@g4ea Yes the 911 starts before the GTR. BUT, the clock starts as the car crosses the laser line. Meaning the GTR could have started later and finished behind the beautiful 911, and still could have won. But it did not.

With Switzer R1K and Alpha 12 GTR, I don't think that any modded Porsche has a chance to win again. These GTRs even beat 9ff porsches. They are virtually unbeatable by modded Porsches.... Respect to 911 FTW, this time!

well this GTR had 850 HP and the porsche had 800, it was down 50 HP. also, there are 1000 HP porsches out there and they make much better use of their power than GTRs. trust me, the 997 turbo is the ELITE. a 1200 HP porsche owns a 1200 HP GTR. if you watch the texas mile, these 1000 HP porsches have a trap speed of 366 Km/Hr or greater. it's just a better chassis, better drivetrain, better engine, etc. also, see this video: watch?v=X_dBK8wG_4w&feature=mf­u_in_order&list=UL

@Seventh7Art I agree, the DCT in the GTR lets us run incredible times in the 1/4 mile as well as trap speeds.

Our R1K GTR holds the record for the fastest GTR or Porsche 60-130MPH run with a 3.85 seconds. The GTR is superior from a dig and is very potent from a roll - no boost loss on shifts like a Porsche 997TT. It is only a matter of time until the GTR is knocking on 400kph in the mile...

@SwitzerPerf Exactly. Only when 911 PDK reaches 800-900 whp, it might threaten R1K GTR. The 911 Tiptronic transmission cannot handle so much power. The manual gearbox is not good for other reasons (shift time, boost loss, possible slow shifts etc.)

so PDK is the only way for Porsche. But will 997.2 Turbo PDK reach 1000+ horsepower anytime soon? And when/if it does so, Switzer GTRs will produce well over 1000 whp....

Great races, that P800 997 Turbo is running hard! However, on that last race, had both cars launched at the same time the GT-R would've won. The GT-R was creeping on the 997. Did you race the Koenigsegg? That's the race I want to see!

it honestly doesn't matter what time the GTR starts, there's a motion senser that starts a timer when you cross the start line, and it measures the total time after the mile. even if the GTR started a second late, it would still post the same mile time. the Porsche just posted a faster time, hence even if the GTR started at the same time, the Porsche still would've won. it may look like the GTR started late due to the Porsche's superior launchability. that was also GTRs best run

The Koenigsegg at Unlim ran the 1/4 mile slower than a good driver in a 5.0 mustang gt, and his 60 ft times could be beaten by a honda civic (not exaggerating). I think a driver mod is needed, or am I missing something?

no, the GTR got a good launch. the time it set at that last race was its best time at the event: 26.152. the Porsche is just faster, set a time of 26.127, faster than any of the GTR's times
