Jensen said he made his voice more gravelly in Season 4 on purpose, because Dean went to Hell and his voice would have changed as a result. Gotten a harder edge to it, more worn down from the screaming, deeper emotionally.
@zuz2 They weren't exactly teenager though when the show started. Jared was 22, Jensen was 26 you'd have thought their voices would have been fully matured at that point. Maybe not Jared's completely but still puberty doesn't last till nearly 30.
It's not uncommon for a man's voice to get deeper as he ages.

offcouse their voices has change, they started as young boys and now the are fully grown men.
You can do the same with Jareds shoulderblades, thay are are about doubbel the size now.
But no complains from me ....they are getting hotter every seasons
