  • He rocked the shit out that mic!

  • excelente banda !!! ojala se escucharan en estos tiempos bandas y canciones asi!!!

  • i didn't know jay did music LOL

  • Kevin looks like a chick..

  • Hey i didnt know the guy from CLERKS is the lead singer of this band!!

  • @ljrweb Don't you mean Hansen? LOl

  • Comment removed

  • The passion...

  • Jason Mewes sure can sing.

  • Que pedazo de canción, misssssssss 90sssss

  • shitty shitty shitty band

  • Amazing.

  • WOW NOW THATS AN ARTIST!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome! I saw them in NW Arkansas a couple of months back and they rocked it! Kevin has some serious pipes and I just love their sound. He is FAR better today than in the early days. The reason is maturity. The early days he just screamed half the time during live performances when he could have controlled it better and sounded more like the albums. He sounds awesome today! I hope they keep bringing it!

  • Where did the passion in music go? 90's had it. then it just...got left far behind i guess. bum deal.

  • Any1 think the singer wooda been a good fit for AIC vocalist?? instead of thart Duvall guy

  • Bruins shirt makes me hapy

  • I love his energy and passion Kevin rocks the stage :) Would love to see them live but they don't come to Europe :(

  • I love this sing it kick but

  • i liked thanks

  • anyone think the singer looks like Michael Pitt?

  • @bulletformygizmo Definitely.

  • Now that is the Kind of Energy you should Always use!

  • - Is that Jay from "Jay & Silent Bob" ... (And, yes I like Candlebox, ... but that is uncanny.)

  • ALL OF THE BEST SONGS, AND BANDS, WERE FROM THE 90'S!!!!!!!!!!

  • @derpmahderp that's because all of them loved what they did, but now they do the commercial style, regardless of whether they like it or not, that's what it change: how to play with passion to music and how to play for love of money

  • haha i like hanson in this band

  • I dont know about everyone else, but it made it even more perfect that this was recorded on a vhs tape.

  • I love candlebox and I have this song on my ipod when we went to pick up my cousin from the airport after his first tour in Afghanistan He was like wait wait I love candlebox ... Im 33 and he is 21 ... I thought it was so cool .. Thankfully his first tour was also his only tour ... Thank you to all our troops ... But Josh thank you for not going back.

  • @cnwesner <3

  • Goddamn I miss these days! Such an epic album! I put it on a list of 30 albums you MUST listen to before you die...

  • @tallicdeth I'd like to see said list. Any perspective for before you die should be powerful, I'll send ya some I think the world should hear if they're not in it.

  • @DHLonnie Get back with me in about five months or so...I had a list, but then I decided that list blew ass...it needed MORE awesome!

  • @tallicdeth ...hell yes man....good call...gotta be in the top 20 too dude!

  • fuckin jay from jay and silent bob can sing his fuckin ass off!! what killer!

  • @SCARBAND Is that really him lol?

  • Andrew Wood, we will never forget you, same with Kurt Cobain, same as Layne Staley, you left us so far behind.

  • @Chrisgodoflard got goosebumps reading this. thank you

  • A really good friend of Kevin died from drug abuse, and he wrote the song for him/her.

that was what once I read on a magazine...back in the 90's. I was a big fan, "you" and "blossom" were my fav. Arrow was performed at Woodstock 94. they played along with NIN, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Collective soul, Blind Melon, Aerosmith, RHCP, Santana and Porno for Pyros, among others. :-) According to Mr. Martin "No sense" was his fave song. I miss those days... Shannon Hoon was really good too.

  • is it me or does he look like jay from jay and silent bob?

  • @AcousticSerenity NO.... jay looks like HIM not he looks like Jay

  • this is not an easy song to sing....

  • I so miss this. What it takes to still have this in your life...it costs.

  • Was silent bob in the background somewhere?

  • @carpetmartsucks You're right--it's really eerie.

  • jodeeeer esto es musicaaa me encanta el sentimientoo con el q interpreta la cancion es genial <3

  • The memories pile on while listening to a favorite song from the most blessed era.

  • holy shit that was good

  • wow! just heard this tune on the radio today and it really kicks ass!dont know how i missed it all these years!!

  • GRUNGE WILL NEVER DIE, IT'S ETERNAL CAUSE IT'S ANOTHER FORM OF LOVE

    LOVE NEVER DIES

  • Kevin Martin-1 OF THE BEST SINGERS OF ALL TIME

  • INCREDIBLE

  • "Nooooch, looks like someone shit in your cereal bong!"

  • @hellbadger84

    Snoogins

  • Still one of my favorite bands...and if you've never heard the whole album, pick it up, you won't be disappointed. Don't sleep on their later albums either. It's a shame that the band had sh*tty marketing push behind them. Great, great song.

  • Why is the solo changed

  • THEY ROCK!

  • @Pjaynes781 so angry . the chorus is so angry

  • kevin martin is true talent i belive he wasnt argry only honest this is how many early candlebox performances ive seen were.. i have seen candlebox about 16 times and kevin martin is "passionate" or very active in his performances he has mellowed some in his age however all candlebox songs are full of deep meaning and to just stand there wouldnt be candlebox .....they are currentyl touring and will see them two more times this year if you want to get your moneys worth see candlebox live

  • @desolategrey I saw them circa 1996 and boy was he angry, slamming the mic on the ground multiple times. They also didn't give an encore despite the audience loudly demanding one, which was kind of dick move. Not sure what happened, one of the guys I was with later said Kevin apologized in a magazine interview for that show? That was in Hamburg, Germany by the way.

  • One of my favorite songs

  • he kicked ass x40 on this video...........all heart

  • wow.......

  • very underrated ....great band

  • Such an angry performance in the vocalist? Hey bro, what gives? Why so angy?

  • @Pjaynes781 He's not angry, it's passion, he's feeling the music.

  • @KristinNirvana As a producer, and an owner of my own stuido and independent label I would have to disagree, the vocalist came across more angry than passionate. Trust me friend, passion is good, anger, well, depending on the format, is not good. I'm not some silly little youtuber who doesn't know what they're talking about, I record and prodcuce for a living, the vocalist came across way to angry. But, either way, it's cool. Peace out.

  • @Pjaynes781 Technical expertise in production of music has NOTHING to do with emotional interpretation of a performance.

  • @illbeatsblog Again, he came across a little to angry, but, like I said, I dig it. peace.

  • damn, could he have tightened up those cymbals any further? Prolly not.

  • oh so good ;]

  • Fuckin EPIC.

  • I saw them this year and they r not the sane.. they were horrible

  • I saw them in 06'. Still the same. So so powerful live. They did this song. It was beyond amazing.

  • Candlebox was one of the great bands right in the middle of the 90's music awesomeness. This dude has an incredible voice.

All yo youngsters out there, keep listening to 90's and KEEP PLAYING your instruments. Please bring back the 90's greatness! Get together and make it happen for all of us who still listen to nevermind and incesticide!!!

I was in my early 20's during the seattle explosion. It was a great time to say the least!!

  • Jay has a great voice and looks good in a Bill Cosby hat. Nice screamy voice, I love them

  • i've watched this video 300 times today. it sends chills up my spine every time i watch it. just incredible

  • grundge influenced

  • "auto tune" oh yeah they should outlaw GUITAR TUNERS huhh jesus you people are idiots. lets separate the "real guitarists" from the ones who can't tune that good by ear.

  • @mikeinoakland Wait, you do know that they were talking about that thing that makes people's voices all weird and fake sounding right? Has nothing to do with tuning guitars. It's a computerized effect people use to make voices sound different so it becomes less and less the person's own voice.

  • @KristinNirvana

yeah thats a fricken hilarious comment below XD

  • @mikeinoakland EPIC FAIL dude. EPIC FUCKING FAIL. Holy shit did you completely miss the boat.

  • @mikeinoakland ...... HAHAHAHAHAH tosser!!!!!!!!!!!!!! brittney spears uses it all the time!!!

and also, i'd love to see you playing a guitar on stage, in front of millions, try and quickly tune your guitar by ear!!!!!

    HAHAHAHA that would be funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mikeinoakland Lol. Wow. Who is talking about guitar tuners. Auto tune is an effect these so called artists use nowadays cause they can't fucking sing. You sing and it automatically pitches your voice correctly. Hence "auto-tune". All that shit that sounds like robots is fucking auto-tune. Idiots? Well kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.

  • I love how a lot of the comments are about how passionate this is. This band was totally underrated. If the band that was labeled as not as grunge as the rest of them can sound this cool and have this vibe, than literally all the bands of the 90's are greater than the best bands of today.

  • @KristinNirvana Nothing will EVER touch music from the mid 60's to 70's and the 90's. I wish i could just relive 1990 through about 1998 over and over again for life.

  • @prsfloods Yeah, I feel ya man, I love the 60's and 70's too, and I always thought life should have looped on maybe like 91-97 forever. Though I wasn't even born untill '92, so boy did I miss out!

  • @KristinNirvana I guess i was a lucky one. I was born in 82 so my teen years were filled with great music, great friends, great weed, and playing great shows. This society and "pop" culture is nothing short of disgusting now.

  • @prsfloods Yeah, I've hated it since the whole late 90's pop thing that keeps seeming to repeat itself. At the very least though, it's making me so sick I want to do something to change it, so I've been practicing guitar in hopes of forming an actually good, real band and maybe bring it all back.

  • @KristinNirvana Keep playing. I've been playing since i was 13. I have had my share of bands. Sad thing is nowadays everyone wants to play Nickelback and Linkin Park. So keep playing maybe we can share a stage somewhere down the road.

  • @prsfloods Hey cool, I started playing when I was 13, but I was like the smart kid in school that was thrown into the honors classes and had buttloads of work to do during the school year, but I picked it back up every summer, but I've only been really starting to play the last year or two. I mainly just care about the whole 90's/gen x/Seattle/grunge/alternative/riot grrrl thing so I hope I can eventually form a band of similar people. I want to move to Seattle, so maybe I'll find people there.

  • @KristinNirvana I was so far away from being the smart kid. lol. I worried more about getting stoned and playing music but i wouldn't trade it for anything. Best advice ever would be to play everyday. Even if its just for like 10 minutes. Always keep the fingers moving. Whatever you do, good luck and keep on rockin in the free world. lol

  • @prsfloods Thanks so much. It always helps to have a little support. It's been hard for me to find what with me not fitting in to my crappy generation and all for the past 13 years.

  • @KristinNirvana I bet. Be yourself and who gives 2 shits what anyone else thinks. As Eddie Vedder says. "the love he receives is love that is saved". Half the fuckers you don't or didn't fit in with won't mean shit in 5 years.

  • 90's music is completely amazing, shame i was too young to appreciate it back then :(

  • remember gettin this cd for christmas 93 when i was 13 changed the whole corse of my life in fact thewre are no candlebox cd that arent good even kevin martin and the hi watts are really great true ttalent may seattle sound live on for ever

  • Candlebox rocked......todays rock music is awful...bunch of screaming and warbling and scratchy vocals...SUX

  • Its jay but where the hell is silent bob. Just playin. Fantastic job. They sounded awsome. Great song off a fantastic album.

  • R.I.P. Q101

  • @paposwing25 lol, i live in chicago, what happend to q101? they used to play great music

  • @xxsk8r101xx They were bought out by another station that plays crap and talk all day.

  • @paposwing25 because there isnt am million other stations that play crap :/ what a shame RIP radio period now.

  • @paposwing25 i only get 95 wiil now that q101 is gone. The last song i had ever heard on q101 was this song, right after hearing it on 95 after the announcement that they were going to be at wiil rock the ranch.

  • This is the greatest performance on letterman EVER!!!!!!!

  • Reminds me Skid Row and Blind Melon

  • In 1993, a great number of excellent albums were released. Among the top of them was Candlebox's freshman effort. Brilliant. I was an impressionable 12 year old living in Seattle at the time. I can't tell you how fucking satisfying it is to know that I was actually right!- I DID have great taste in music as a child. Maybe I was lucky to be raised in a renaissance of passionate music. Still, thank YOU, Candlebox!

Attention teens/tweens of today: I am so sorry; you deserve much better.

  • @Freemonious amen to that!

  • @Freemonious Thank you for apologizing. Today sucks! I had good taste in music when I was a child too. I was the only little girl to hate Britney, Christina, Backstreet boys, Aaron Carter, N'sync etc. Thank god I found out about this when I was 12 though. I instantly loved it and knew it was perfect. You're very lucky though. It would have been great to not feel so different from the time I was 6 and going. I guess I'm right too. Apparently all my favorite musicians got famous when I was born.

  • ahh diddn't he miss some lyrics there dont his friends stand around and watch him crumble as faulters to the ground and stand beside while he was flyin, flyin oh so high?

  • I have 3 points to make: 1. Best song and voice ever 2. He looks like jay from jay and silent bob 3. Love his shirt BRUINS FTW!!!!

  • @13bri2010 3 Best points I've ever heard anyone make

  • 32 people are fucking def

  • kevin martin peter klett bardi martin scott mercado true talent seen thees guys about 12 times never a weak show

  • damnit that was amazing

  • I agree 3KOBAIN today's so called artists thinking their sampling and beats validate them what a joke... seeing this video reminds me how much craved to listen and party to real rock music by real artist....

  • best song of the 90's? YES

  • omg that is a voice...

  • Great band. Reminds me of good times growing up.

  • Out of all the post grunge that came out around and after Kurt died, I'd say candlebox is pretty underrated.

  • I have listen to this for years.. often wondering if what it means to me is, well what the singer ment it to mean. Well now I know it does. I miss you.

  • Candlebox is so kick ass live !!!!!!! I've seen them a couple of times and he just owns the stage , killer passion...real heart....

  • this is an awesome badass 90's song! never knew what they looked like til today! see music does speak for itself. wish we could go back to just listening to FM radio days........and just imagine!

  • letterman has seem some badass bands perform over the years

  • Comment removed

  • if anyone can check my videos out, highly appreciated lets put heart back into rock

  • David Letterman gets my vote for the most plastic human being of the 21st century. Good god what a fake of a human being he is.

  • Seriously. Where's Silent Bob?

  • @stubkar thats funny shit!!! I was thinkin he looked like jay too!!! lmao

  • Unlike back then, anyone can make a song nowadays. Everything gets tweaked.

  • out of all the concerts and videos ive watch on youtube. this old video right here still has the most passion in it. i miss the days when people were real with music. what you heard was what they felt. not todays auto tuned prepackaged craptastical shitfest.

  • @murakumo33 right. crapitalistic greedgrab

  • @murakumo33 Im only 17 now so i was probably like 3 when this originally came out but i just wanna say that you couldn't be more right. I got my moms taste in music and i do really love some of the modern Punk Rock and Screamo but my true love and passion lies with the 90's Alternative Rock and Grunge. Far Behind and Cover Me are my favorites from Candlebox lol and Cover Me was actually the first song i ever learned on guitar xD

  • @murakumo33 F'en A!!!!!!!

  • @murakumo33 Thank you, I feel the same way

  • love this song! ima be listenin to this song til i die

  • who the hell would dislike this??? anyway..i'd give anything to go back..sitting in front of the the tube watching this performance....

  • @rgv2006tx Who would dislike this?... Montreal Canadiens fans! BRUINS are bringing the cup back to Boston baby!!!!

  • @jaxfull3s ?

  • I think he has an amazing voice. His way to interpretate this song is something that I don't see very often, maybe this perfomance is one of the best I've ever seen, because of the power of his voice and corporal expression....

  • this is scat singing. very cool

  • 90s.. when shit was real.

  • that is my idea of a perfect man….physically, mentally.

    i want the 90s back.

  • oh,god...he skip the lyrics...

  • This video is uber quality. I love this guy's voice!

  • Now, that is passionate singing... right there! Silent Bob rocks, I mean, Kevin!

  • @91joelt hey man thats jay not bob

  • perfect solo for this osng its under rated!

  • I totally went for a Jay and Silent Bob look alike joke but someone has already beat me too it and with 65 likes.. hahahaha

  • I just saw candlebox last summer at an outdoor concert here in michigan and they blew me away. Very good band live even after all these years. Very underrated in my opinion, one of the more distinct sounds of the grunge period. Good stuff, I hope to see them again if they make it back.

  • damn kevin martin was young as hell here.

  • Damn where'd silent bob go?

  • Andrew wood, if only he would see how successful he and they were.

  • Wouldn't it be more like Jay looks like Kevin Martin?

  • the most underrated band

  • Is that Jay?

  • @KristinNirvana

That's weird that they are from Seattle because their album doesn't sound like the "Seattle sound". They sound almost like an 80s rock band.

  • @mwhight Hmm, I always thought they kind of sounded like from Seattle but not that much. Yeah they do sound different. I had always heard them labeled as post-grunge, and I recently read an interview with the singer saying they were labeled as grunge-lite and they didn't really like the labels anyway because all the grunge bands are diverse. I always kind of thought of them as soulful bluesy alternative, but I did think they sounded 90's, but that miht be because I grew up hearing this song then

  • Awesome song. Is it true that they are from Seattle ? They sound less grunge-ish as Alice in chains and nirvana.

  • @mwhight Yeah, they are from Seattle.

  • Love this song! Everything mixes perfectly, the guitar, bass, drums, Kevin's vocals... They are currently on tour; I'm looking forward to seeing them for the first time in two weeks!

  • this is such a badass live performance of this song...

  • I'm suddenly 12 years old again.

  • @JonnoThomas You were a dorky twelve year old...

  • Man, 90's music was the greatest.

  • i miss the fussyness of analog tv..

  • @lonerstonr I miss general fuzzyness. Even fuzzyness that was before my time - like vinyl.

  • cool

  • yeah so reckon we need grunge back for sure

  • My favorite song ever.

  • This is such a fucking great song

  • Best of the best!!!! LoVe it!

  • I love Kevin's long hair, he should let it grow long again

  • no bands like this any more thats for sure...

  • I wonder what year was it ---

  • @dontlayeggs it was around 1994

  • Their finale was destruction of all their e
