Ilove Sabbath as much as any Sabbath lover, but the guy who claims "this isnt simple music " is obviosly a retard with a mediocre vocabulary. Most Sabbath is VERY simple - that was their appeal & style. None of them virtuoso players, especially in those early years.
@TheKlakmens SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH U VILE CUNT! I'LL KICK YER FUCKING TEETH DOWN YER THROAT AND REGAIN MY NORMAL COMPOSURE SO QUICKLY, IT WOULD BE LIKE NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED! YEW FUCKING SUCK PRICK! I'LL HAVE YER WEAK ASS SWIMMING IN A SEA OF VIOLENCE WITHOUT A FUCKING LIFE JACKET! on yer bike quiff!!
@roejogan8 Damn, I hope you are making an attempt at humour! Your YouTube profile is awful. The rest of Canada requests that you do not claim to be Canadian.
I bought this album years ago on vinyl, played it so much I wore it out, bought another and wore it out. Like a lot have mentioned, playing slower gives the music a heavier quality. I never got into the "metal" bands throughout the years that played really fast thinking that it somehow made them "heavier" No one has come close to touching Sabbath, and their stuff just keeps sounding better and better as time goes on. Crushing version of Sweet Leaf.
dude thats so spot on, playing slower if done right makes the sound so much more heavy, makes u feel like its dragging u down in a soup of slow viscous currents.
I totally agree, the way the instruments melt together in most Sabbath songs is superb, theyre perfectly written rock/metal songs, not just a good riff with an average bassist and drummer to back it up
That's usually how it goes. Trust me as a musician: if you can play simple, heavy rock to perfection, then you're golden. Most people don't understand that heaviness and good songwriting usually comes from simplicity. You don't need to be Slash.
Yeah but you also don't want it to be so simple it's stupid. It seems like nowadays rock music is four chords and some yelling. Or they're on the opposite spectrum and throw in everything but the kitchen sink. To me all music is about finding that balance and being what I call deceptively simple.
