I'll step up to the plate. I'm 5'11, about 175 lbs, and I have a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'm from Sacramento, and who wants to fight? call me at 916-604-0702
i really proud to be hmong at this moment because yia have proof to other people that our hmong people do have a fight like him. we miss you yia and much love to your family.
It's still hard to believe that Yia's gone. Growing up with him and training with him during the Kempo years. You will be miss bro! Kaprai, think hard i think u know who this is.............
Gangsters who wants to fight should be like this. Make ur gangs into this kind of group and become groups like this. and when ur ppls want to fight. let them fight in rings for gangs. Make it better. shoot. gangs street fights are stupid. be more like a gang fighting fair and square and fight in good ways. not nationwide and embarass ur own race. shoot. Yia, dude. best fighter of hmongs since he went out and won the fights. WAT ABOUT OUR GANGSTERS. REALLY EARNED NO NAME BUT IDIOTS!!!!!!!
@muastik the hell are you talking about? u speaking in the way like i think yia is a gangster or something close to involving my gang shit with yia? if so u must be the dummest of all ppls to ever say that.
@vueyikoua Dude if you're trying to give props to MY BROTHER " YIA", GIVE IT RIGHT!!!!!!! I'M HIS LITTLE SISTER, MUCH RESPECT TO MY BROTHER "YIA". MAY YOU RIP.
"Good men die young" I trained with John Cho Kung fu and left about the same time Yia started. He was never cocky or rude, just a calm respectable young man. RIP Yia.
That's my gym, I train at John Cho's right now, it was weird seeing his belts off the wall, as John Cho took them off to give them to Yia's family. He was telling us stories about Yia tonight, describing his work ethic and how hard Yia would train.
RIP.I met Yia once. I was collecting money at the entrance at Dakota County. He was a guest, so I told him just to go in.He said everyone else was paying, so he insisted on paying and wouldn't take no for an answer. I expected him to be an arrogant person will all this fame, but he was humble and very respectful person. I had even more admiration since that day.
OMFG I wanted to meet him and he was my romodule for me. He motivates me to UFC OMFG!! OMFG NOOO I fuckin mean it NO I want to become a boxer long time
Yia can really kick ass with some body his weight class in the ring...I've follow him around during his fight and this guy has some of the most powerful knock down I've ever seen in his class....Yia is a golden boy....wish him well and God Bless.... Best
All he needs is to learn Wrestling n he will be one of the greatest martial artist. like bruce lee said to be the greatest martial artist all you need is 2 years of Kick Boxing & Wrestling.
ufc??? naw........... hes not ready... he only kick box and mma is everything... yia doesn't know take downs or any submissions, hes no good for ufc... but he is good at muay thai kick box..
i could see Yia joinning the UFC lol if he gets some BBJ he could become a great UFC fighter! lol i could see Yia fighting against George St. Pierre for the welterweight title =D
LoL ! Yia will lose he doesn't know any ground games like George. What he need is Wrestling and he'll do good since he's good with striking already. If he tries to go in and just do striking he'll be another Chuck Liddell which will be no good. A good Fight with Yia from UFC will be Forrest Griffin and Yia LoL!
Yia needed the right management when he was fighting. He was among some of the best fighters in the USA. He is still sought out to train professional fighters nowadays. He had a chance to become world champ. There are many sactions that Yia can fight for (WBC, ISKA, IKF, IMTO, IKKC, WMC, Etc..etc....)
when was this? 1 st, Yia, is a true herofor the Hmong people. 2nd, it's good to see Zuag Vaj the Hmoob reporter. seems like Hmoob people are doing great!
How old is Yia's son now? Is he training too? It would be great for his son and mine to train some striking together. Check out some of my kid's matches.
Wow, it's very interesting to know that Yia has gained that many trophies. He must've trained hard in order to have succeeded in all the areas that he's been through.
Anybody knows what happened to Yia now? I mean how come I don't see many fights of this rare fighter? Any advice would be great.
I saw him at a fight in Fresno last month Nov. He had a student fighting. I spoke with him after the fight. He opened up a gym in Clovis/Fresno, CA with Pacific Martial Arts. He had also talked about making a comeback in March of 2008 in Mixed Martial Arts and Muaythai for 1 or 2 more years.
Nope, saw him at the Hmong New Year in Fresno and spoke with him. He's making a come back in March or April in 2008. He's cut down in weight alot since I saw him in Nov of 2007.
RIP Yia.

There are only 30 DVDs of DAIM DUAB that has Yia's autograph on it. 30 DVDs out of 2000 DVDS. Whoever that has that DVD are the lucky one.
