How flagrant the penalty was (this is pretty obvious) and if it was "retaliation" is also a factor. Green's never been suspended before, but this was flagrant, retaliation, and was deemed to be "intent to injure".

Well this was a penalty for elbowing but 2 minutes, not a suspension. Yes the guy got hit in the face but Green just went to check him. Hockey is in real time, not in slow motion. This could happen to anyone. This is miles away from the Cormier hit in my book.
