacked on top of each other, a very good steel from sheffield, the knife will clean up good, and the brass washers in the handle. terbar

  • @negabar

    Thanks, I'll look into that.

  • Wow, I like the blade, would I be correct in calling it a Bowie? Any idea where I could get a hold of one, I like the sheath and all!

  • @eldiablo9604

    Thanks mate.

I've no idea for getting this exact knife I'm afraid.

The best bet is to get hold of a traditional bladesmith in the UK, there are a few online that make knives from scratch like this one.

It's not a bowies knife, it's too small.

The next few uploads will have one that's a rival to the Bowie knife! :)

  • @WatchRyder Great, I like to look at knives, no matter how similar to others I have seen in the past, I always get the same feeling of how unique any knife is. The knives on your channel are always very nice looking knives. I'll look into that.

Have you heard about or seen the mini's from SpyderCo?

They are cracking little knives. The ladybug etc. Good size knives that no doubt could come on handy, I'm going to buy some when I get round to it.

  • @eldiablo9604

Thanks mate, no not heard of the mini's from SpyderCo mate.

    Will look into them...
