Watch people at the recent shows, if the don't know the words to the old songs, they mosh harder so they don't look stupid!! Which makes them stupid!!
i got lost on my way to a show where RA opened for Bad Religion, it was right before they got mainstream and their music started to suck. I'm sure they would've played mostly the first 2 albums since the 3rd wasn't even complete at the time. I wouldn't waste my money to see them live now. It was a horrible night. We even missed part of BR's set.
hey 2 u guys sayin that RA has sold out, u r wrong. if they would have they would be doin songs like green day are doin, but they arent. green day sold out, RA havent. Linkin park (screw them) have sold out, RA havent
dont hate their new stuff every song they wrote was written with passion and in them they embedded their soul for us to listen to and enjoy i love every song they have they inspire me and help me through hard times
I love all Rise Against's work. (Albums, Covers, Soundtracks) No matter what "era" they come from, 2001 or 2009. Is there certain albums I like better, yes, but I'm not going to say there newer stuff sucks. It doesnt. It's just not the same as their older stuff. Big deal.
Awesome, this is my favorite album and this is just amazing!
And as far as I see it: no, RA didn't sell out. They just got less chaotic over the years. I mean, it has been like 10 years since they wrote their first song. A lot can happen in 10 years time, people change.
i 100% agree with VT. their old stuff is fucking amazing, but its like that with almost every band. they play their stuff til they get big. then they go mainstream and suck. its happened with alexisonfire and billy talent too
Fuck, I WISH I could have seen RISE back then. Fuck the new shit. This is real Rise Against. I hate when people say "oh, I love Rise Against" and they just listen to the last two albums. They played Dead Ringer at the last show I was at and like NO ONE knew the words, it pissed me off.
same exact thing with me. i went to the one at buffalo on july 30th... i was the only one singing dead ringer with them. its like wtf? revolutions per minute and the unraveling are easily their best.
my parents wouldnt let me drive to chicago... its 10 hours away. and by the time i went to look at tickets they were sold out. i cant wait til their next tour. i heard they're writing a new CD due out this time next year though. theyre recording it after their austrailian tour in jan-feb
this was back when they had no second guitarist/singer since tim just sang. but they were so good back then. they are good now but they're more mainstreem. siren was their best the revolution, the songs that are playing now from the unraveling, the new appeal to reason album and the worst was the suffere. it was to like poppy. but still had goo singles but not all the songs were good. but still die hard rise against fan for life =)
1. Alive and Well 2. Great Awakening 3. My Life Inside Your Heart 4. Remains of Summer Memories 5. The Art of Losing 6. Six Ways Til' Sunday 7. Stained Glass and Marble 8. 1000 Good Intentions 9. The Art of Losing 10. Join The Ranks 11. 3 Day Weekend 12. Everchanging 13. Sometimes Selling Out Is Giving Up 14. The Unraveling 15. Reception Fades
All of these songs except for Join The Ranks are on The Unraveling.
this is such a good live performance, it sounds identical to the studio version. actual better because of the raw energy in it. i wish they would still play stuff like this
this video is the best rise against video i have ever seen, the rawness and the oldness of it is awesome and its the only video ive seen of them playing their old stuff which is the best!!!!! how can i get a copy!!!!
rare video? give me a break. this was on supersphere dcn for free streams. one of those free live sites that used to have tons of punk bands. I'm pretty sure this one video was from fall 2000 not 2001.
a lot of the unraveling songs were recorded way before it came out. they just re-recorded them with fat wreck after they were signed. I'm positive this was from fall 2000. I remember the video was on an internet concert site. Either dcn or supersphere.
Good shit...The Unraveling is my 2nd favorite album (RPM 1st). Sadly this is the only way to see these song played live now heh...thx for posting this up
