  • definitely should have stayed in the part were she talks about her dream

  • Definitely should have been left in.

  • This is not the Lost and the Damned

  • I love her dress, i wonder where i can find one like this

  • this wasnt deleated its on the movie too

  • Era mucho pedir un beso entre ellos?? u.u

  • @ladysilfo,

Sorry it took me SO long to respond, I do not get on here that much, but the answer to your question about Jessie is YES, she was the very center of the Queen of the Damned chronicle, amongst many others, actually Queen of the Damned is more informative & I highly recommend that one if you are into Anne Rice..which by now you have probably already read it, being that I took so long to answer your question, once again, sorry for the delay. Take care & happy reading V~V..~~2Tears~~

  • this should have been let in the movie no if but,s or maybe,s about it. Why the idiot,s left this out is beyond me.

  • Huh on tv i just watched it & dat wasnt deleted :D

  • no way would i have refushed lastat some of my blood

  • hej vampyrne i love you krammer fra lykke

  • WOW lestat ahs a great big house

  • IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER FILM BUT SHE DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF PRODUCTION THEY USED WHAT THEY HAD AND RELEASED IT FOR HER FANS

  • Yep, filmmakers, cut out anything with any actual character development. That's the way you make a great movie. Assholes.

  • crepusculo por el culo

  • id bang er

  • How anyone can think this is a bad movie is beyond me.

  • RAGE. Why did they have to make Jesse the lover Lestat ended up with? There wasn't even a mention of Nicolas or Louis! America and their anti-gay people ruined this movie for me D:

  • Marius did NOT turn Lestat, an old vampire called Magnus did, Magnus jumped into a fire & left Lestat to learn on his own. SHIT, I wish people would read the Chronicles of all the vampire books Ann Rice wrote. It is a good movie...but not true. Marius in the movie was to the very point of looking so much like Ann Rice described him. And the Lestat that played in Queen of the Damned comes closer to what Tom Cruse did in Interview with the Vampire...although I did enjoy that movie very much.

  • @2TEARSINABUCKETMFIT2 tell me something please, I could not read "The Queen of Damned"yet I'm resading "The tale of the body thief", Does this Jessie really appears in the book?or she was made only for the movie?because There is no mention of her in the book I'm reading right now, I did not finish yet but I'm kkind of curious about it >-<

  • @ladysilfo OK, I so have not read "the tale of the body thief" in so long, I personally do NOT remember a girl named Jessie..what I do remember is that Lestat wanted to have "normal" sex without turning anyone..OMG, I so need to read that book again..The best of what Anne Rice wrote was that book along with Lestat the Vampire & Queen of the Damned(really old vampires like Aunt Mariah.Just start at the beginning,, Start with Queen of the Damned.I could not finish was The Vampire Armand. BORING

  • @ladysilfo yes... she appeared... but... she wasnt her companion when lestat gave her the dark gift

  • I think they left out the good parts of the book, much like this scene here, because the general public would lose interest; however, a true fan as myself would have LOVED if they would have done a 2 parter on this movie. it would have SO been worth it.

  • Wish they could use the same actors but make a longer version of this.

  • I've seen this before, on the T.V version they air at least every so often, and it's still good!

  • The movie is way off from the book. My biggest pet peeve was having Marcus be Lestat's creator, just one of the many things the movie shouldn't have changed.

  • They should have kept this in. The movie leaves a lot of plot points like this unexplained and I doubt anyone who hasn`t read the books would be able to really understand the significance of her dreams along with the relationships with the other vampires.

    Still love the movie though.

  • @okamichamploo how many books are there, didnt know there were books i would love 2 read them all,can u please name them all please.so sad 2 hear that there were many books but only 1 movie;( i love this movie would have loved sequels.queen of the damned was 1 of the 1st vampire movies i watched&i fell in love with the movie.2 this day at age 22 it's still 1 of my top 3 favorite vampire movies heck 1 of my top 3 fav movies period:) sorry 4 the long post.would love 2 get all the names of the books

  • @AmTheBestDamnThing11 First off, there's another movie, Interview with the Vampire. Good movie.

The books are as listed in chronological order: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch the Devil, The Vampire Armand, Merrick, Blood and Gold, Blackwood Farm, and Blood Canticle.

A few of these are crossovers with another series, Lives of the Mayfair Witches, notably Merrick, Blackwood Farm, and Blood Canticle. Enjoy!

  • i was 8 when i saw this movie :3

probably the sexiest movie i ever seen in my messed up childhood

  • and why wasnt this in the moive?? thats a great scene

  • He is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot. they should have kept that in the movie

  • They should have DEFINITELY left this scene in AND expanded on it from there. The movies don't do the books justice....The worst travesty was seeing Tom Cruise as Lestat in Interview with the Vampire. Brad Pitt was just passable as Luis, however WTF were they thinking making Tom Lestat? He's a dead shit period, an action figure with a way too masculine form for one. Lestat is bisexual, and not afraid to show it throughout Anne's beautiful portrayal of his chronicles. Stuart Townsend = great!

  • Anne Rice's vampires pwn the Twilight vamps

  • I NEED TO READ THESE BOOKS! my mom thinks it will be too "inappropriate" for me. I saw the movie. ugh, unfair

  • @thecommenter18 Pfft. I read the first one when I was fourteen.

  • @nurzerozetta my mom did too...thats whats not fair...hahaha

  • Oh my god that tOTAlly should have been in the movie!! It completely sets up a basis 4 their relationship

  • I watched this movie years before I had even heard of Anne Rice's novels. When I watched the movie, I adored it. I felt as though I could watch it over and over again. I finished reading the book a couple days ago, and it has forever ruined the movie for me. Now, I know how much better this movie should have been. I don't understand why they had to twist it so much. It's kinda disrespectful.

They shouldn't have put Jesse's dreams in there and not explained it. And they should have kept Mekare.

  • @SunnyHappy2008 I have the same problem with Twilight... :(((

  • lolz, tom cruise and this duude, are good lestats i think :)

  • He is so orgasmic!!!!!!!!!

  • @PeanutsOwnShow i couldn't agree with you anymore on that <3 ;)

  • if they can make the lord of the rings like a week long y not make an awsome horror movie just as long but i mean a real good fantastic horror film

  • I actually found this movie very good indeed! I didn't know it was based on Anne Rices' books, tho!! Which I do plan on reading them somtime in the future. & heard the books r much more better! Bt its definatley not that bad!! I actually find it btter than twilight!! (srry Twilight fans)!!

  • tom cruise was a wayyyy better lestat....

  • I wonder how Tom Cruise would have done as Lestat again in this movie ?

  • @supremeobliterator the funny thing is Tom Cruise was better at portraying the homicidal sadistic part of Lestat and Stuart Townsend was better at portraying the side of Lestat that tries to be good cos he cares a bit about ppl. Neither of them were perfect (although Tom was closer) If they could be merged it wouldve been brilliant! Tom wouldnt have fit very well cos you see a very compassiante side of lestat in the book

  • Audio is pretty poor. I can hardly understand what she is trying to tell him. I'm going to watch this movie again and hopefully catch this deleted scene on the DVD. Anyway, it's rare that they would ever do a movie that's totally based on the book. I liked it for the campiness and silliness and wasn't disappointed by the movie.

  • They should have based the movie on the book...because the movie only portrayed like 4 chapters out of the whole book. The book actually explained the origin of vampires

  • the biggest fuck up in this movie had to be they made it that Lestat was made by Marius any real Anne Rice fan would be appalled by that notion. We all know that Magnus made lestat when he first moved to Paris with Nicolas

  • im glad tht they left it out

  • Hes so damn hot. that i cant help but think bad thoughts every time i watch this movie! lol I want him to bite me!!! HECK Y ES!

  • @ILuvCharmed15 not if he bites me first

    haha just kidding

  • das is doch im film??

  • yeah i hate how there was so many more scenes they cut out.. this one is a good one, cause it does explain her dream a little more

  • If I where Anna I would of told the world NOT to see this movie....It blows...not even in the ball park of the book or should I say books as it was more like parts of 2-3 w/ a lot of B/S from Gods knows were to try and make it all work...It all most as bad as the 2nd HIGHLANDER movie...and we all know how bad that was...

  • I think that Lestat and Jesse should have fucked in the movie.. I'm just saying it would have been sexier.

  • i now realize why this part was NOT in the movie.

  • hey...this is not deleted!this IS on my original DVD in the movie oO

  • ive read the book but i still like the movie ^_^ as much as i like the book.

  • Yes I agree, she had that dream at the beginning and its relavent to her point of why they should be together. She was to passive and this would have complemented that with some assertion. I agree

  • gosh I LOVE IT !!!!!

why did they did not put it in the MOVIE?????!!!!

  • no way how many books are there and is it the same title at the movie ? btw freakin lestat is sooo freaking hot and if u dont like him calm down ladies or 13-year olds it's just a movie not every body has to have the same taste some people like big buff black guys others die for the gentlemen thing

  • Comment removed

  • I love the book better...I didn't found anything about armand and daniel...baby jenks...the twins...nothing the same...and akasha looks different

  • This SHOULD be in movie! Why is not?! Huh?!

  • Why teh fuck didnt they lave this in the movie it woldve helped expain SO much more.

  • ive never read the book was it good

  • he sooo buff

this reminds me of twilght bella and edward and bella want to turn to vampire

  • i so love this movie..

  • He's Bomb

  • oMG!

  • i think the film was kind of a dissapointment compared to the books :(

there was so much more to tell..

THEY COULD HAVE MADE 2 MOVIES!! D':

  • @iiScratches more lestat then! :P

  • @101Xtina i know! pfft i love him :3 though, who doesn't?

  • @iiScratches i know right! whats not too love?! so alluring, yet a gentleman :3 im officially a fan girl! :)

  • @iiScratches Still better than twilight

  • @AmandaArcis ha right

  • @iiScratches they did, the first was called Interview with a vampire

  • @iiScratches movie was nothing like the book </3

  • @iiScratches they didnt film everything they would have becuae aaliyah passed smh

  • @iiScratches idiot aaliyah died before the movie was finished how would they had made it longer

  • @Prudence2011 she's not idiot, you might as well call her brother an idiot as well -___-

  • @iiScratches THEY DID NOT FINISHED COMPLETING THE MOVIE. THERE WAS SUPPOSE TO BEMORE PARTS IN THE MOVIE BUT AALIYAH DIED BEFORE THE MOVIE WAS FINISHED. SO WHAT EVER PARTS THAT THEY COMPLETED, THOSE WERE THE SCENES THAT WERE PUT INTO THE MOVIE. IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE BECAUSE THERE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE MORE SCENES THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ADDED IN THE MOVIE. AALIYAH DIED AND HER BROTHER HAD TO IMITATE HER VOICE ON MOST OF THE SCENES ON THE MOVIE.

  • I enjoyed QOTD but the reasons so much diolog was cut is simple....Anne Rice did not write the screenplay as she did in Interview...

  • In the book Jesse and Lestat never know one another except through David who Lestat makes immortal He never sired her

  • i agree i love all the stuff that happens between them. i find that their romance is pretty short in the movie and i always wish they had done more with that. the last thing they should've done was cut more of that them out.

  • i agree they could have keeped it

  • OMG I KNEW HE LOVED HER HE WAS PROTECTING HER FROM AKASHA!

  • i don't think keeping this scene in the movie would have helped it any. what a disaster :**(

    the movie, that is...

  • i like the movie its self, i for one think it's an very interesting gothic movie

  • Does anyone love the dress she wears, I so wanted one for ages like that but never found one. Its got cute black lace at the bottom of it and laces up at the back.

  • lestat can bite me anytime :)

  • @lollipopfop clearly you've never read the book the Vampire Armand in it it says that he has Auburn hair and brown eyes. Read the damn book before you make yourself look like an idiot...

  • I have no idea why was it removed from the film?! It's one of the issues that really matters for the whole plot, Gosh!

Ona damn thing that should have been left in the movie to remind the Anne Rice's readers that this film is supposed to be based on her novel.

    Is this only my opinion?

  • I like it. She is certainly not chatty, so I don't know why he would tell her to shut it. Im not sure it needed to be in the movie, but its not bad.

  • So should have been left in. It makes a lot more sense...

  • nooo wheres the rest, does he bite her ?????????

  • @bree1051 No. He does not bite her. In this scene anyway.

  • This movie isn't accurate. Actually, Lestat was portrayed beter in Interview With The Vampire.

My GOSH did they make Marius unrecogniseable or what? Marius was described as being a tall blond Greek whose skin glowed like ivory and they replace him with a short, thin bald guy who looks more like the Joker from Batman?

    STOP FUCKING OUR CHARACTERS UP!

  • @johnlewisbrooks In "Interview" Lestat was a giggly shrimp with too much make up. Armand( who was written to be blond and green eyed) was Antonio Banderas! So this is a lot more accurate then "Interview with a Vampire". But I like "Queen of the Damned". At least all the characters are cool and likeable. Not the whinny, overly dramatic fags they are in the books.

  • @johnlewisbrooks Marius was a nice edition, but I still hope for a " The vampire lestat" movie so we can see how magnus is portrayed on screen ( lestats true sire)

  • Is a good thing they didn't stick this in the movie it wouldn't even have made sense at all, well to those of us who prefer the book over the movie anyways, is bad enough they messed up the movie why mess it up even more? IMO

  • ok i love lestat maybe the other comment i put was ,more of my private thoughts i had of him and i just adore him now hes is one fine vampire!!!!!!!!

  • they should have left it. it would have explained jesse and lestat's relationship way more. it was kind of dull in the movie and i didn't feel their connection but i still love them :)

  • @mileyxlove1 So am I, I love them notwithstanding everything that was messed up :)

  • awsome lestat is cool and jesse is realy awsome but he doesnt change her until the end and its only cause shes dyingD:

  • This is crucial to the plot and it should have been left it but perhaps not here. This moment was good the way it was, simply with the "do you trust me" part...but this needed to be in there somewhere. Some conversation like this.

  • Ok, just a little word of advice. Even if you do have such thoughts, there is a time and a place to give them voice. Taking note of your age, I question why you'd have such graphic thoughts. Second, you do realize that Lestat doesn't exist, right? It's just a character, a figment of your obviously over-active and extremely vivid imagination. Lestat is PLAYED by a human being, who has also played other ROLES. His name is Stuart Townsend, and he shouldn't be defined as an actor by this one role.

  • LESTAT DE LIONCOUR IS SO HAWT!!! such a shame that vampires aren't real..i have spent the past three years trying to find some evidence that they exist..i mean why else would someone create such a "monster" unless they had proof of one ever existing???...coincedence? i think not!!! grrrr....LESTAT COME FIND ME!!!

BTW: U LEFT OUT THEPART WHERE HE WAS LIKE "DO YOU TRUST ME" AND JESSE WAS LIKE "YES" AND LESTAT WAS LIKE "THAN CLOSE YOUR EYES"...VERY CRUCIAL...

  • this movie is a combination of "the vampire lestat" and "queen of the damned". they should have made two different movies.

All in all I have nothing against this movie except that here Lestat is not blond.

  • yea im glad thad hat wasnt n hte movie

  • KILLER STUFF , 5 STARZ,ALZ-NYC

  • lollipopfop;

    1. Because it could be thought interesting to see the events in live-action. And novel-faithful movies are never happening exactly like the book anyway, making it even more interesting.

    2. Thus they probably wouldn't be used.

    3. Could be left as a side theme and focused more on action elements.

    4. Neither does this film have a romance. Even the producer of this film says so. Thus it's happy, romantic ending makes no sense.

    5. You know, over-generalizing is never a convincing thing.

  • It isn't supposed to be a copy of the book. the book is completely different, thank goodness. I love the film. If they went on about all that shit about Baby Jenks, her stupid mom, and Louis, and the rest of the borefest, I wouldn't like it as well. Im sorry, but the book is totally dull.

  • You do realize this film focuses on The Vampire Lestat book in the scenes that have anything to do with the books's events, even though the title is Queen of the Damned. And the TVL book is very much potential for a faithful adaptation. And even combined the books make a good movie if weighting on TVL's content and given any kind of effort, which they didn't give yet they want us to think they did.

  • And how do you think her death affected the matter? No, it was the script that made this film stray so fat from the books - not the actors or their living or dying.

  • i totally AGREE with you shelbylovesdaniel :) LESTAT is SEXY him over Edward and jacob any day !! :)

  • id pick lestat over "edward and "jacob" ANYDAY!

  • could anyone tell me the differences between the book an the film? ive never read the book an was wounderin whether it was worth the read.

  • xOLauraJaneOx; in the books there is no Lestat/Jesse pairing whatsoever, Jesse is completely different personality and much older than this film's Jesse, Lestat is in fact cheerful and easy-going personality and NOT suicidal & depressed, Marius is almost completely different than this film's; warm, gentle and loving and never ditches Lestat like that, their relationship is very close and strong, Lestat was in fact made by a vampire named MAGNUS who was a madman and... CONTINUES...

  • ....and killed himself almost immediately after made Lestat, Lestat travels the world, turning his own mother into a vampire and his best friend&lover Nicolas. They come across the vampire Armand, from who Lestat hears of the ancient vampire Marius and begins to obsessively search for him. For years. At one point Lestat does become deeply depressed for losses of loved ones and goes undersgroung until eventually the vampire Marius comes to him. As said, he's very different than this film's.

  • The film alters everything. In the book Lestat becomes a rockstar but for very different reasons. There is Akasha, the Queen, who awakens b/c of his music & wants him as her new king but she doesn't want to destroy the entire mortal world. She & Lestat love each other & not try to kill each other. There is no Lestat/Jesse thing, Marius & Lestat are mentor/student & father/son yes but their storyline's been turned utterly upside down in this film. A lot of characters were left out unnecessarely.

  • thanks for ure reply! the book sounds really gd...ill hav to buy it!

it always suprises me how the industry hav the cheek to call a film by a book (2 draw audiences in, thus creatin more money for the film)....an then completely twist it so that its a mere echo of the book!

it may aswel be a stand alone film by the sounds of it! lol (with the coincidence that the same names r used lol)

..... so could u tell me what jesse's role is in the book?

    thanks again

  • You should buy 2 books; "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of the Damned" & read "The Vampire Lestat" first or else you'll be confused when reading QOTD. The books are strongly linked. Jesse first appears in the QOTD. She's 30+ year old, smart and sophisticated woman, a psychic working in Talamasca, trying to find out if Lestat's really a vampire. She does NOT read his journal & she does NOT know he's a vampire until in the concert. She doesn't want... CONTINUES...

  • CONTINUED: ...to become one and it is not Lestat who eventually turns her to save her life and the reason why she was dying had nothing to do with Lestat or Akasha. Well, except that she was in Lestat's concert when she was fatally injured. She and Lestat met only oncea and very very briefly in the book and it had nothing even remotely romantic for it.

  • ok ill read both thanks! =)

an thanks for ure quick reply...they both sound really interesting!

  • They really are. Truly deserve every bit of the fame and appreciation they've got. And they certainly did not deserve this butchering that this film is...

  • ye sounds like it! i wounder y they just didnt stick to the book?...i mean it would make sence to do so! lol

  • @xOLauraJaneOx . The book is exceptionally long, the plot is all over the place. If they stuck to the book the movie would be a day long, and people would hate it. For example. It starts out with a very dull and long chapter describing these biker vampires. Baby Jenks, Davis, and Killer, who are silly, waste of time characters. Then it goes on to the vampires that are in a house looking to get Lestat. They are also rather silly characters. This movie takes most of the good parts.

  • @lollipopfop - well i cant really comment as i havent read the book....i was just going off the summary that VampireOutlaw gave me.

yes ofcourse a film is always going to be a bit different from the book (coz of either budget, lengh of book compared to film etc)....it would be stupid to think that a film could fit every little thing from a book into its narrative!.....i however, was just making the point that if a producer wants to make a book into a film, an credit that film with the books....

  • (continude)

...title, then the main points and character roles of the book need to stay the same in the film! as if this doesnt happen, then how can it be an adaption of a book!? a film should not stray to far from its book as it thus becomes a completely different story, an not what the fans of the book hav waited/paid for!.....but like i said, i havent read the book yet so....

  • lollipopfop-i disagree i think the plot was very straight forward in a way and the point of the chapter with baby jenks (in my opinion) was to give insight on whats kinda going on: How Akasha is killing the vamps and none of them can really do anything. i think the book gets you more in depth with the characters and that the movie doesnt even make sense at some points like Akasha's death scene for example made no sense to me among other things

  • @VampireOutlaw Um, just say that the book is different, and be done. Its not better, or worse just different. you don't need to give details. Most people understand different, as in not the same.

  • lollipopfop;

Um... Hello?! She asked what were the differences between the book and the film! So I explained them. If I'd said what you told me to say, I would not have been answering the question. I explained the differences, which was what she wanted. And you yourself went more into details than I did while not actually even answering her question.

  • This girl is so annoying and looks weird. She looked like a 'dog' infront of Aaliyah. RIP Aaliyah.

  • I am a Twilight fan but even I (partially) agree with kyokat130 and Karla. Twilight does seem to take on themes and trends from other movies/books...

  • it's good they deleted this.. it's rubbish :/

  • No, you're right Karla. Twilight is a big rip-off of many other books, such as Lord of the Rings, The Vampire Chronicles, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, etc.

Everyone keeps talking about how original Stephenie Meyers books are, but really she just combined themes and events from other books, ones that are way better than hers.

  • this did happen in the queen of damed o.O

  • No, this didn't. They did meet like this but this disucssion never happens in the film.

  • for some reason i feel that twilight was made because of this movie and out together with underworld...

cuz this movie is about a vampire that falls in love with a human..

and underworld is about a wolf who falls in love with a vampire.....

althought twilight has both of those plots put together.. and the volturi can be almost like the one who try to kill akashia at the end of the move queen of the damned....

THATS MY POINT OF VIEW.. SORRY FOR THOSE TWILIGHT LOVERS!!!

  • A vampire doesn't fall in love with a human in this film. Even according to the procucer if this film it's "fate or circumstances" and not downright "falling in love". But even the circumstances don't support the pairing...

  • I am a Twilight fan but i agree..Twilight saga's been inspired by Queen of The Damned and Underworld. But Twilight is not entirely based on Underworld or QOD. These three vampire series are my favourite.

  • this really should be in the movie!!

  • i havent read the books yet are they good? wbs

  • Very, very, very, bloody better!

  • Lestat belongs to/with Louis, and vice-versa, period.

I don't know, but I'm sure Lestat would never go for someone like Jesse. I could actually see him more with someone like Buffy; after all, if we learned anything from IWTV, we know he likes them with a lil' fight in 'em. Remember how much Louis fought him, and then Lestat says "the more you fought me, the more I wanted you." Oh shit. lol

This movie would've really reeked without Townsend though, my jaw's still on the floor.

  • Bad...bad acting. Did I say, bad? No, awful....

  • oh shut up Jessie no one cares! - if I was Lestat that's what I'd definitely tell her! lol

  • @Jesibab-personally i would have used the tru blood line on herwhile she was talking "im bored! take off your clothes"

  • @ comment in the beginning of the video: THERE IS A LOT ABOUT THIS MOVIE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN...

  • I must say that it's a good thing they didn't put this in the movie. It would have been kind of a spoiler for when she arrives in the house

  • Well, deleted scene of not, Jesse is about as fascinating as a zit on a teenager's face. Gross? EXACTLY Is it any wonder why the hottest scene in the movie was done with Akasha, and not Jesse? They didn't even kiss on the roof of that building! Why? because they had about as much sexual attraction between them as a repulsed couple going through divorce proceedings

  • Lol. In total agreement, which is for one reason why I'm utterly, entirely, deathly grossed out by the "romantic kiss" they have between them in the deleted scenes of which that one THANK GOD did not make it to the bonus material of the DVD much less into the film. Phuuh. Seriously the film makers should be sued for that "pairing". It's an insult to everything that's good and holy in this world. (I may be exaggurating with that last bit but only a little.)

  • Now that, I gotta see, just so I can see for myself just how "romantic" it was...

  • If there's any justice and sense left in this world no one will ever see that. Seriously. There's a very low quality and small photo of that moment, where they don't quite kiss yet but obviously going to. I'd say the only romantic kick into that would be the beautiful city night background thing in it. You know, it was supposed to happen in the very end where they now only walk hand in hand. Btw, just out of curiosity, you're against the pairing but have favoritted a Lestat/Jesse fan video?

  • I will admit that at the time I favored that video, I had only seen the movies, and not read the books. But since then, I have read The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, and a few others in the Chronicles. Producers of the film DEFINITELY fucked it up, first by merging the 2 books together, then not FOLLOWING them. OK, we know that it was Magnus who made Lestat, not Marius. First mistake. Even so, if they wanted to start the film off better, they could've had Lestat search for... cont

  • Marius, ALREADY in his vampire form, and take the story from there, having Stuart tell the story in the background. Sort of like... "I am the Vampire Lestat. Last you saw me..." Not only that, where were the other characters that were integral to the story? Gabrielle, Nicki, Armand, Louis? The whole Lestat/Jesse/ Akasha "love" story was a means to sell the package, without truly looking at the content. For me, the only redeeming qualities of the film were Stuart as Lestat and the soundtrack.

  • Oh, and ummm, the film WAS called Queen of the Damned, right? So why is it that we see Jesse in the film more than we see Akasha? I think out of the whole 110 minutes of film, we only see Aaliyah in what, 30 minutes combined? Less? The film could've been so much better than it was, really, with a better script, and a production crew that knows what they're doing. And as a fan of his, as a result of the film, I think Stuart Townsend deserves another shot at Lestat again. To me, he IS Lestat.

  • Yeah, there was a million ways to do justice to the books and the characters even if thry despersately claom in their FAQ answers that there wasn't any other than this shameless butcher. To me the redeeming thing was the same (the music and Stuart as Lestat - he's definitely my Lestat and always will be and God I wish he got and took a second chance as a truer version of LestatI) but also Vincent as Marius. Without the two and the soundtrack, I would try to forget about this film completely.
