@Klottelitsch Mir ist bekannt, daß es zur damaligen Zeit ein Reihensechser war! Der Sound unterscheidet sich interessanterweise jedoch kaum vom heutigen V 6, wie ich meine! Allerdings mit der Einschränkung, daß der Klang im Video so herüberkommt!
Geiler, satter Klang!!! Wie vom V 6 gewohnt! Und zeitlos! Mein 3,2-er aus der heutigen Zeit im E klingt zu meinem Erstaunen kaum anders! Für mich beginnt das Auto ab 6 Zylindern!!! Leistungsgesteigerte 4-Zylinder mit viel PS u. wenig/kaum Hubraum finde ICH Müll!!! Die lächerlichen "Feinstaubgrenzen" grüner Deppen auch! Der mod. 6-Zylinder ist sparsam u. sauber bei vernüftiger Fahrweise!Meinem Wagen bleibe ich auch"treu"!

Für das "H" muß der Wagen allerdings 30 Jahre oder älter sein! Jedenfalls wunderschön soetwas! Damit hast Du mehr Spaß als mit einem tiefergelegten GTI, den- fast- jeder hat! Oft fahren Prol... soetwas!Ich steh darüber, wenn diese Meinung hier jemanden erregen sollte!

Hey Youngtimer have you engaged the first gear take off mechanism...most mercs specially w116 and w126 are designed to take off in second even when engaged in low!, any questions bout this drop me a line, it should give you around .7 - 1.0 sec diff on current acceleration.

Ich bin grade 19 geworden und will mir nach dem Abi mein erstes Auto kaufen. Ich habe angepeilt:
S 280 / 320 W140, oder 300 SE W126. Auch ein W116 Reimport aus den USA käme für mich in Frage.
Alles natürlich top gepflegt und original
Von diesen ganzen tiefergelegten Schüsseln halte ich nullkommanichts. Zum abgewöhnen...^^

I have handshifted version with 5 Speed floor shift ZF my W116 280Se is exactly as fast as a W116 6,9 Liter Automatic both around 7,8 sec 0-100

The 280SE 5-gear was tested by Auto Motor Sport at 10,8s 0-100, the 6.9 at 7.4s...
You can't beat a 100hp stronger car just by manual gearbox, that's bullshit.

The car is a bit more than 1600 kg ... I have a 1976 280 SEL which is 1655kg. The SE might have a few kilogrammes less.
