Too many people think that these cars are just about going fast, and that they can take any piece of shit (not that a Lotus Elise is a piece of shit) and make it "as fast". You can make ANYTHING incredibly fast. These cars are about the craftsmanship, the sounds, the feel of all the materials, and yes, the performance. You can either appreciate it, or you can't. Too many kids think a turbo'd out piece of shit civic is the be-all and end all and they completely miss the point.

I'm just the type of person that prefers all-out performance instead of the pretty much perfect attention to detail and craftsmanship and luxury etc. that some companies offer at the factroy, however, If I had back problems, was a bit older, had different taste etc. (and more money - who couldn't use more money lol) i'm sure my point of view would be different.

Don't get me wrong, I love all-out performance too. But there comes a point when it's just silly.

Unless you track the supercar, you're not going to be able to exploit all that insane speed anyways.

That's why I can appreciate cars like Astons. Sure, there are faster cars out there, but who really cares when the packaging is what it is? It's always nice to be able to go faster, but most of the time you simply don't have the road to be able to.
