I think what's happening is it's not our debt that's increasing. Because of wild inflation from reckless money printing, it's the amount of money needed to equal the value we owe that is. I think what's happening is it's not our debt that's increasing. Because of wild inflation from reckless money printing, it's the amount of money needed to equal the value we owe that is. @SuperMe4lyfe It wont be the end of the west it might be 10-20 years of serious serious hard times where asia as a whole catches up with the wes and maybe surpasses the west economically but we are already developed. Europe is an ancient continent in terms of civilisation the rise and falls of our nation are drilled in to us. Where as america has only known growth it will effect the american boastful no:1 psyche a lot more than it will effect the europeans.

Ironically you mention Ancient Rome, A perfect example. Power can rapidly change hands, while influence can persist through the millenias. The Greek states fell, The Empire and State of System that was Rome also eventually fell, but.. The standards of globalization in terms of economy, scientific methodology, relations, etc is largerly western.
The World is adapting to western values and ideas, with a contribution of it own flavors.

Germans stopped paying everyone's war debts (borrowed money from the banks to fight the war). 140 banks in Germany then 110 Jewish owned they needed a dictator to make them continue pay along comes Hitler but he turned on them.
