Would be great if they got around to properly recording and fleshing it out a little instead of relying on the ultra heavy guitar effect to carry the music beneath the vocals. Maybe throw in a couple of powerful chorus sections. Has the potential to be a great Evanescence song.

@XxXUndeadLenoreXxX These songs you're hearing are verrrrry old. I heard them from the Origin album probably when I was just turning 14 and I'm almost 22 now. The only "newer" song that you'll hear from them is Together Again. In my opinion, these older songs from Origin are the best. :)

@prozie286 in fact not is it only not FROM origin it isn't even ON origin... some of the other EP songs are, like variations of Imaginary and Where Will You Go. But the Sound Asleep EP was the last place Understanding was released.

@prozie286 Yes it is. Understanding was originally on the Evanescence EP and then they re-did it half a step lower (this version you're listening to now) for the Sound Asleep EP. Which is the last place they released it. Origin came afterward.

Amy said so herself the music before Origin was not the work she wanted to keep going back to..but for die-hard fans, there's a site created that you can download all the old music given BY Amy herself...I'm not sure if it exists, I went looking for the songs but you should be able to still download them

I think this is actually the Evanescence EP version. The 98 one, could be wrong. I love both versions though. :)
