But its actually the best, quickest and painless way to kill the animal. Why? Because the seal's skull is very thin and fragile, after a single hit to the head, the seal's skull is crushed and has a very high chance (98%) to either make the animal faint or die instantly.
@ZeroGal5 I am not taking these facts out of my hat here, veterinarians have agreed that clubs are the best way to kill these animals. The average killing time of certain animals in a slaughter house is about 2 minutes, they have to make sure the animal is unconcious and cut one of its arteries to empty it of its blood. Now, do you know the average time of the same process for a seal? Around 15 seconds. Its about 10 times less than the universally accepted standarts.

When they get clubbed, assuming they dont die right away, they immediatly lose conciousness, which of course, means they cant feel pain. Any other hit to the seal will make sure that it is killed. They are not skinned alive, nor are they killed just for sport. Even if it was the case, this specie is in no way endangered and can be hunted without any worry for the future of the specie.

To the people asking 'why are they doing this? I don't understand!' What's to understand? Some people are simply deranged. Getting angry at people who have screws loose is pointless waste of energy. We spray cockroaches because they're a nuisance but its ridiculous to be angry at them. It's their nature to be what they are. Same thing applies to seal clubbers or any other psychopath, they're not how they are to piss people off, its their nature. They just have to be disposed of like cockroaches.

@crissxxx The way they do it as been choose following studies to avoid make them suffer. The hunter do not choose the way, it is regulated. The same regulation say if it is impossible to use the hakapik (club) then and only then the hunter can use a gun to shoot the seal on the head.

@ZeroGal5 I would accept your opinion about the way they kill the seals if it wasnt based on ignorance. To the unawared eyes, this mean of killing the seals might look brutal & crual. But its actually the best, quickest and painless way to kill the animal. Why? Because the seal's skull is very thin and fragile, after a single hit to the head, the seal's skull is crushed and has a very high chance (98%) to either make the animal faint or die instantly.

@ZeroGal5 I am not taking these facts out of my hat here, veterinarians have agreed that clubs are the best way to kill these animals. The average killing time of certain animals in a slaughter house is about 2 minutes, they have to make sure the animal is unconcious and cut one of its arteries to empty it of its blood. Now, do you know the average time of the same process for a seal? Around 15 seconds. Its about 10 times less than the universally accepted standarts.

When they get clubbed, assuming they dont die right away, they immediatly lose conciousness, which of course, means they cant feel pain. Any other hit to the seal will make sure that it is killed. They are not skinned alive, nor are they killed just for sport. Even if it was the case, this specie is in no way endangered and can be hunted without any worry for the future of the specie.
