  • The Bible doesn't state that's its wrong.....modern translations might but that's because they errors and biased anti gay translators.

The original hebrew and greek intrepreted through context etc. is not anti gay.

KJV is the most pro gay Bible....use that.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I grew up christian and came out last year; after six years of going through heavy anti-gay therapy, four years of cutting and anorexia and countless years of self-hate, mind you. Ever since, I've really been struggling with how to understand the Bible and what it says about gays. Thank you. This has helped me immensely.

  • Info I'm coming out slowly but I was raised my whole life as church going homosexual hater and come to find myself one.

  • Again thank you for your amazing way of looking at the world of christian religion thank you for your

  • As the son of a Pastor, and having read the Bible many times: it is VERY clear that the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong. The real question is: do you want a 2000+ year old book from a backward society and the blind faith of idiots who can't think for themselves to run your life, or would you rather do it yourself?

  • ... No the Bible clearly states multiple times that being gay is worthy of death. It also lashes out against women, has hints of racism and condones rape and slavery... and genocide.

I'm not religious so it means f/all to me what a book scribbled by dehydrated goat herders from 3000 years ago says.

  • You make some good points. Very few people actually think about the bible's composition. "Eyewitness accounts" of events that were actually taken from older texts or else from the account of someone that knew someone who knew someone whose brother was there. Plus the bible was made up by a council who decided on the books to include and decided against others- what's to say they chose correctly? In addition, you're right, language and translation and idioms need to be considered.

  • Hey, I'm a gay man, but I have to mention- when you say that the bible doesn't say homosexual intercourse is worthy of death, I'm pretty sure (from what I remember of reading it) that it does only a little while later on. With that in mind, although your theory is attractive, it seems counter-intuitive to suggest that they would punish men for inhibiting population growth by killing them and thus decreasing the population. However- (character limit...)

  • Let me start out by saying I am a gay man I have been in the fight for gay rights sins the 70’s. I am also a recovering southern Baptist. I learned a long time ago that it has nothing to do with us being gay. Its Thar need to HATE!

You can not change them SO GO AROUND THEM. Thar like the KKK. I love God with All my hart. It will get better win the younger generation is running the show. I love your Chantal keep up the good work

  • Woot! ur vids are always interesting!!!!

  • I like to point out, Matthew 19:10-12. Where Jesus points out that some men will not want to be with women, and they with be that way from the womb.

  • My Catholic mother used to simply comment on gay kids, "It's their nature. They have to the according to their nature. And that's enough on that."

As you point out, Leviticus condemns adultery, stating that male and female adulterers should be put to death. In the USA the most aggressively anti-gay Christian group has the highest rate of adultery and divorce. They love quoting Leviticus on homosexuality. LOL

  • you rock! just wanted to say that :)

  • Just ran across your channel and this video. Well said! You might want to check out the Gay Christian Network channel and the associated website. Much along the lines of what you've said here. Congrats on a lucid account!!

  • Good job. Your stance, ultimately, is correct. However, some may be able to poke holes in your logic. Two chapters later in Lev. 20, it is commanded that a man who lies with a man be put to death. Also, while homogenital acts where seen as negative based on cultural grounds, there is some evidence that b'delugma (abomination) caries moral significance as well. (This is further bolstered by the proscription for death later.) Nonetheless, we don't follow The Law, but Love as exemplified by Jesus.

  • Hi I am one of your extremely new fans to this video and I just want to say that you are very inspiring and you only contribute to the hope that is instilled in me regarding the world and the society's views on sexuality. I am gay as well and I came out this year for my first year of college. I think your very attractive and your valentines video made me cry. You make me so happy and I would love for you to keep up your work. It would be amazing if i could get an email in case of ?s i may have.

  • @Realtip300 hey, thanks! You can always just private message me on Youtube if you have any questions =] I get a fair few, but I endeavour to get through them all.

    Hope you're keeping well x

  • yeah, bibles, torahs, qu'rans (idk how to spell it) and most other religions, dont view homosexuality as wrong, they only view anal sex as wrong and sinful. And really, everyone who believes that homosexuality is wrong really is wrong!

  • This is probably one of the most brilliant videos regarding that particular passage.

Very impressive. I knew I subbed to you for a reason.

    :-)

  • Unfortunately, as we know religion relies on dogma rather than reason and intellect so even if your argument is very straightforward and pertinent, I doubt that most religious people would be willing to even acknowledge such arguments. In any case, what we call mainstream religion has moved beyond most of what is described in Leviticus centuries ago. Hence, social conservatives who selectively hang onto these old proscriptions for LGBTs exclusively obviously lack intellectual honesty...

  • Lev 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

Also, I have a neighbor who insists on working the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states that he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

  • Christ died once, for all.

  • That is such a strong point! The evolution of meaning of words causes so much problems today and it's something that the majority will never be educated about. Thank you SO much for this. I'll definitely have to share this!

    Isaiah :D

  • The Bible is religious metaphor, full of "some" valuable mythology and human life lessons ... but as you said it is also FULL of edicts that just do not apply and/or would actual criminal offenses in today's society. As always ... way to go B!! ^_^

  • Missed you!!! Great Vid!!!

  • make your own reality

  • man shall not hate man, or himself.

  • So mate, can it be real AT ALL to listen, speak & preach such disconcerting biblical passage emphasis which has been severely misquoted for many centuries / decades of enduring human revolution or can it be seen as it were to us who are non-religious as intellectually stupid, disrupted fictional rhetoric as it so happen to be believe in coming from the word of a almighty god of lord & pray against immoral sin?!

  • So can the Bible seriously be interpret as being right in arguing against homosexual tendencies/behaviours or can it be misinterpret and proven to be quite wrong to argue at that moral discontent or considerable undervalue of saying that being gay or lesbian is nothing to ever be, think or feel ashamed of in this age of wider acceptance & bold tolerance in our fellow sexual being!!

  • "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind." Indeed! A man should do it quite differently with another man from the way how it's done with a women.

  • wow where you been hiding man? or your vids haven't been showing up in my sub box... *shakes head* at religion and there extremest views 2010 and things are still slowly moving a long.. i don't really waste my time on people who are closed minded and are unexcepting of the LGBT community i would rather just flip the finger and say GTF over it.

  • I don't believe the Bible was inspired by anyone but Man, so it is should be thought of as simply a bit of history from the past...Christian values are worth something to consider, but believing the Bible as a rule book from God is silly to say the least. -same with all the other books during that period of the world. Understanding this may prevent wars and further mass death in its behalf. WAKE UP PEOPLE

  • I've always maintained that the Bible is pretty open to biased personal interpretation by whoever has the power to be reading it in front of a group. It's cool that you included the history of the terms being used because as you stated, definitions change over time, usually quite drastically between centuries.

  • It was guide to be as true to god as possible, it was also used as a way to codify and unite the tribes, as in they all follow these mores and values.

  • Very Interesting video :)

  • Brodhe your not Christian, its very obvious. Yes, the language has changed and translated english version that your preaching off of, words are interpreted differently cause their are different meanings involved. The other major arguementsf or dismissing Leviticus are Jesus saying old is not as improtant as the new. The old rules and laws are out of place after the advent of Jesus. Therefore they do not apply. Also Levitcus was a guide to living a holy union with good, it was not a set of laws

  • Religion interpreted with logic ? What a novel concept.

  • i wish more people knew this information
