  • where can i find the sheet music to this?

  • I guess it is one of the most challenging pieces to play - am I right ?

By the way a wonderful set of percussion instruments.

I like it very, very much. Thanks a lot for showing this here !!!

  • this instrumentation gives it a Danny Elfman-esque feel

  • I'm srry but the instrumentals do not match schism it doesn't give any where near as much effect on marimba than it does lead and bass guitar otherwise if the instrument u were playing wasn't the problem awsome job I'm trying to do a brass choir of this for our end of the year show hopefully it works out

  • Great job.

  • time signature is 7/8 right?

  • @demelumeestermad the wiki says it switches time signatures 40something times

  • @needlearmor wow, amazing haha

  • @demelumeestermad the main groove is 5/8+7/8 in groupings like this 5+4+3. if you want to play along and impro over the groove you can also think it in 6/4 (because you have 5/8+7/8 =12/8, so you can play it with other groupings and solo playing in it in 6 or if you want to have even more space and do a free open solo count it in 3/2)

  • so....Lateralus was released in 2001....and this video looks like it was shot in 1982? Still a great job though!

  • this is so amazing. i dont like the straight triplets around 4:20 or so but other than that this was incredible.

  • i laughed when they started headbanging. this could make a great movie soundtrack

  • anyone who makes any negative comments about this apparently knows nothing about music. TooL s music is very hard to do , and these guys did and outstanding job and love to see these guys do more stuff not just tool. Great Job !!!

  • Now that was good shit.

Something i'll probably never get to see.

  • UALR as in University of Arkansas Little Rock?

  • @Zhuland3r Yep, that's us!

  • I would like to buy the sheet music for this.

Please send a message to my inbox.

  • wihotut the drums at 4:50 it would sound perfect. I mean, it sounds excelent.

  • HUGE tool fan here, I'm very loyal to their music and I usually hate Tool cover bands. But this was so well done I couldn't believe it. What a cool bunch of people.

  • All these expert critics should really attempt to arrange a piece with 40-something odd time changes for a group of nine STUDENTS - and then actually pull it off...instead they sit around watching the 'tube'...what a bunch of Comicbook Guys.

    Great work by the way!

  • @Mikingbird

Thank you! Yea, most people don't stop to think about what goes in to putting something like this together. And others are just plain jealous cuz they can't play an instrument like I can! Ha ha ha, thanks for the comment!

  • @Mikingbird To be fair its only 40 if you count it as 5/8 + 7/8 rather than 6/4. (I think)

  • The tempo seemed a little too fast in the beginning, but it was well done nonetheless.. It kind of sounded like it belonged in a Tim Burton movie.

  • That was great. Don't worry too much about the harsher critics. If Tool uploaded a video of themselves playing in costume and titled it "Tool-Cover Band" people would pick it apart. Thanks for contributing this.

  • Great job! Being a big Tool fan I really enjoyed this! :D

  • Seems like it didnt go as well as it should have. Some parts just didnt feel right.

  • @waywards1nn3r

Yea, it definitely wasn't the tightest we ever played it. I think at the time of this performance, the piece was still rather new and fresh to us.

  • damn!!!...good performance!

  • this is such an epic song.. it sounds amazing like this too

  • this is cool. they sped it up a little, and they really seem to give it some serious energy

  • I like when the conductor starts head banging at 4:09 lol...

  • sounds so eerie but beautiful. fantastic!

  • Not exactly flawless but a very nice listen nonetheless. It is a great song.

  • I'm writing an arrangement right now for full orchestra...

  • cant find the orchestra arrangment for this :(

  • wow!

    i'm impressed!

  • We're rehearsing this piece tonight and will be preforming it this Dec 2008 or in early 2009
