What people don't understand is these people will play possum, wait for the troops to get close, and then blow themselves up, shoot the marines, etc... when they least expect it. If you notice, after one of them was shot playing dead, another started moving his arms around to show he was alive. If they haven't surrendered, they're still combatants. They will use whatever advantage they can on troops to score a kill.
