Form needs work. The snatch is a quick movement. Lower the weight. You're muscling it up. Your hips should create the momentum to bring the weight overhead in a catch position.
I agree with you completely. This should be called a one hand muscle snatch as opposed to one hand snatch. There doesn't seem to be enough power generated by the lifter (using power=work/time, where work=force*distance, as the definition of power) to call this movement a snatch.
Yeah seriously; I know everyone especially in gyms needs 'look like superman' but if your form is suffering because they are trying to lift too much weight then you need to drop it down, if that means lifting 40 lbs instead then so be it. It's also obviously he is using his arm to raise the weight as well which completely defeats the purpose of the exersize
@robbty18 Exactly. If the weight isn't moving quickly, it's too heavy.
The upward pull should feel like you are trying to throw the weight through the ceiling before "catching" the DB. It's a power move and a great one to increase vertical leaping ability.
dude ur twice my size and struggling with just 20 pounds more. im 6ft3 165 and can one arm barbell snatch 60 pounds for 4.... work on your form.

He's pretty close; a little more work and he's got it.
